Muhammed proclaimed somewhere, I can't remember where, to kill jews.

That may be so, but I know for a fact it also says in the Qu'ran that you must tolerate the people of the book, which refers to the torrah (the old testament). The people of the book refers to jews and christians. But like every other religious text, I wouldn't be suprised if there were contradictions for every pietous demand.

lol, yeah sorry about that Renmazuo, but the way you said it, you really just took a blatant and uneducated stab at the Muslim religion all together. It just really pissed me off that you think that one of the major religions in the world is all about killing people.
As far as the whole "you need friends" thing, your avatar just stuck out to me and so I used with my argument. ^^ Yeah sorry about that one.
But seriously now, Mohammed was the most influencial person in Islam. People take his word as a correct interpertation of the Quran. If you're trying to tell me that he told all the Muslims in the world to go off killing Jews... Sorry man, I read, write, and speak arabic and I've read up on quite a bit of scripture--I can tell you there is nowhere in the Quran or an accurate recorded saying of Mohammed that said to kill jews. Islam is actually a quite peaceful religion-it's just the extremists that distort everything that you see on the media. And that's unfortunately the media's job--to report on extreme happenings in the world. Because that's what sells.
Sorry about my past insults towards you, it's just that everything you said about Mohammed and Islam was totally wrong. That's all. My deepest apologies for any embarassment or anger I may have caused you.

Just saw that it was fake, but to continue the topic:
The extremist Muslims believe in Jihad, "Holy War". They specifically believe that people who don't believe in Muhammed, "infidels", should be killed. The reason why the fanatics do suicide bombings is because they believe killing members of other religions will get them into heaven, so they figure that killing them right before they die will give them direct access into heaven.

I would put it this way, when people think of the Middle Ages, they think of the Dark Ages of the world. But that is not what it was. It was the dark age of Christianity, the period of time where public beheadings and other atrocities were commited. During that time, the Muslims were not nearly as horrible as the fanatic Muslims are today. They invented useful tools for explorations by boat, and created technologies that were helpful back in the era. Now, the fanatic Muslims are undergoing their own "Middle Ages", but this time, they have guns and bombs. We should hope that the terrorists don't get their hands on nuclear weapons.
Every hunter and forager, every hero and coward, every creator and destroyer of civilizations, every king and peasant, every young couple in love, every hopeful child, every mother and father, every inventor and explorer, every teacher of morals, every corrupt politician, every superstar, every supreme leader, every saint and sinner in the history of our species, lives here on a mote of dust, suspended in a sunbeam.
