Here's a question I've been questioning myself well...since forever. Most of us here are all still considered young, wether we be 10, 20, or even 30. We all know that sooner or later we'll die. It's something we all fear I guess, so most of us prefer to not think of it so often. But take the time to think about it NOW. What do YOU think will happen when we die? I'm not asking for religious answers such as going to hell, heaven, or getting reborn. I'm talking about how it would feel. Would everything just black out, or would you just feel like nothing's happened and continue life inside your imagination?

I think that no one knows so there is no point in discussing what you randomly think will happen.

Like Aleco said, I'm not really afraid of death, but the process of it, you know the whole 'bloody and violent death and destruction' bit, that kind of freaks me out. Also, I guess death is one of those things where you can stand on the sidelines and say it is no big deal, but we really have no call to judge it until we have experienced it firsthand (which I can fairly safely assume most of us have not).Comment

i think fear of death is something that everyone worries about sometime in their lives, but that it should be something that everyone can get over. think about it... chances are you'll either: 1. die in your sleep B. be hit by a car (or something like this, instant death) or 3. have an excrutiating painful death. in the first two, you wont know it happened. if you die in your sleep, your dead. you more than likely wont realize it and wont have time to think about it or fret over it. the same goes for the second scenario... you likely wont see it coming or will only have a split second to think about whats happening. you wont have hours or days beforehand to think "wow, i'm goin to die. oh noz, i'm skerd." it will just happen, and be done with. now, for the third one, it gets a little bit more complicated. cancer, heart disease, all that stuff is a very painful way to end a life. in that case, your mind will have time to think about whats going to happen and will more than likely cause a great fear to come to the person. however, they are going to die. basically what i'm saying... dont be afraid to die. its going to happen. we dont know when or where or how, but its going to happen. you cant go through life worrying about it.
as far as what happens... i'll shy away from giving you my real point of view and give you what i think would happen if i wasnt religious. basically, i think it will just be an almost instantanious black out, and then nothing. i've heard (correct me if this is wrong) that scientists have proven or seen (or somethinged) that when people die they go into an almost immediate dreamlike state very very briefly, ie the whole "life flashing before your eyes" thing. but after that, nothing.Comment

Then it always raises the question:
Which is the best, and which is the worst, way to die? (Unnaturally, meaning someone killed you). So, if you were going to be executed and could choose your death, what would it be?
I think the best way to die would be by freezing to death. They say that right before you die you feel all warm and happy. Of course Lethal Injection wouldn't be bad either, since you'd be asleep.
The worst way to die would be burning. No question, although aphyxiation (drowning) would be pretty bad also. But no, burning would be a slow, excruciatingly painful death.Comment

Im really not afraid of dying, even if you come up with the worst way to die. I really couldn't care, like if a gun was pointed at my head I'd probably scare the dude shitless and make him feel bad for wanting to shoot me in the first place unless he's a psycho path and does it anyway...like what's the big deal?Comment

Crucifixion is actually one of the worst ways to die in the world. It's like being tortured to death.
As for what I think will happen, I'm religious, so I believe in an afterlife. How it will feel is beyond me. But I don't fear death. In fact, if I died in my sleep tonight, I don't think I would mind, even though there's so much I want to do on Earth. Heaven, j0.Comment

i am no longer afraid of dying. i used to be real afraid of dying but now i just dont care anymore, but thats cause certain things happened in my life. i think it just depends on what happens in your life, if nothing is going so good, you dont really care if it all ends. But that doesn't mean i crave a long painful death.Comment
