Just another reminder that the gameplay competition will begin in roughly 11 hours from the posting of this story. If you want to discuss the goings on of this competition, do so in this thread.
It seems many users are confused by varying time zones, so let me give a few different ones for the starting time:
Time Zone:
EST: 1am Sat til 1am Sun
CST: Midnight Sat til Midnight Sun
PST: 10pm Fri til 10pm Sat
GMT: 6am Sat til 6am Sun
Moscow: 9am Sat til 9am Sun
Tokyo: 3pm Sat til 3pm Sun
Sydney: 4pm Sat til 4pm Sun
Once again… prizes for the top5 places: 1st place will win an FFR T-Shirt and a 1 year subscription. 2nd place will get a 1 year subscription. 3rd place will get a 6 month subscription. 4th and 5th places will each get a 3 month subscription.
Finally… be on the lookout for a few new songs throughout the day tomorrow to keep everyone interested and excited on the Quest For A Billion!

1 billion is no sweat. You can do it by AAAing something as easy as Carrousel Paradise for 24 hours. or, AAAing something denser for less time. BUT, I need a frikin working internet. =/

DURING the competition? 1 Billion should be automatic vRofl and subscription no matter when it is. Talk about dedication. I don’t think it’s possible for one person to play FFR for 24 hours. It’s just too damn hard. People talk about FC’ing EHHS over and over, but you’d be lucky to FC Gaussian Blur or a similar difficulty song 700 some times (that’s how many times you could play a 2 minute song in a day). The only way I could imagine doing it is if you could play one-handed well enough to FC these songs with either hand, and switch between ‘em every half hour. I’m gonna try to compete by getting up at 3-4 in the morning, but man, “just” 500 million sounds impossible to me.

yea ive been thinking about that too tass. playing songs all over 10 taps a second for 24 hours will truly test my endurance
and im glad you added the vROFL token to 1 billion get
now does that mean if like 4 people get over 1 billion, then all 4 get vROFl or just the first one>?

anyone who gets 1 bil during this will get vROFL. i don’t think anyone will get 1 bil outside of an official competition, seeing as how we’ve been recording and displaying this info for almost a year now and nobody has gotten over 600 mil.

Nobody will get 1 billion other than cheating. Did some quick math, and you need to get 645162 perfects in 24 hours. Which is 7,47 taps/sec if you count on playing the whole day. If you remove the time taken to eat, piss, reload and suffer from CTS, that makes a lot of arrows.
Good luck anyway to those trying to do it legitly.

i so want vrofl so ima play for 24 hours straight playing not to difficult songs gradeus seems like a good song to get 1 bil on but idk when i get tired ill start AAAing normal and tricky songs then when im not tired ill head back up to chalenging and VC songs or ill just play Max forever a bunch of times lol

If you were to play The Divine Suicide of K [Hard] over and over until you reached 1,000,000,000 points, it would take about 22.7 hours of straight flawless gameplay. Playing the song once(5 minutes long) gives you about 3,800,000 points per play if you FC it with a fair amount of goods. So that means you would have to play the song about 264 times(81840 Seconds or 22.7 hours). This does not include fatigue, combo breakers, or breaks. This is no small feat, near impossible for the average player. Correct me if I’m wrong.

Tasselfoot: It’s not hard to play FFR for 24 hours straight (with a few snacks here and there etc.). I think my limit would be 72 hours-ish. I’ve played enough to get 1 billion points in one day (the first week or two after Xx{Midday}xX the account was created). It’s just that most of them were offline, and I didn’t want to bother sending infinite screenshots to get a record of 1 bil. =)
Make sure you open multiple windows to play songs right after the other. =) preferably, play different songs so you don’t get bad habits. =)

hey… i’m not going to be playing 24 hours of FFR. but it is fun to watch all of you doing it.
and Lone: that’s way too easy. I don’t want to give out vROFL… but I think it’s a solid reward for 1 billion, because I think at most 1, maybe 2, will get it.

Also, 1 bil points sounds in a day would be as hard as to take listening to my dad sing when he enters the room when I’m playing FFR, especially when he looks at the screen, which pisses me off somehow, and I shut down the computer.

Realistically, I know I’m not going to get to a billion. If I’m lucky, I’ll get 14 hours out of the day to do this, and that works out to about 700k with my strategy if I can hold up the stamina.

You’ll need to be able to FC FMOs atleast, trying to do Vrofl over and over again for 24 hours would be near impossible unless you have an electric toothbrush apparatus. People weaken over time, and I doubt anyone will do it.
