Life as of Late

Last week (or the week before) my NIC got fried in a lightning storm. Okay, maybe the lightning was just a coincidence, but it got fried nonetheless.

The DELL guy came and replaced our entire motherboard. When we tried to boot up, Windows rejected the new hardware and we had to reinstall it. Reinstalling windows comes with formatting our hard drive. We did so, and our Internet worked fine. However, we had problems with spyware after downloading something.

Before I continue, know that we have an external HDD that was salvaged from our old computer. It contains most of our music and my nieces first baby pictures.

After too much trouble with the spyware, my father called a support line with a number the DELL guy gave us. The guy gave my dad instructions that led to him partitioning Windows on the external drive. All that data is gone, and we're not cluttering up the drive any more until we can take it somewhere to see if we can recover the data.

Long story short. I can't install anything until we take the hard drive somewhere. I, at this point, have stopped caring about what was on the drive and I just want to re-download Photoshop.
