The Games We Played, Part 5
It’s been one hell of a week, not just for me, but for all of FFR. I’ve spent probably 10 hours just getting these files ready for FFR, but I got it all done, and you all have 5 new simfiles to play.
Tonight, we put TGWP part 5 in the game. The last part of the song. I was wrong when I said that part 3 was the longest part. Part 5 is just a few seconds longer. The other parts have been really nice and emotional, and this one is even more so. The ending blows me away…it’s almost too epic. You guys probably know what to expect, with the other simfiles.
The whole song is just over 17 minutes long, and has 2000 (Yes, two thousand) manually found bpm changes. What is manually found? I found all of the bpm changes using nothing but my ears. It took me two months from start to finish to make this file. Over 40 hours in the editor in stepmania, which is unheard of… Making a file like this, synced so nicely was so hard to do. I almost thought I would go insane when I was at the end. The last 40 seconds of the song was VERY hard to hear and sync, but as you can all see, I did it.
Why would I make such a file? I wanted to make a simfile that matched what I felt towards the girl I love. To do that, I would have to make the perfect simfile. With The Games We Played, I think I did so. There is no other simfile that is like this. She gave me the will to start and finish this simfile. It was an intense two months, but I finished it and the results are outstanding! She is the one person that gave me the ability to do this. Sadly, right now we’re having a little trouble with our relationship. I don’t know what will happen right now, if she’ll leave or if she’ll stay. All I can do now is hope for the best.
And with that, I give you all The Games We Played Part 5. The last part of the song.

Well, tonight I found out the truth. Me and her were on a “break” from each other as of two weeks ago. I found out tonight that it wasn’t just a break, it was a complete break up. This sucks…really bad. I put so much time into perfecting TGWP because of her, and she’s probably gone. It almost makes me feel like I wasted my time.
But…I know I didn’t completely waste my time. I know that even if it was or wasn’t made for her, it’s still one of the best simfiles ever made if not the best. I accomplished one of my ultimate goals in this game: to make one of the best simfiles ever.

I also wanted to thank all of you guys for your amazing feedback regarding not just this song, but for all of the recent SotW’s AND for Shash’s fixing of many other songs. Originally, we planned to release only Part 1 of TGWP with MAYBE adding another part or 2 a few weeks or months down the road… but the response we saw from everyone made us realize that we needed to add in the entire song. And look where that has led us.

It feels as though I can feel your emotions through the steps man.
It makes me feel like i’m in a state of meditation during the whole thing.
Except when i’m going to the next part and hear the ffr music.
So I agree with most, Slap it all together when you have some time, and put it as a full 17 minute long song if the Servers can handle it.
It would be greatly appreciated and i’m sure everyone also has an imense amount of respect for you.

You realize that we now have TGWP partys in multiplayer? You have changed the game rebirth and i think you have accomplished your goals. Thanks for providing FFR with the best simfile ever made.

All of these comments on these simfiles have really cheered me up, even after what happened tonight. Thanks guys. I hope to bring more great simfiles to FFR in the future.
About the girlfriend thing, yeah, it sucks but I’m going to quickly move on. I’d like to find someone less than 30 miles away from KC that plays FFR or something. That would be cool.

Rebirth, don’t let her bring you down. There’s many others along the path. You really mastered this set and even if she isn’t there to give you will, there’s FFR. You made the best simfile I’ve ever seen, and probably most on here ever has seen. As I play them, I felt really into them, not like it’s a challenge to stay on track as many song are, but as if you’re playing the song. You probably felt that before. It’s really magnificent.

ya….. me thinks this simfile has something to do with her leaving you. my x-gf didn’t like stepmania/ddr/itg at all and everytime something came up about it she would flip out. but life goes on, we were together for over a year… but shit happends. find a girl who loved arrow stomp as much as you do.

I love this series, they are the most fun stepfiles I have played in a LONG time, and I must say the mose colorfull too ^-^” and the whole GF thing really sux too… all I can say is stay happy and feal better, you may have made these for her, but now many people can see how much you can care about someone or something, and I thank you for all this, I have put alot of bored time into this ^-^’ tkz man and feal better

No actually, she was blown away by this simfile. She absolutely loved it, it wasn’t because of this that she left.
I don’t really know if my main reason to make this simfile was for her or not. I wanted to make it anyway, and I think I just let myself think that it was something for her so it would keep me fueled so I could really finish it. Considering that it takes me a month or two to finish a normal simfile, finishing this simfile in two months is one of the greatest accomplishments ever.

This song, especially part one is hard altogether but seems easier when you read the whole story under part 5. I felt i was in the song doing the steps rather than trying to listen to complicated music with complicated arrows. Oh and one more thing: I feel really sorry for you. I’ve had the same experience. My girlfriend said she wanted to have some time away from me and the next time i heard of her she had moved. I was crying.

Aww man, that sucks. The last thing you want to know is that you accomplished a big thing and then later knowing that one of the other biggest things in your life are gone. You’re strong man, don’t forget it. Making that 17 min. song is torterous and knowing that you completed it makes everyone happy and proud of who you are and what you’ve done.
We respect you and I hope everything will be better from now on.

Wow… this is so amazing. Challenging without being over the top, and a real joy to play. I concurr. You should put it all together as a 17 minute song… I’d play it all the time!

Outstanding job on TGWP, Rebirth. It’s definitely one of the best simfiles on FFR. Everyone’s sorry about you and your relationship, but we’re sure we will support you to hang in there. :] Who knows… maybe something better will come out of it!

Again, AWSOME job on that stepfile Rebirth. LOVED it, but, i’ll say it again, that the FFR music switching from parts is distracting. Just slap the parts together as a purchased or secret song. BTW, i live 200 miles from kansas but i’m not a girl.

Your a good person and have enjoyed playing your game since 2003…and i think somethings can suck at times but you are doing something great for people….being able to connect and have a feeling of..don’t know what the word is but, thanks for this site…it helped get through a lot of school to play your game..haha…keep up the good work…

Rebirth….I didn’t realize how brilliant your stepping was until like, today….The ‘speed changes’ are really 8th and 16th and all the others, yet look the same color. I have to say I must really be slow. Anyways, it’s truly amazing. The scrolling speed of the arrows never actually changes, just the timing of the arrows (which is perfectly synced) Really just amazing, you’re a born musician, with amazing patterns I might add. These are beyond all other songs made ever. This is truly the best stepping. Ever. Congratulations. (I’ll shut up now lol)

I know it sounds kind of nerdy, but being older, The Games We Played litterally brought a tear to my eye, it brought me back to the days when I had no stresses and I just gamed like a little kid; when I realized those days are pretty much over it made me sad, because all of the games that are played on the piano (litterally epic) were the games I grew up with, the games that helped shape my very life. I’m glad this was made. You have my props for the whole series of step files.

This is the best epic of songs ever. I don’t know much about the commodore songs, but the others really took me back. If I had one word to describe this masterpiece, well that would be it… “masterpiece”

Yeah, I have to say…this is the most impressive simfile I have ever seen. I can’t believe I was the one who made it, but I am. That’s awesome. I want to step more piano songs like this, but sadly, I just can’t find anything epic enough haha
About the girlfriend thing, it was probably the right thing to do. She didn’t really love me or anything, I don’t think. I found someone else already, who I think is better than the girl I made this simfile for. (Funny how we all say that the next girl is always better than the last) but at least this time I know that she loves me. That is what makes her better.
