Slow Site Tonight

Posted in Uncategorized on January 27th, 20047 Comments »

You may have noticed that this and a few other servers are somewhat slow tonight. I believe this is due to the maybe hundred thousand emails that must be vigorously scanned and tagged on this server because of some new virus worms that are out there. Checking into it deeper and will have a results for you guys shortly.. Sorry for the slowdown.

Cheers,

New Song by DJ RageVI

Posted in Uncategorized on January 26th, 200414 Comments »

Following in the footsteps of SquareBear, DJ RagVI has created his own stepfile for his new song “Abtrusity” which is available to play in the secret song genre of FFR. Of course you will need a certain amount of credits to see the song. :)

Great job RageVI! I really enjoyed the stepfile. It seemed to flow with the song really well which made it very enjoyable. I also can see in the stats that hundreds of people have already found this song and are playing it.

If you guys enjoy RageVI’s work, make sure you stop by the FFR store and purchase one of his music pack’s. They are only $3.50 for quite a few songs and are delivered via download instantly after purchase. The profits go directly to RageVI with a portion to FFR for server costs etc. Thanks to all of you who continue to support FFR.

Cheers,

Synthlight

*EDIT* On a side note, one of the challenge mode bugs were fixed. If you do not have enough credits to play the challenge, it won’t allow you to play.

Other Radio shows:

2nd Wednesday of every month:

DJ SpookGoblin wreckin’ t3h deckz 8pm – 11pm

A live 3 hour set by DJ SpookGoblin. :)

I am sorry I cannot do my own shows more frequently, and will try to do at least two a month soon, but I am somewhat strapped for time on my days off of work.

SPECIAL RADIO CONTEST:

We will be holding a DJ battle contest if enough contestants sign up. There will be a special night of dj sets and public voting as well as judges to determine who the winner will be.

What is the prize?

1. Your own ffr radio show, should you so desire.
2. fifty (50) bucks (dollars).

From the date of this post there will be a two week period for contestants to enter. To enter, send me a private message TO ME (not synthlight) with the following information:

Your real name, your dj name, styles you mix, and a short bio.

I will not be entering this competition, because I don’t think it would be in good spirits for myself to compete in my own contest.

I hope we get enough people interested so we can make this happen. Tell your friends about it. Tell them about FFR radio, too. I hope to get more shows of a wider variety out there for everyone to enjoy. Welcome to FFR radio ;)

cheers,

-Spook

As the week progresses we will see more definate schedules from everyone and will post them as soon as we find out.

Synthlight

*EDIT* Cynipin is done for the night. Thanks a bunch Cynispin for the set. See you next weekend. :)

Brunswick Zone in Naperville

Posted in Uncategorized on January 23rd, 200425 Comments »

Is this a newsworthy item? Probably not but I am too lazy tonight to click twice and post in the forum ;) .

For those of you who don’t know, I live near Chicago. I frequent a place called the Brunswick Zone which has 2 DDR machines setup in this “crater” in the middle of the arcade area. I have noticed that lately the DDR machines there have been attracting a larger number of people. Has anyone also noticed this? Maybe it had to do with Ultramix being released.. Maybe it has to do with FFR (heh!). I seriously don’t know. What is funny though is the fact that I take my little 2 year old son there and we bum around for 2 hours. It always feels strange because here I am, with my son looking like the young dad type and nobody there has any idea that I am hooked into the DDR community (host ddrmaniax and mirror for DWI and Stepmania through ddrmaniax + own and created FFR). Yet it doesn’t bother me and I definately never mention it to anyone there. It is just good to see people still enjoying DDR and for the most part it still seems to pull people together socially.

Soo.. If you ever see this guy walking around with a 2 year old red haired little boy that insists on standing 8 feet or more away from the skee-ball machine when he throws the balls, that’s me.. but don’t get too close.. My son’s aim is horrible.

Cheers,

Synthlight

Time to Reflect

Posted in Uncategorized on January 21st, 200430 Comments »

It is about time that we look back at FFR and look hard at the songs of the past. While many of these are classics, many need to be fixed due to being converted with the very first versions of my DWI to FFR converter or even worse no converter was used at all and my realtime beat recorder was used. which.. well.. if my timing 1 1/2 years ago was better it would have produced better results.

Anyway. We are now compiling a list of glitched songs. (Yes we already know them all) and will be posting songs that are fixed.

The first cleanup goes to:

1. Rondo Alla Turca in the Classicl section.
*FINISHED*

*EDIT* Forgot to mention the new secret song up. Thanks to Bladerunner and Jello
