Favourite Poster
Poplartry contest here. Who cares if they make good posts or not because you want to suck up to them and hopefully bathe in the glowing shadow of their visage.

Best poster is post content / general forum awesomeness. Favourite poster is bias, based on anything you want, and is more popularity based.

Good posts do not necessarily = popular or favourite poster.

Also,

People who jumped in with a "Saving my Spot" voting list may wish to delete their post and think a little longer. Also, with TRD's permission, I'm going to suggest we just delete every post that isn't a vote post in proper format. Discussion and random nominations, and attempts to convince people should go to the "it's that time again" thread also in chit-chat.

Move the posts that aren't votes to your thread (that can keep everything cohesive) rather than outright delete them. Better that way I think. Though any that don't fit in completely then go ahead and delete them.

But I DO want to mention the hilarity of the fact that the committee to count the votes is a complete listing of FFYa members. HA! HALL OF FAME (NEW*)

This is an entirely new section / award that I have decided to start from this year and every year onwards. Each year ONE person will be added to the HALL OF FAME. This is a prestigious section for the few FFR members who truly make the site a different place. They are the person who epitomises what FFR is. This award should go to someone who is truly a great person here at FFR. A troubador of words, a scallywag of actions, rapscallion incarnate. So really think about who you'd like to have entered into the FFR HALL OF FAME.

Think of it like a lifetime achievement award. Except on the internet. And pretty much only for use in an argument on the internet.

Imo, there should be far more spots for this category than is currently designated. FFR has a considerable amount of people who have contributed vastly to what the game and site have become. From my past three years alone, I can name at least a dozen members who would doubtlessly deserve induction. Selecting only one per year would make the Hall of Fame an unjust institution in that those who might otherwise have been considered essentially lose much of their chance as the annual nature of the event gives way to an inherent prioritization of newer generations of members. Including the essentials (Synthlight, Shashakiro, Tasselfoot, jimerax, TheRapingDragon, DarkManticoreX2, Hakulyte, dore, HammyMcSquirrel, etc.) would take at least a decade of these awards. By then, however (and assuming/hoping FFR lasts that long), we would have a ridiculously long list of yet unhonored individuals, and the number that would remain as such would be disproportionately high.

For the above reason, I suggest upping the nomination slots to perhaps five (or whatever it takes to properly give due credit).
