PS3 status update!

Apparently the source of my woes is a factory defect in the blu-ray laser. This defect caused the lasers on certain PS3 to crap out after an abnormally short time (about a year.) Some person on a help website identified the problem, and stated that if your PS3 is less than a year old and has the receipt with it, they will fix for free. However, I got mine for Christmas last year, so no receipt. I might have to pay $150 for repair/replacement! But, someone else had this problem on a recent date and called up, and got his system replaced at no cost. There may still be hope yet!
