Death Note *minor spoilers if you read into it*

Well, I just finished watching the entire series of Death Note on youtube (only took 3 days and all in japanese with english subtitles). I have to say, I am very impressed.
I had heard a lot of good things about the series, but I had never seen it.
I enjoyed it and highly recommend it, but (to warn you) be prepared for a tragedy story.
L is my favorite character by far, but Light/Kira is in second place. L is my favorite mostly because of his weirdness mixed with his coolness mixed with his genius. L's character impressed me a lot. He was well written and executed.
Light (or Kira, if you prefer that name) is in my second place due to his character design. His character started out as my favorite, but L took over quickly. Light starts out wanting justice and peace (which I respected), but, in the end, was overcome by his pride and belief in himself. I find myself wishing that his fatal flaw (his pride and selfishness) would not have overcome him, but that would defeat the main purpose of the show.
I found Misa overly annoying and was bored repeatedly by her character.
Near and Mello did not interest me much at all. I like Near more than Mello, but I feel my impressions might have been impacted by their replacement of L (because he was my favorite character).
I am not going to write about my other character impressions due to the other characters' minor roles. (feel free to ask through a comment if you really want to know)
Well, those are my thoughts. I recommend you watch it for yourself and see if you like it. I enjoyed it and hope that I can find more "new" anime on youtube soon. (new to me anyway =P Feel free to suggest if you know any good animes)

PS: I support L x Light pairing. Reason: Their reasonings and minds are alike and, if Light would have overcome his pride, they would match up very well. As proof, they got much closer during Light's *ahem* memory loss...(no more spoilers beyond that) + they are just adorable together. =P

   Though I didn't choose to watch the whole Death Note series in Japanese subtitles on youtube, I still see Light/Kira as the the coolest. No amount of pride he has will ever change that. Kira will rule the world!
