Tag! You're Gone!
Posted on: June 4, 2008, at 02:44:27pm

I disabled tagging across the entire forum.

-Tass

  1. they were pretty much pointless.

  2. Good job, tass. We just had tag-abuse anyways.

  3. Gotta agree. Nothing but stupid and irrelevant tags for the most part.
    Good choice.

  4. They could've been useful, but this is probably for the best.

  5. There were some funny ones in TGB, but other than that, useless.

  6. Thanks hunnybun.

  7. You get cookie now Tassy, *gives cookie to Tass*.

  8. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

  9. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!

  10. What was tagging? We had tagging? :S

  11. We had tags? I didn't notice them.

  12. lol, yeah wtf was tagging? well who poops a crap now.

  13. Thank god. A forum does not need tags.

  14. tags? what the hell are those?

  15. Users could put 'tags' on a thread so if you seach for something, it would also check tags on threads.

  16. Yea they were pretty much pointless. We got stuff like "Become GURU!!! in 3 days
Tags: poop monkey guru cardtricks tassrooolz"
    So yeah, good choice tass

  17. Good choice.

  18. Yay? I never noticed the tags on threads

  19. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

  20. I loved tags. ):

  21. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
    HOW COULD YOU
The best PART about tags was that they were stupid and irrelevant! THEY WERE FUN.
    YOU'RE ALL FUN-HATERS.

  22. God damnit tass you ruin everything that was good on ffr </////////////////3
how can i easily find all the ffr lps in one list now!?

  23. Make the search engine better and I'll forgive you.

  24. Tags were awesome what the hell bring them back this instant.

  25. Adding FFRspace was a terrible sin... BUT THIS?!
GET OUT OF MY HOUSE HOMESLICE, YOU'RE FIRED.

  26. I didnot even get to use one =(. And they were awesome.

  27. I liked the tags when anyone could add them. Stepmania Scores had some hilarious ones, but I guess it could be for the better seeing as they couldn't be changed by average people anyway

  28. cockpolisher was my favorite tag.

  29. comment votes was such a cool idea

  30. The most disappointing thing to happen to the forums in a long while.

  31. They had potential. Potential to be misused in an entertaining matter. And they were misused in an entertaining matter.

  32. hahaha I have no clue what tags are lol

  33. Thank fucking god. They were without a doubt one of the most annoying things I've ever seen, and getting rid of them was an excellent move.

  34. damn TGBers voting down our comments

  35. All the down votes just mean we're right.

  36. NO =[ some were actually pretty funny :]

  37. I assure you that it is not just tgbers that are upset about this

  38. Even though they were potentially irrelevant and useless, you got a good laugh at it. Though I'd bet you guys can find a good laugh elsewhere. OHAI YOUTUBE. Cockpolisher, haha. Good one...

  39. Okay, I'm not a tgber and I think this was a bad move, I all the people against probably have no or very little sense of humor and it is probably things that are not very funny, however the people with a big sense of humor actually had fun with the tags and I didn't know about them until now and I wish I did know about them! Oh well, tess has spoken and what's done is done.

  40. WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY????????!

  41. Oh come on tags were wonderful. And even if they were just silly most of the time there definitely were good uses for them.

  42. I never noticed that comments with negative ratings become hidden.
I don't find tags useful, and they're often misleading.

  43. NNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

  44. this makes me sad on the inside i loved tags :C

  45. Finally

  46. They were nice while they lasted. Really no point to them though even though they were funny from time to time. I think FFYa should've had them kept though, just for kicks.

  47. Like what All_That_Chaz said, some were helpful.

  48. Just as much point to them as up/down voting

  49. It seems that a group of you think mass down voting will get your point across. It will not, and yes, I know who you are.

  50. LOL you tell em

  51. Tass, you suck :(

  52. can you get banned for voting a comment down

  53. For a while my down votes and up votes counted as two votes, was that a glitch? Sorry if I abused it too much.
The down votes does get a point across though even if it isn't our own point, but that doesn't really matter I guess.

  54. ya setaka better b carefull

  55. wow, are you serious?
You can get banned by expressing your own opinion about other members comments!
I'm sorry but that is severly messed up and MalDON yes I was down voting all the people who agreed with tass, you are really going to ban all the other people who did it to???

  56. You're about as smart as your username.

  57. I never said you would get banned, that is silly talk. There are a few of you that think it's funny to down vote everything. That might have to be addressed. Notice how everything down voted has around the same amount? That is because it's the same group of people. I'm not making any threats to them, other than the fact that their "rebellion" is not achieving anything.

  58. maybe they only vote down comments that they disagree with

  59. All I'm saying is that maybe before an admin takes action to removing or adding something that they should get the community's thoughts and opinions on that way the "rebellion" that you are referring to would never come to be and there will be no disappoint. Besides I thought the choices that the admins make are suppose to contribute to the whole community not the the veterens because if you see most of the people that agreed to the no tags are the more experienced players!

  60. I'm pretty sure all the admins agreed that the tags were a bad idea.

  61. But shouldn't the admins be concerned how the community is going to feel about changes like these. I mean that is one of their main purposes is to serve the community or at least I thought?

  62. A lot of negative votes for those in favor. Apparently the taggers are taking this rather hard :D

  63. If every user on the site gets 1 vote... every subbie would get 5 votes... every staff member would get 20 votes... then every admin would get 100,000,000 votes. And I can assure you... every single admin agrees that tags are bad, mmmkay?

  64. Oh yea... also... tags were an INCIDENTAL addition to the forums with the vB upgrade. We never wanted them in the first place, and it was somewhat of a mistake that they were put in place in the first place. I only just discovered how to completely remove them, and so I did. End of story.

  65. never used the tags. thought they were pointless. good job tass. the search function worked just fine

  66. Voting is weighted? Where's the equality here?!

  67. Lol 3/5 vote.

  68. Haha Mal I wasn't saying anything by mass downvoting the comments maligning the seemingly much-hated tags. I thought it was funny more than anything. You know, using neat functionality for comical purposes. Like slapping users, or closing chats, or tags ;.;

  69. talk about being a cynic. Yeah, I thought tags were funny while they lasted and knew they'd be eliminated eventually. But it's not like the downvoting is nothing more than another funny ploy, you know, just like the tags.

  70. Tags actually did have uses though. It organized certain threads together like the ffr lps. It could also have been easier to organize other threads like those that concerns official ffr threads (actual difficulty thread, tier point thread, etc). Not to mention you just eliminated a whole new medium for forum humor. Could we at least be given actual reasons as to why they were removed?

  71. Yes, tags are useful, but not on a forum. The built in search feature works just as well.

  72. So I just read the reasons Tass gave and they were pretty reasonable. But if it's possible to disable tags in certain forums then I don't see why they shouldn't just disabled them in privatized forums. In this way, tags will still be able to retain it's use but it wont be abused to look at threads in private forums.

  73. Oh well. :(

  74. Awwwww :(

  75. yea never used them

  76. Thank GOD!!! I don't care about the down votes! They sucked! XP

  77. Tags sucked because they're a waste of database size. If people want to find something more easily on a forum then just like C&P the URL to a specific post or something... Well, I don't really know... haha

  78. wtf is a tag? LOLOL

  79. I like how everyone downed the comment if it said anything in the line of "Yeah, good thing they're gone, too." or "We had tags? ; Wtf are tags?" But yeah.. the tags were pointless as hell.

  80. -2 0.o wow you're real mature who ever is downing >.>

  81. god dammit FFR.

  82. neobludragon: How can someone be immature if they disagree with something via down voting?
Smarten up. I down vote comments like your solely because I disagree with them, or I just hate the person. ;P

  83. For once I actually agree with irishknight.

  84. Tass is gone ? HOOO TAGS sry, good thing Pce.

  85. Tags took up valuable space, and they were unneccary.
P.s. Just so you know, this comment is un-down votable! ;)

  86. Damn. Just damn. :(

  87. They didn't take up any space are you kidding me

  88. @virus003
    scrollin' scrollin' scrollin'...

  89. I HATE YOU SO MUCH TASS

  90. I say add them back to TGB and call it good.
