All I know about heaven is it is a wonderful place and you will have a good time for eternity, praising God, doing all that stuff. If you don't like God and you don't want to praise Him, what's the point of going to heaven?
Hell is torture, I don't know much about that either.

I say why should we try to know what places are exactly like that we can't even comprehend well and we don't have much info on?
I'm waiting to get there to really know what it's like.
That is the only reason you believe. You are afraid.
Believe! or go to hell... a bad place with a scary guy with horns. But if you believe, you will go to the most beautiful and wonderful place with a really nice guy that loves all of us... and we will live happily ever after.
    Way to alter my post.
I do not believe because I am afraid, I believe because I want to. You may not believe the same. Your version of the story is messed too.

Seriously, is doubting some story some guy told you so bad that you'll have to burn in hell for eternity for it?
    Yes.
    I still exist...

Sure you do. We all do. We are in Hell. LIFE = HELL

That's why I think religion is a waste of time and money.

Pathetic. Then you ARE afraid to die. Make up your mind.

I am definitely not afraid of death. I am not pathetic. I have no need to make up my mind.

One thing I have always wondered is why does it matter what happens after death? Whether it be hell or heaven, oblivion or reincarnation, whatever, that's a totally different person who is no longer you. Why would actions to someone else that may or may not happen sometime in the unknown future when the person is totally responsible for whatever they feel affect how you, the person who never has to suffer the consequences of your actions in an afterlife because only dead-you will be there for that. To make it a bit clearer: why should I personally care about what happens to me after the barrier of death? I won't be the one suffering, nor will any other human being or person I should feel compassion for. So why should I change my actions according to that?

              Sigh

I know we are all critical thinkers here. I know we all like to feel that if it is fed to us, we will be able to understand. But as humans, there are just certain ideas I don't think we can conceive.

We cannot grasp the nightmare, the grinding dark abyss that is hell, so why keep trying? We cannot begin to think of the paradise that is heaven, nor the endless depths of eternity, nor even our infinitely small place in the universe.

The most important thing for everyone is to find a definite belief. Do your research. Be open-minded and start mainstream, then do more research and mind answers to those more puzzling problems. I think that if the homework is done right, you would end up looking toward Christianity. But of course many of you would think that I said that only because I'm a Christian. You'd just have to find out, wouldn't you?

Now, I think that the "infinite" realm in which we live in is the only place with time. Places like Heaven are simply part of another realm that has nothing to do with our time. So if in fact our universe is a giant circle, those outside can see the whole thing as "is." That is just simply impossible to truly imagine.

Death is not an end at all. We are just going to be yanked out of the whole time-space continuum deal we are so used to here. What you will find after that?...

...Well, you certainly can't expect to find all the answers on an internet forum. That's about as sound as it gets.

I left a few flaws. Go ahead and attack them. If you really want to.

aleco, you put a lot of faith into something you have very little knowlage about. your mentality scares me.

to me HAMLET said it best "the undscoverd country from whose bourn no traveler returns."

we cannot know what happens when we die.

perhaps you will go into a loop pattern like a computer and keep re-living your life, with that thought though. who is to say that you are not already dead?

another possibility is that nothing will happen. this is neather good nor bad, it just ends. it is like sleep, you dont remember most of it. time just passes, thats all. do you fear sleep?

third possibility, holy redemption. heaven, hell, purgatory, rebirth, whatever you believe in.

Hm. Maybe we should ask someone who died? Seriously, think about it.

Everbody who already "died" say that they where going upwards, to "heaven", or that they seen the movie of their life. I think thats a stupid idea.

                          Sorry.

You talking about people who have been dead but were pulled back to life?

The emphasis on knowledge I think has grown a bit too much in society. Why should we fear the unknown?

Also: it can't just be nothing- When most people die, they have facial expressions as if they see something beyond that scares are delights them-such as my grandpa. You may not agree, blah blah etc....... But I can tell
                              I still exist...
