HYPE! An Evil 4 Letter Word. July: Month of the Skill Token!
Few things to share with you guys today. First off, I’d like to formally announce July as Skill Token Month. I know we had hinted at it before, but now it is official. We will be releasing SIXTY TWO skill tokens throughout the month of July… 2 per day, each and every day. Some reqs will be simple. Others will be insanely difficult. I’ll do my best to be original on all the reqs and match an easier req to an easier song. Once July starts, you can continue to check this page for all of your skill token update needs. Also, this thread is the official home for all things token related, but I suspect we’ll have a seperate thread specifically for this event. Big thanks to TheRapingDragon for maintaining that thread, big thanks to Brilliant Dyanmite Neon for all the past token images, and a personal big thanks to WhorliChan for all the skill token images that will be used in this event.
Now, you may be wondering how we can add 62 songs to the game and not run out of ones to add in the future. Well… we will be draining our queue to a big degree. It’ll drop from around 100 to 35 or so. But, thanks to all of our wonderful simfile authors, that queue just keeps filling back up and filling back up again. EVEN STILL… I’d like to take this time to let you all know, once again, that ANYONE can submit files to me for consideration to be added into the game. Check out this subforum for all things related to FFR Song Submissions and FFR Song Permissions. Because we DO have to have permission to use a song.
Which brings up my final point of discussion. A huge thanks to Rebirth0, jimerax, and everyone else who works so hard in getting us new artist permissions. One man has recently risen above the rest though, and I’d like to not only acknowledge it, but also let all of you know about all of the new Rock permissions he’s gotten us. DrugstoreCowboy is a one-man MySpace Emo/Rock permission machine. His recent permissions include: Kaddisfly, Racing Kites, The Perfect Mistake, Off Broadway, August Burns Red, A Billion Ernies, LoveHateHero… and those are just the blanket permissions. There are even more in the Permissions Subforum. HUGE thanks to DrugstoreCowboy.
So, to summarize: Crap-ton of new skill tokens in July means that I’m going to need a bunch more submissions to replenish the queue… and it just so happens that we have a huge new influx on Rock permissions to use for stepfiles.
You may now begin the praise. Be it for me, for the stepfile authors, the songwriters, the permission gatherers, the image makers. Or, heck, praise yourself!

Omega – Tass is handling the additions so that still leaves the rest of us free for other projects. I’m sure there will be items for subscribers and other projects will still continue on as normal.

Wow! That’s got to be a record, adding 2 songs a day for 31 days straight, 62 songs in one month. And there will still be SotW releases at 2 a week, right? July’s total releases will be even higher then. Amazing. I do hope that these skill tokens will vary in difficulty so that everyone can pick up some of them, even if they’re not top players.

My goal is 40 of them… I have a good hunch a fair portion of them will be outside the grasp of my skillz
But I am banking on getting at least 40 of them. YAY! CAN’T WAIT!!! SYNTH AND THE WHOLE CREW THAT MADE THIS POSSIBLE…. I LOVE/HATE YOU GUYS FOR THIS… Lol. Yeah, I love the # of tokens… but I hate the fact that some of them will most likely be as hard as Destiny V2 is to get.

That’ll be pretty crazy, about 70 songs released in a month, and thanks for answering my question(s) kwik and Tass. Should be fun to see the requirements for most of the new skill tokens, but I have a feeling if it’s something I cant unlock in 4 tries or less, it wont be attempted again for a loooong time

I hope that not too many of them require you to AAA anything, I always mess up once or twice. Took me nearly twenty tries just to AAA Free Space (Probably because I was using a laptop, which I suck at).
AAA ones always make me go crazy. If one or two goods was allowed for #12, I would have it already. Curse those AAA’s, even if they’re “imperfect”. =\
