TH11: Subterranean Animism

Yeah...my thoughts on the game after playing this for a month now.

I don't like it much. It's like MoF, but worse.

Storyline: Dialogue is amusing. Seems like ZUN is turning to comedy nowadays, and I like it, especially when their partner randomly starts talking while the protagonist (Marisa or Reimu) constantly tells them to shut up. I'm surprised that Nitori is even in the game as Marisa's partner (yay).

Gameplay: This is what turns me off. I hate patterns. Not as fun as it used to be. You have three styles to play. Each with their own unique bullet and bombs. Reimu's choice is to team up with either Yukari, Suika, or Aya. Marisa's choices are Alice, Patchouli, or Nitori. I just hate all of their bombs and shot-type. I wish it could go back to IN style. That game was amazing. Another thing, I HATE the 2 lives start thing. I wish we could add more since I'm not THAT good. Makes things a lot harder for me and a few others.

Music: So far, all of the music seems...forgettable. Not very epic, and not as catchy as the previous games. Only one I (sort of) like is the stage 2 music. It's different compared to the others as it sounds very depressing. I like it, and very soothing. Something I could use to help me sleep. Everything else was meh.

Graphics: Very appealing. Nice graphics, and characters aren't THAT badly drawn compared to MoF. Nothing to say here.

Characters: Hmm...not much to say except for...YAY! NEW ONI AND SUIKA'S FRIEND! Because of this and (apparently) two other oni they know, they other two could possibly be the next two bosses for the next two stages. Since not much other info is revealed about them, I won't say much about them.

Overall: OK, but I think the game is going backwards now. I don't like this game as much as the others. I guess I'll stick with SWR for now.

   First off, I'll say thanks for reminding me about 11. Forgot it was coming soon rofl.
   Meh, the 2 lives thing is a tradition. I'll comment more after I play the demo once.
