Well, you can now wager your credits against other users. http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/gambling/ is currently subbie only, for testing purposes... so please attempt to exploit it. If you find any bugs/glitches, let me know. We're keeping logs on everything, so we'll know anyway. How does it work? You can either place a bet, anywhere from 10-100,000 credits. Then if you do that, you wait until someone accepts it. Then one person randomly wins (50/50 odds). OR, if there is already a wager for the amount you want to bet, just accept the current one. if you want to place multiple bets at once, just keep hitting Submit on the Place Bet page each time it refreshes... you can then have 2 or 5 or 50 bets waiting for someone to accept at one time.

You can't lose more than you have... because when you place the bet your account is debited the amount you wagered... and you cannot accept a wager when you don't have sufficient credits.

Okay well I attempted using a javascript injection to change the bet amounts to negative numbers or number not in the list. It said invalid bet amount, so good job. I also attempted using this Firefox plugin I have to change the POST values. I got the same result as the javascript. As far as that goes it's exploit-proof. Trying other things nao

Now I think that this thing would be a lot cooler if it was a subby only feature. I mean if you play your cards right and whore it enough, basically anyone can get up to 1,000,000 credits in a matter of a few minutes =/ just doesn't seem very fair to me. I think it would be cool to have as a subby only feature, and would attract a lot of people to become a subby =)

There should be a statistic somewhere of all the credits that got thrown to the ether, or to the house, whatever you want to call it.
And I question the legality of this when people are trading credits for money like in emerald's thread.

How does this bring up an issue with how people spend their credits? If they wanted to, they could just GIVE their credits to someone anyway. The fact that they were gambled doesn't change anything... only how the user came into possession of someone else's credits, which was always possible anyway.

P.S. I don't think FFR cares how donations are made... it's not like this is changing the worth of the actual dollar that arrives to them. Money is still being donated, whether credits were involved or not.

no, you can not be the house. the house really isn't taking anything for themselves... it's like... taking some of your credits, then laughing at you as they're flushed down the toilet.
and, if you question the 50/50 nature... for every time you lose, someone else wins. and, you'll see... if you play enough games, you go towards a 50% win percentage, just as the law of large numbers says you will.

The problem is, you originally bet a large number of credits, and then you don't have any left to bet large numbers on...so while you may have a 50/50 win/loss ratio, you can still be deep in the hole.

If I may, I suggest displaying the current user's win ratio on a page somewhere.
eg. On the history or top ten page, it should say your win ratio on it, rather than only knowing if you get on the top 10.

for everyone who didn't know. there is a way to make sure that you can have a higher increase in credits than decrease. ok it's like this... your first bet is a 50/50 percent so if you win then overall your chances of winning again are 25/75, because that would be your chancesof winning a 50/50 bet two times in a row. win again then your overall chances of winning become 12.5/87.5, and etc. so the person who has won 17 times the chances of that happening are .001525878906/99.99847412. so as you can see the chances are vary low to win 17 times in a row. yuck math. so to make sure you get a higher increase in credits bet low if you won two times in a row and if you loose two times in a row bet higher.
note* there is still a risk in this, after all it's gambling. have fun =D
