Song(s) of the Week!
Posted in Uncategorized on August 29th, 2006
This week’s first FFR Song of the Week is called Hungarian Dance #5, by Brahms. It’s a famous upbeat classical piece from the mid 1800′s that’s been featured in movies, TV, cartoons, and commercials for years–you’ve probably heard it before. Difficulty is moderate, and it should be fun for players of all skill levels, from the relative newbies to the veterans.
And yeah, this is not a senseless wall of rising arrows like EHHS was, don’t worry Hungarian Dance #5 can be found in the Classical genre of FFR (the game).

Shash’s file is great but obviously made lightly this time around.
Psycho’s is random whatever, kind of disapointing.

Not to big a fan of the actual music but Shash’s step is pretty awesome.

Songs with sliding BPMs don’t work too well on FFR.

Very nice, this song was much more higher on the “Newbifier scale of good songs” than EHHS. I have EHHS 1. Out of 100. This one got a 79. GJ!

#5 was good, #7… well… too short, the fact that there were yellow arrows without blue or red ones for a while was confusing…
#5: It’s good
#7: Bad.

… Very interesting choice of songs. #7′s going to be stuck in my head all day now.
Shash actually did a good job with #5. #7 to me just looks like it tries to be some sort of Caprice or FOTB for a few seconds, and then goes back to… Whatever it was trying to do.
One thing I never understood is why the red and blue arrows alternated places every few notes (like, you’ll have a stream of 5 16ths, but it goes red-yellow-blue-yellow-blue, but the last blue should be red. The same thing happened in Delerium I think.) Is it something to do with the song itself?

Heh. I think both are well done, shash’s a little more, yet phsycho’s was good for the song he stepped.

An update to the song of the week panel to the right of the home page will be needed. It still shows Mother of God as the song of the week.

I can’t believe you rejected mine in favor of this one.
What the hell

Seriously, I just played it a couple more times
There are a lot of parts that don’t make sense and the stream goes not only too fast, but to a part in the song that’s the equivalent of the background dancer in an Nsync contest, noone cares about them
Oh well just keep on accepting files that are easier to AAA instead of files that are fun, that’s cool, i’m sure FFR will go places that way

I love it! It’s one of my favorites now.
The steps are perfect for the song! It’s fun, and every step makes sense to me. I hope there’s another version for more advance players later.
If it was too short, it was because I was having so much fun!

Gonna go play it now. As long as it isn’t and uber impossible jumpspeed mega coma inducing file like the last ones. ILL BE COOL.

I have to say, I’m not really impressed with the version of Hungarian Dance #5 you chose to put in.
The stepfiles not bad, although a tiny bit off in some areas.
I love Brahms Hungarian Dance #5 and I enjoy playing it on piano even more so the version chosen for it kind’ve dissappointed me, the feel was all off.

These songs = easy. But EHHS was obviously made so Shash could test his limits and see if anyone else could match up to him..

7 is amazing, 5 sucks
Posted at 4:51pm on September 4th, 2006
5 is awesome; 7 NEEDS BPM changes and thus doesn’t belong on FFR.
