FFRMas 2008 Day 3 – Long Post Is Long!
OK… so let’s make up for all the stuff I didn’t do the past few days:
Fei Longer is now synced. Difficulty is a low 10. Somehow, in the sync process, we lost 2 arrows… so I had to wipe a few scores. Sorry. Clear your cache to get the properly synced and correctly arrow’d version. If you like Star Salzman, check out his site and download his tunes. And yes hi19… the file is a jackdump.
The 2 files for today are Forgotten Planet by Rushjet1 and bmv.578 by OSTER Project. Forgotten Planet is far, far easier than most of the Rushjet you know, but it has that same 8-bit sound. This is Patashu’s first public release, although you can expect another of his files to hit the public in about 10 days. Expect many more good charts by him too! This one is only a Standard, a 5.
bmv.578 may sound slightly familiar to some people… it’s only 1 small letter off from what it’s based on, which is Bach’s Little Fugue in G Minor, aka BWV.578. To me, it’s a high FMO for the 5 repetitive jack sections, specifically the long up jacks. They sure give me fits. Regardless, the song is amazing and the chart is excellent. Props to dag12 for it. You should all play it now… there is nothing better than well stepped and synced classical charts.
Many people are touting ElectricWerewolf’s Night and Day chart as the best file they’ve played in a long time. So you should play it too. It really is cool. For one, it’s Virt. For two, it’s almost 4 minutes long and a hair over 2500 notes. For three, it’s a low FMO. Enjoy it. Glad to see EW back and stepping again!
Snake riddim is a first for 2 people. It’s a first chart for jokim. It’s also a first song for championanwar. A difficulty 7 chart, this one is slightly repetitive, but solid for an easier file (man, did i call a 7 easy? *sigh*) Personally, I like the sound of the song and am looking forward to more electronic hip-hop beats from anwar.
Last of the charts so far is Felys, the original mix… both by Onoken. Chart by Vote4Nixon. It’s harder and layered more than the older remix’d chart. Pick it up in purchased for 2000 credits.

Jackdump or not, it’s awesome. Well, I’m looking forward to trying these files out – but tomorrow. Tonight, I need some quality sleep.

Oh, extra information? Why didn’t I see this? Well, Night and Day is fun, but honestly, I like Fei Longer more. And Fei Longer isn’t even one of my favorite files. Not to say Night and Day isn’t fun – definitely is – but nothing breathtaking at all.

bmv.578 is the most annoying song for me cause I can pa it but I can’t fc it. I have the most trouble with up arrow jacks being left handed. And of course all of those 5 quick jack parts are on the up arrow *fumes in the corner*

I don’t know, I think the layering style fits well with the intensity of the song. Gets more layered as the song goes on and increases in craziness.
If you don’t like the crazy layering at the end you can blame jx.
The chart does seem a little off though, just a gap issue.

Actually no, it really shouldn’t be. The jacks really aren’t that hard. If Piano Etude Demon Fire isn’t FGO, than neither is this. Both have jacks and are equally “layer-crazy” files.
In any event, bmv.578 is fun stuff. Nice one dag12.

Fei Longer is a terrible file. Well, at least annoying.
Forgotten Planet is I dunno…I can’t judge easy files.
bmv is a low FMO, stop sucking at jacks at saying files are harder than they are…
Night and Day is okay, not a fan of that style of music.

the jacks arent really too bad on it, but i think we need a FGO coming out for the 12 days of FFRMas xD
