Below is a description of tracks as described by SuperGreenX himself.

Synesthetic is the culmination of a little over a year’s worth of music writing for me. I always try to write in a variety of different electronic styles and to convey a variety of different feelings with my music. I hope that listening through the album is a fun ride for everyone! Thanks to all those who listen. If you want more info or more music, check out

1)

Tell Me a Story - Melody, beats, awesome bass synth, great atmosphere. One of my best. If someone asks, “What does SGX sound like?” point them to this song. Heavily inspired from the group Hybrid.

2)
Activity Unbroken -
Good, driving, techno with a hot lead synth and sweet sounds. You might recognize the loop played in the FFR menus; it’s from this song.

3)
Halcyon -
Nice, chill, ambient groove. It’s quite short, but sweet.

4)
Burnout* -
Oldie but goodie. Fast, intense, agressive, energetic hard trance.

5)
Adjusting to Reality -
Atmospheric, dark, slow groove in 5/4 time. Features a bunch of strings and interesting synth textures. This is one of my personal favorites.

6)
Soul Shift* -
This is a chill song with a calm trance beat, dreamy delayed piano, and nice pads. Relaxing and nice. It’s pretty old, but the FFR fans have been requesting it, so it’s on the album.

7)
Contradistinction -
This piece is crazy! Starts out with some nice orchestral chords and then some chill beats. Very atmostpheric. Then, halfway through the song speed on everything is doubled and a phat bassline busts out. Two different interpretations of one theme. Check it out. It’s chill, atmospheric, orchestral, agressive, hard, and energetic all in one track!

8)
When I Close My Eyes* -
Ambient soundscape created entirely from heavily edited bits and pieces from most of the songs on this album.

9)
Unsteady Unsure –
Orchestral melodies, effected drums, and some weird synth textures combine for a somewhat experimental song.

10)
Multiple Worlds -
Song I did for a (weird) class project. The assignment was to create a representation of multiple worlds theory through some sort of art. So, I began with a really simple piano and string intro, built three different songs off of that and then brought them back all at once at the end. It combines a lot of different styles. Its got some happy hardcore-ish stuff, some groove, some orchestral.

11)
Thinking Different -
Hot beat, cool pads, interesting stuff. Somewhat unorthodox sounds in this one. Check it out. It’s jammin’.

12)
soulsight -
Somewhat a sequel or “sister song” to Soul Shift. You’ll notice some dreamy delayed piano and pads somewhat like Soul Shift. Cool atmospheric sounds and ambience with nice, legato string melody.

13)
Synesthetic (featuring Russ Anderson) -
This is a big, energetic, melodic trance tune with a tight breakbeat section in the middle. My friend Russ Anderson agreed to do a little scratching on the track which spices things up considerably.

14)
Saved* -
A bonus track for those who bought the CD. This is a cut down version of my ICO remix “Save Me” with all of the material from the song in the game cut out. Everything you hear in this is original material by me.

* – Exclusively on Synesthetic.

Total time: 68:18

Several tracks have smooth transitions between eachother. Hope that sounds cool!

Enjoy!

The Simfiles

Posted in Uncategorized on March 1st, 20042 Comments »

We are currently working on the simfile section and will be adding features to it all week long. Please excuse any strangeness that you may see during this time.

Everyone should be able to upload their simfiles if you have some that you think are worthy. Uploads will be checked for quality by the admins.

Cheers,

Synthlight

In search of a new look

Please excuse the change of themes tonight. I will be playing with the look a bit. Comments are welcome. Will probably change it back in the morning.

I will put up a poll for voting on this new theme.

*EDIT* I Have switched back to the old look this morning.

Simply File Those Thoughts Away

FFR has been a long time supporter of the DDR community (obviously) and as of late we have been bombarded with requests to open a simfile database where users could upload/download non-ffr simfiles. I personally have worked my butt off the last 5 days to put this section together with the advice of Arch0wl, Aperson, Mwerp, Jello, Reach and a few others. I think you will find the results are nothing less than pleasing. :)

This simfile database is intended for DWI/Stepmania files and NOT for FFR files. All FFR submissions will still need to be submitted through the forums in the audio submission forum. The simfile database on the other hand will let you upload a thumbnail, zipfile and all important simfile information into the database. Please keep all simfiles below 5mb. Anything larger will be rejected. You are responsible for everything you upload, uploading of anything illegal will result in an immediate IP ban and file removal.

For an evolving set of rules.. Please go here –> http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&t=8567&highlight=simfile

You can find the simfile section here –> http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=zMP3ree&file=index&cat=16

More to come soon on this including a full list of simfile database moderators etc. Thanks again to all the people who insisted we do this. I think it will be worth the hard work. I will post more about this new section tomorrow when I have had some sleep. Long live the DDR/FFR community!

Kibbles and Bits

2 things to announce tonight. None of which have to do with my previous announcement.

1) Arch0wl will be on the FFR Radio tonight (hi-bandwidth only) playing IIDX 10th style songs for atleast an hour. He may even chat a bit or take requests. Join the chat room “FFR” on AIM (invite yourself) if you want to hang out while he is DJ’ing tonight.

2) I will probably make a more official notice but GameFaqs.com is putting up a contest for most popular game of all time. One of the categories is “online only/web” and I will do everything short of giving out my development secrets if you guys would wonder on over there an vote for FFR. If we can get just an 1/8th of our 233,000+ members to vote, we will be in good shape. :)

The URL is http://cgi.gamefaqs.com/contest/contest_spr04_nom.asp

And then for System choose: Online-Only/Web

For Game Title: Flash Flash Revolution

Thanks for the votes!! Enjoy the show tonight.

Things to Come

Posted in Uncategorized on February 24th, 200429 Comments »

Just wanted to give everyone an update on things to come for FFR in the next month.

We are working hard on version .68 which will again bring something revolutionary to FFR. Unfortunately my title of “Super Secret Squirrel” forbids me from giving out information concerning this next version. We have no definate release date but we are working very very hard to complete this version ASAP. I can think of multiple people that would really enjoy this new version update.

FFR T-Shirts are being finalized right now and will soon be sent off to the printers. We will start taking orders within the next week. I will probably start with 1 or 2 designs at first and see how well the sales go. Not a dime of the money from t-shirt sales will be pocketed. All money goes towards FFR development and server costs (which is unimaginable).

First CD’s for sale in the Music@FFR store will be available most likely in the next 2 weeks. These CD’s will be printed in full color with inserts etc..etc.. and shipped to your door within a few days of ordering. The price of CD’s will include shipping for customers within the United States. There will be a small charge for customers outside the US. Again, profits go towards maintaining FFR and directly to the artists that create the CD’s. We have a target price of $10-$12 for each CD and that includes shipping as I stated above.

Cheers,

Synthlight

Super Green X DJ’n On FFR Radio

Posted in Uncategorized on February 18th, 20047 Comments »

Haroon Piracha (aka FFMusic DJ) Submits First Music Pack to FFR

Posted in Uncategorized on February 17th, 20044 Comments »

Haroon Piracha (aka FFMusic DJ) is most commonly known for his popular Final
Fantasy remixes on Ocremix.org. Just recently he was nice enough to make a
unique song around SGX’s name (SGX Runnymorning mix). We gladly accepted it and
quickly turned it into a level.

Haroon has been so kind as to provide us with 5 original songs for sale as a
music pack in the Music@FFR store which is accessible
HERE.
Each song is in 192kbit/s high quality Mp3 and is immediately available for
download when you purchase it. Profits go directly to Haroon and a small portion
goes towards the costs of running the FFR server. Many thanks to the people that
support us through the Music@FFR store. These people are making it possible to
keep FFR 100% free and at the same time push development forward (like the
challenge mode feature etc.). Thank you again everyone who purchases these packs. We
appreciate it more than you know.

Haroon has long been a talented remixer and musician, we are proud to have
his music on FFR and I am sure we will see more from him in the future.

If you would like to download and listen one of his free remixes, you can get
it

HERE
on FFR. The remix is called String Machine (Corel Prison Remix) From
Final Fantasy. This track is a Trance arrangement blending the year 2000 Trance
style and Uematsu’s "Sandy Badlands" from the Playstation RPG Final Fantasy 7.
He attempted to make a song capturing the lifelike/energetic feel that ran
through the repetitive gender of trance, and mix it with the tune of Uematsu’s
Final Fantasy 7. It is remastered through fresh new mixing hardware/software.

William Hung.. Yes, William Hung

Posted in Uncategorized on February 15th, 200423 Comments »

Maybe once or twice a century does a new musical artist break onto the scene with such an explosive force that they cannot be denied every crevice of our daily lives. Such an artist has now been included on FFR to help promote their pop-icon status even further.

No artist has been more deserving than the man, the myth, the singing and dancing LEGEND — William Hung.

Please go to http://www.williamhung.net and sign their online petition to bring this amazing talent back to Hollywood and back to American Idol. I fear he is our last true music hope.

We have included his performance as a level on FFR.. Misc section.. I hope you enjoy the level as much as Jello does.

Thank you William
Thank you Jello
Thank you greater power for providing us with this musical master

Cheers,
