Anyway... he ended up picking...

I was trying to be open to it... but I found it hard to watch...

Then this grown black man came up... picked light.

He was freestyling (I forget the song)... and all of a sudden he just sat on the pad and starting slaping the pad... it looked ridiculous and he ended up missing most of the arrows...

I want to say this is a joke, but anyways, the definition of bar raping is grabbing the saftey bar and putting some/most (varies from person to person and song to song) of your weight on the bar, either with one or both hands (Though with one hand it's more of a stability thing, as most people can't really lift themselves like that with one hand).

This is generally used to increase your perfect count on harder songs. People have different opinions on it. Some do this all the time, some do it only for the harder songs, some feel it's cheating and don't do it at all. In general, though, you'll get away with it so long as you're raping it on something moderately hard. IMO, if you can't combo all 6-footers and most 7-footers without the bar, learn do that without it first. In reality, when it counts (Say, if you were in a tech tourny), most people rape the bar, simply because it's there for anyone to use and it shaves a few greats/goods off your score.

It's essentially the same thing as the debate over speed mods... It's there for anyone to use, and individual people make thier own choice about it. (Hell, at times the bar can be a serious hinderance; Look at the steps for Rythm and Police heavy single, and then imagine turning like that with both hands locked on the bar... Unless you have really flexy arms you'll probably do pretty bad) In the end, however, what's really important is the score (Or, in tournies, the perfect count and stuff) that the machine spits out at you.
