FFRMas 2008 Epic Conclusion Of Awesome!
You may say… “Tass, you’re lazy and you didn’t give us any news stories about the previous few days!” And, you’d be right. But, there is madness behind my logic. Sort of. I wanted to let you all simmer and come to a slow boil, culminating in today’s over the top bonanza of filey goodness.
Let’s do a slight recap… we’ve had Shash and S.S.H., Virt and SHK, easy files and hard ones, Leeroy Jenkins and some Ladies To Which We Say HEY, kLutZ and KgZ… not to mention, RATO. To finish it all off, we’ve traveled Across Rooftops to Wish You A Merry Christmas while Church Bells chime for all!
 Recently added files include A World of Piano by kLutZ, a remix from FF7. Low VC, stepped by new syncing expert sc979. Also Funtastic Power’s 2nd song in FFR, both by Silver_Brian… Leeeeeerrroooooooooy Jenkins (Fun Times Mix). Lilium is a new difficulty 3 by first time stepfiler _.Spitfire._ and first time artist HellboundDochi… very melodic.Â
Reluctantly Accepting Temporary Overexhaustion, or RATO, has one of the longest names of any song in FFR. It also happens to be one of the hardest. Probably the hardest, outside of vROFL. Have fun with it… not much else I can tell y’all.

Across Rooftops is a great song by Virt, stepped by my main man jimerax. I released it on the 24th because it seemed decently appropriate… maybe Santa would be coming Across Rooftops while you play it. Low FGO, I believe. Also, a badass ethnic song by KgZ, The Lion’s Dance. Stepfile by Silvuh (his 2nd in this event, if you were keeping track). Not very difficult though… just a really fun song.
Finally, the files you’ve all been waiting for… Church Bells by Xi and We Wish You A Merry XMas (Jazzy Groove Mix) by OSTER Project. Both files are full of christmas spirit, even if you’re a fellow non-believer like myself. Church Bells is a solid FMO by Classic_Rocker & HighAndr0id. Merry XMas is, of course, by behanjc. It’s a VC.Â

I have to hand it to Tass though; he’s tactful enough to announce the addition of each file like it is a exemplary file of arrow-pushing fun, even if the file is absolutely horrible and has no playable value whatsoever. Good for you, Tass.
On a positive note, I’ve enjoyed most of the releases for this event, so it was pretty successful all-in-all.

The event was somewhat disappointing. The files where mostly dumps, though there are those great ones that are enjoyable instead a mashaholics paradise. Also “Please send all hate mail to dood gone krazee or Terminal 11.” Actually I’d send it to the step artist and whom ever allowed those monstrosities in the game.

I do feel a bit bad for DGK, he did get a file in game, but the difficulty of that chart is absolutely ridiculous. Sure, people want harder songs, but I think this is a bit over the line. All in all, a good event.

Heavy layering is fine, but RATO stepped 48th rolls to a sound that was quite audibly a hold; there wasn’t a single other sound in a lot of those. Honestly, I don’t know how it even got accepted, but it makes me a little more secure about the quality of the files I’ll be submitting to the queue. If RATO can make it and my files can’t, I’ll be damned.

RATO as a token is a really good idea. There are a few files on this website that make me homicidal, and RATO is one of them.
Also, I don’t personally hate dgk or anything. I’m glad his file got in, but god damn, it’s a fucking awful shitdump of a file. I’m sure he knows.
Wanted to ask about the difficulty on some of these songs…Leeroy specifically. Is that really a 5? o_O

RATO is fine, it’s a super hard technical file that FFR never had (every arrow actually goes with the music) and completely different from DP or vrofl. CCCP might be similar to this, but the concept like this won’t be used again in the future so don’t worry.

I just wanted to say thank you for the new songs. I dont know why alot of people are bitching, any new song is a good song regardless, I mean, if you dont like it, dont play it!
Also since only one other person ( #53 ) said it, I agree, A World of Piano is AMAZING, and my favorite of all the holiday releases. Thank you for the event and the new songs.
