This also means you get three extra new songs this week!
Within Life by Boyinaband & Kaveh (mi40) – Diff: 66 / 2:43 / Rock /Modern Rock
Blackout by Breathe Carolina (gameboy42690) – Diff: 48 / 2:02 / Dance 2 / Electro House
Still Blastin’ by Nemesis Theory (TC_Halogen) – Diff: 69 / 1:53 / Arcade / Chiptune Breakbeats
With these releases we welcome two new artists to FFR. One is Boyinaband, whom enjoys rhythm games himself. He has a lot of cool things on his website, including music making tutorials. You can check out his music and tutorials on any of these pages: His Website, Youtube, and Soundcloud. He also has a band called You and What Army. He gave us permission to use the music from there. Check out his band here.
We also welcome Breathe Carolina to FFR. We’ve actually had this permission for some time now, but no one had stepped it. Some of you may recognize this song, as it has been on the radio, or if you’re an ITG player, you’ve most likely tried out the ITG chart before. You can check Breathe Carolina out on their Myspace.
We also welcome gameboy42690 to the simfile author group, as this win has gotten him his first chart in game. Congrats!
On another note the Halloween banner contest is now closed for submissions. I will be announcing the winners later today. The costume and pumpkin carving contest are still open for submissions, so get those in! Also, don’t forget to get your files submitted to the batch.
Happy Keysmashing!

not first. Also, really happy that I won Still Blastin’; it was my first attempt at a song that had quite a few 8-bit components and I think it came out well.

All 3 songs were really fun, I especially enjoyed Within Life.

I liked all of the songs and I love the idea of a stepping contest. It helps bring cool charts into the game.

This must have been weighted. Have you seen how trashy the step is for Within Life? it’s almost immobilizing it was so bad.

I thought it was funny to. You didn’t deny the truth.

6 different judges gave a number rating 1 – 10 they were averaged. There’s nothing special here.

devil, if you’re going to sit here and be rude, you’re leaving yourself open to be rude too. I’ll spare you this time, but keep in mind that I was one of the people who judged your file — not for nothing (and not to be narcissistic), but I’m typically considered one of the most detailed/fair judges and I was judging in this contest for two groups (Within Life/Blackout). I will say this: you have no place to be rude to others, nor do you have the place to comment on charts being bad while saying it as fact because it simply isn’t.

I wasn’t rude! Lets just call me the Simon Cowell of judging.
Posted at 11:35am on October 30th, 2012
You were rude. You’re saying that the winning chart was “horribly bad”, when your submission was horrible mess and (I’m sure, because I judged it too) received the lowest ratings out of any judge. You are in absolutely no place to be judging what files are good and what aren’t, so you really should stop right now while you’re ahead.

Glad to be ahead

My favorite of the three was Still Blastin, although I wasnt a fan of the white notes in the beg, the file overall was fun. Blackout was my second favorite, not bad for a first file in game. Within Life I didnt like. Not even going to say it was my least favorite because it was not even close to being enjoyable for me. The song was pretty neat, the chart was what I didnt like, just felt bleh and not fun, then again looked who stepped it lol.
