Family issues

I'm in a bit of a predicament right now. I hate my family. I can't stand being around them at all. It's to the extent where I've now left the house for at least a few days, me staying at my best friend's place. I have absoltuely no way to make it in the world, though.

How do you ween yourself away from a family that destroys your spirit to live when you're around them when you need them to survive on a base level?

Well, usually what I do is find something really really productive to vent off all of my frustration. Then I figured it out, now I run 5 miles every morning and swim 5000 meters every night working out during the day in weight training class. So by the time I get home I'm too tired to be annoyed by my parents. You can yell at them too and tell them that you don't love them, that works sometimes, then they feel sorry for you and give you presents. And don't drink when you are sad, that's stupid.

In all honesty, I'm probably going to go back tomorrow on my hands and knees begging for forgiveness, but damned if things will ever be the same in my head or theirs again.

I just needed to vent because I'm afraid of whatever life is going to throw me now.

dude.. we don't really kow what the problem is to help.. the severity of the things they do to make you feel like shit are important on how we can help you fix the situation..

I can relate to you on too many levels with this subject. And not just because I don't want to bother with my parents, it's that they have to impose their personal problems on myself and my sibling. I've actually done what you're doing right now because there's so much tension in the house that it seems to be taking away from my health at times. That's really why I'm all hyped up about going to college this year, I get to dorm, and in the years afterwards I'm doing all I can to not come back home.

All I can say to help you is if you feel misplaced in the family and you've tried everything else then work on taking care of yourself so you're ready to go when you have the chance. It helps a LOT.

i know how you feel aswell, i have more or less excommunicated myself from one side of my famly because they treated me like dirt. if you have no other option, go back. but try and atleast look like you are conforming to thier will. deep down it is only an act.

I don't know that much about the problem either, but it seems to me like leaving is a good idea, maybe not just this minute, but eventually. It's hard for me to understand why someone hates their family, but i mean i can relate sort of. I hate where i live, not who i live with. I need to get away from where i am, and soon. I just think you shouldn't just leave your parents and never come back, as impossible as it might seem now, i think once you're away from your family for awhile, you won't mind seeing them as much when you do. You'll actually enjoy it most likely.

I can't do jack shit about anything I hate down here. Im 16 and I got nowhere to go. My best friend who I thought was my best friend doesn't talk to me anymore. I think I hate mine too.

I always got along fairly well with my parents until a few months ago. My mom is a bitch who lies through her teeth, and my dad is an insensitive prick whom I can't connect with on even the most arbitrary of subjects. The most recent problem? My parents want to move. That in itself is bad, but the worst part is that they hid it from me until the evidence piled up- notes left around, history, .tifs...I had to yell at them for a good half hour before they'd tell me. So now I'm being a vindictive asshole at every opportunity...I don't feel sorry.
