It's that time of the year where I crawl from under my rock to play FFR only to be eliminated 2nd round. :D

Hope I remember to come back and play first round...hehehe

Update 1:
6/27/25 - 5:26pm server time
I am in Bracket 2...whatever that means. (shrug) I didn't watch previews so I have no idea what I'm going into.

Bracket 1: Baby (Lv26)
Sight-read AAA - 25,550

Round 1: Dan Dan Hayaku Naru (Lv.40)
Sight-read - 2G - 38.71 - 46,650

I can probably AAA this. More attempts to come.

7/4/25 - 8:55am server time
Soooooooooooooo... I played the file twice, got 2G twice, then didn't play the rest of the week. It was good enough to get me to my kryptonite round. So let's see how this goes.

Bracket 1: When Sandwiches Come A Knockin' (Lv.34)
Sight-read: Blackflag - 24,625
I can't jack. :( That was a fun song to play tbh. I might go back and try to AAA it.

Backet 2: Caramel Pain (Lv.48)
Sight-read: 4G - 45.51 - 55,950

Why so many jacks and triplets.... I can probably at least flag this. This first three goods were me mistiming the bpm changes. If the round doesn't turn AAA or die, I think I should be ok with a flag...maybe?

7/11/25 - 4:29pm server time
Not gonna lie, I played the previous round's file all the way through one time, isolated the problem spot, played it again and got more goods. Didn't bother to come back any time because 4G was good enough. :D

As usual, I never watch previews because that's all I'll be thinking about. Let's see how I do this round. :O

Bracket 1: (a bunch of w's) (Lv. 37)
Sight-read: 2G - 34,400
I got a good in the first four notes. I wasn't ready for the notes to pretty much already be on the screen when the song started. What is this? OtP?? (lul)

Bracket 2: Run (Lv. 56)
Sight-read: 27-0-1-4 - 72,460 - 29.6
Oh that felt wrong to play. Mirror mod is off, no wonder. ugh. Definitely playing this one again. I'll return with more attempts.

7/12/25 - 9:30am server time
22-0-0-0 - 72,650 - 22.0
I did better. But still not what I'm capable of doing on a Lv. 56 song. I should be able to get low teens or SDG this file. The rust is real.

7/14/25 - 10:17pm server time
19-0-0-0 - 72,725 - 19.0
I can scrape off some goods from this as long as I can keep my nerves in check. Been playing around with my offsets too and I think I got a good one for this file. Don't know if 19 will be good enough to go on for this one.

....this should be way less goods. Didn't let the nerves get to me as much as before.

YAY ME. I did what I wanted to do on this file and what I knew I could get. SDG hype!! :D :D :D

I made it to the 4th round. I am proud of me. :D As usual, I'm going in completely blind. Also, I'm kinda sleepy, so I probably shouldn't be playing right now...lol

Bracket 1 - Longing for Earth (Lv.45)
Sight-read: 6G - 47,750
As of now, I'd be in 3rd overall if I was in Bracket 1. Top 5 move on to the next round. I could shave off at least half, if not flag this file. All the jump steps makes it annoying for me.

Bracket 2 - MIRROR (Lv.63)
Sight-read: 42-0-0-4 - 48,380 - 42.8 - 9:38pm server time
Interesting file. I can do better on this. Doesn't seem like too far out of my range as far as the patterns go. More attempts to come when I'm not half-asleep.
Honestly, I won't be mad if I'm eliminated this round. These players have much better accuracy than me, but we'll see how much I can improve over the next week. I'm setting a personal goal to get under 20G on this file.

Played around with offsets. This should have at least been a FC, but a loud rumble of thunder scared me...hahaha

...so I took off mirror mod and almost got my goal...go figure.

I reached my personal goal!! :D

Final Update: 7/27/25 - 12:46pm server time
Eliminated in 9th place.
Honestly, I'm not mad or disappointed. I think I did really well considering how much I don't play this game. 60s are usually my top-out and it's nice to get past the 2nd round.
Had a lot of fun playing and good luck to those who are still in the hunt for the top spot. :)
