what are your people's veiws on the pagan religion?

It's a religion like any other....i don't believe in anything they do but, like any other religion, let them be as long as they aren't hurting anyone.

theres the key... thats often not how it is. sacrifices and such.

the pagan type religion is very interesting to study and learn about, but they do have some strange practices and beliefs. when you say pagan, was there a particular sect (i guess thats the right word) you were talking about? ie: wicca, druid, etc?

yeah no.. ijust was wondering what yourveiws were .. doesn't matter on any sect..
to tell you the truth, i dont' really know much about it, but i love learning about it cuz it's so interesting..
like the other day, my friend told me that catholic faith is partially based on pagan traditions ( ie. this is my body, this is my blood, i give it up to you..[or somehting.. heh]) ...

Jesus was born in April, or something, but somewhere where they were trying to impose christianity on the people, and not doing very well, they changed some winter solstice-type holiday to Christmas to please both them and the people, and many of the traditions were kept.

For instance, regularly, christianity wouldn't have any holiday where you do things with a tree.

But I really don't know very much at all.
I am pretty sure of the broad idea, but I know none of the specifics, so the truth may be very different.

Because it is. Jesus most likely wasnt born in winter. The 25th used to be the Winter Solstice in ancient Pagan beliefs. The church, knowing that it couldnt compete with Pagan beliefs at the time, used the already Winter Solstice feastivities as a means to trick Pagans into celebrating the birth of Jesus.

Seriously, it is between 30-50 degrees in the Middle East this time of year. The new-born Jesus would not be able to last the night if it were during the winter. He'd freeze to death.

The idea of the tree was partially drawn from the holiday of Beltane.
