Poem I Wrote For No Reason

The girl I once knew is dead,
Can't quite remember what she said,
I try to remember her dying words.
Now her body hidden in birds,
I look into her cold dead eye,
I give her a final kiss good-bye,
Then look into the star filled sky.
I slowly start to walk away,
What a horrible way to end my day.
I lay down on my bed,
Still trying to remember those words she said.
I get up in a haste,
No use letting this go to waste.
I bury a knife into my chest,
And close my eyes before my final breath.
I fall by God's watchful eye,
Did I really want to die?
I smile sadly to myself,
Before this day I though I had good wealth.
I slowly start to cry,
And take one more glance into the sky.
I now sit here in Hell,
I remember those words clear as a bell.
I now remember what she said,
Even though we both lay dead.
