Once again, I begin with Anime News Network 's synopsis of the series.
"Tokiha Mai and her sickly younger brother, Takumi, have received a scholarship to attend the prestigious Fuuka Academy. On the way, the ferry they are travelling on becomes the site of a destructive battle between two girls wielding apparently supernatural powers. This is only the beginning of their troubles, as Mai learns that she herself possesses these powers - the powers of a HiME."
Kefit and I both agree - this series is t3h w1n. It combines an amazing plot with comedy and vibrantly colorful action scenes. Lately, every episode has been leaving the viewer wanting more and more. Things are revealed to the viewers in small pieces at a time to allow them to figure things out for themselves.
The first few episodes are purely dedicated to allowing the viewers time to understand the world and situation the characters are in. Speaking of the characters, this is the time they take to explain the role each character has. When I say "each", I mean all 30-40 characters. They do not limit themselves to one, two, or even a dozen main characters. Though the story focuses around Mai and her brother, there are many times when the focus moves elsewhere to let the viewers know even more about the world.
An amazing series with no flaws that I've seen yet. They took their time getting it underway, but once they did, it ruled. 9/10 so far, with 11 episodes left in the series (assuming it ends at 26).
