Aero's remix sounds cool... Wish I could listen to the original, but mp3unsigned.com crashes Mozilla due to wildly invalid code everywhere.

You can go to Soundclick.com for free music webosting, its probably the biggest unsigned artists community right now, with the downfall of mp3.com and all.
...And the vsti's, they are basically software synthesizers. You can use them to generate sounds. For example, in FL when u go to add a channel it gives you a menu of what types of channels you can add, the ts404 and 3xosc among others are vst synths. You can adjust the parameters of these synths to create your sounds. Generally synths are used for all the intrumental parts of the songs, and samples for the drums and percussion. The best way to learn about the vsts is to experiment with them, so add a couple ts404 channels and play around with it, and you will understand what i mean. You can also download more synthesizers off the net, my favorites are Albino, Slayer 2 (Thats where i got the guitar in the remix), Vanguard, Superwave, so you might want to try those out.
(vsts go in the c:/program files/Flstudio/Plugins/Vst folder)
There is one more kind of vst that creates effects, when you go into fruity and add an effect in the mixer those are all vsts, and likewise u can get more off the net.
Hoped that helped.
edit: what program did u use to rip the samples from the spcs? I've been looking for a good one.Comment

Computer mic? No way. :P
I used SPCtool... It's a DOS program that doesn't play spcs very well on win XP, but it still rips individual samples from spcs at the right quality.
Now begins the extremely patronizing explanation. It probably won't work on windows DOS console, so alt+enter and try again if you get a garbage GUI. Find the sample you want in the list on the left, press play to make sure it's the right one, click the down arrow near the play button(exports it to this directory), take note of the Loop(In samples) then loop it in cooledit or something that can be set to sample time. Yeah it's kind of a lot to do... I'd kill for something less tedious.
You can get it at zophar.net, but it sounds like you already have something that's easier. :0Comment

SPCTool is the best SPC sampler you can get. It doesn't work on XP, but meh.Comment

Its good except, the remix sounds way different than the first one. I mean, I still here the melody and stuff...its just....remixed.
Alot.

Remixes are no longer just a song with extra elements. The goal in remixing today is to actually do your own interpretation. Most of the remixes of songs nowadays are more or less dubs.Comment

actually, the main reason i thought it sounded annoying is cuz it sounds like my stuff
its definatly better than most of my stuff
tinny sounds=most of my earlier songs (im getting a bit better about this)
and CIA Rave sucks, as well as like 90% of what ive written

Watch out for the filter's resonance. It sounds like you got some clipping going on. Some synths synths sound imbalanced... though it will take some experimentation on your part to figure it out as I cannot discern what it is though. All in all pretty tight.Originally posted by djaeroHere it is:
I didn't have a horribly large amount of time to do this, but I gave it a shot. Its kind of a housy tune, with an electric guitar for the lead, bass guitar for the... bass of course, and a nice strong 4/4 beat.
Enjoy
Amfew: Its a really great composition, that 4 years of midi experience really shows.Comment
