Do any of you know what the symbolism/metaphors are in フリクリ(FLCL)? I know that they're in there but I just plain don't know what they are. I think cats have something to do with it.

Sorry I thought most people would be familiar. It's an anime about a kid who sprouts robots out of his head. It's a little difficult to explain. You really gotta see it to know what it is. Cartoon Network has aired it a couple of times and if you ever see it on, I recomend you watch it.

Watching it is like being on mind-expanding drugs, without all of the riff-raff.
Although, that's just what I assume, because I've never taken mind-expanding drugs.
But nonetheless, it's nuts.Originally posted by Henri PoincaréThe scientist does not study nature because it is useful to do so. He studies it because he takes pleasure in it, and he takes pleasure in it because it is beautiful.Comment

*stabs Para in the face* Yeah, there's deifnitely alot of symbolism in there, but it's easy to miss most of it because of the fast paced randomness. But one easy one to spot is Medical Mechanica representing the government and how if they had the power they would definitely turn us all into mindless zombies...
....Or that's at least waht the Pumpkin told me...O.o...Comment

Se My Avatar? THOSE are eyebrows! Anyway it basically the same .The lightning quick pace of FLCL overwhelms you in a sense of color and humor but it still leaves you with the sense of chaos and pandemonium. Anyway I love the show and change my FLCL avatars almost daily. Can anyone tell me how to get an avatar as a sig?

Someone on another board said "It's basically a commentary on how *EDIT* up growing up is"
I like it. It works. Some other parts (like the robots and the shootout) I interpreted to be a not so subtle commentary on young children's obsession with violence and blood. Ok, *steps down off the soapbox*
