1) A “favorite songs” section to go to play your favorite songs
If you really like a song, you can click a button saying “favorite” and it’ll add it to that special song section
2) You know those emails that have the recommended songs to raise our rank? How about a section that has those five songs in it and it updates with each new email?

i think the majority of people including myself would like to see the arrows go infront of the combo. Also,, in game keymapping would be sick since school starts soon and i cant get AHK for my school comp XD.

Something I’ve been thinking of for a while would be to show personal rank for each song below the song’s name along with a small symbol that says “FC,” “AAA,” or “Fail” depending on what you’ve done on the song. (I picked random numbers for examples)

I would really like to see a thing on the side showing how many perfects, goods, averages, boo’s and misses I have during the game.
Kind of like the thing on the buttom of multiplayer.
It would really help with getting skill tokens.
And if it may cause lag, then it should be able to turn off and on.

First of all: You guys have done a great job with all the changes lately.
Secondly: I agree with several other people with the combo appearing behind the arrows on the screen, or at least a little lower. Sometimes it gets quite hard to concentrate on the arrows.
It would also be cool to see the ranks of people. If not everyone, just the top 2000 or 3000.

- Add Mirror feature in R1
- Let people customize the speed mods in-game within 1.00~5.00~ range or whatever you feel like giving.
- Take away the shadow effect with sudden.
- Token lvl ranks in public?
- Change where the combo appear with reverse to give them more visual space.
- Fix the cloning bug when a 2nd person appear in a MP room.
- Fix an “malicious exploit”? where people can steal others #9 Token if they are subscribers.
- Get rid of some randoms small bugs on site? By example, #1 Token not getting away after clicking on it.
- Take a look around the mirrors and update/fix them a little?
- Give me a 3 months subscription if i give you 100 other points like that?

====TO EVERYONE ASKING FOR SONGS TO BE PUT INTO FFR====
Unless you get permission to use the songs/artists you are requesting, they will not be put into the game, no matter how hard you beg. No, Dragonforce will not be put into FFR. In fact, the only way that DF is going to make it into FFR is if you can somehow convince them to let you step there songs without having to pay them. Good luck with that.

-I think this was mentioned on the front page a while back but are options for hotkeys within the FFR application here or coming soon?
-Option for reskinning profiles, as in being able to move sections around or applying our own (or preprogrammed) images as borders (tiling), backgrounds , etc. Similar to SheezyArt’s profile system. This is definitely a “shoot the moon” idea as it would require a lot of work. :\
-Add a section to front page that shows the 3 newest threads that have recent posts that the user has contributed to. As opposed to always going to control panel.
-Add a section to front page that shows the most recent AAA’s that users sitewide have gotten for their first time. (“First-time AAA” reduces spamming easy songs just to have their names on the FP).
I’ll probably think of more. I realize that the front page is already tight on space due to ads and other necessary sections, so if these don’t work might they be implemented in an alternative method?

How about Co-Op skill tokens? Those tokens would require two or more players along with certain requirements for both of them to obtain a particular skill token. Oh, and a Co-Op Multiplayer feature would be nice.

how about the ability to compare myself to others, kinda like the highscore boards on runescape so i can see if im better than someone or not.
-BETA level rank release
-for stokens a box that tells you when you have completed or failed the requirement (ex’s. you have gotten 20+ averages completed, you have 10 perfects you did not complete the stoken)
-turn off the backgrounds
-resync of the easy songs, 100 bar blackout *cough cough*
-MP with one set of arrow and a box to say if the other person failed out
-check box in my profile to toggle profile chat on or off (it laggs my comp a bit going between profiles)

well ive always had a teeny problem with the profile avatar quality. i mean, if i have a nice picture (perhaps large) that id want as my avatar picture, if i was to put it up it somehow loses its quality. if i take that same picture and post it in the my pictures section, the quality is beautifully kept and displayed.
now i know its not *too* important, but its just something thats bugged me a bit for a long time. =P im sure there are many more important things that people have mentioned (i havent read yet XD) that might be needing first dibs, but i would still really like the avatar display picture’s quality somehow fixed if possible. oo actually why not make the avatar picture bigger too? such as in the forums its larger and good quality! yea thats it. id want the avatar pics to be the same size and quality as the forums show! well there my penny thoughts ^^

For example, we could go to “Edit profile” and we pick a song from FFR and make the song listenable (Is listenable a word?) in our profile.

Organization in terms of Tokens and on the site, so anywhere a song name is listed place the category next to it. Example, Unlock Cellphone by comboing 250 on blah (dance 2) or something. Also, in the rank.php, organize the songs by groups?
Just divisions perhaps?..So we can quickly find the songs we haven’t played or have bad scores on.
Also, perhaps a revamped vid chat login?..A lot of people seem to be having trouble with that. Also, Xelius mentioned it earlier I believe, but more online community based events? Tournaments perhaps, things like that where there could be prizes, perhaps unique tokens or just things that come up on their profile, ribbons or something?
Aside from those ideas though, the site has come a LONG way from when I first came here, and I can’t say much more than you guys have done a fantastic job with FFR, keep it up.

I’m sure you’ve heard enough about avgmisses.
-Include token/skill token AAAs and FC’s in the profile bar
-Include tier point bar
-DO NOT inform users of BPM for a song, it makes writing auto-keypress programs much easier for cheaters
-Include an internal keymapping option so people who so choose won’t have to download a separate program wherever they go
-You took me off of the ranks for Vertex Beta vROFL, I assume it was because i mapped all 4 arrows into 1 key, made mashing a ton easier. Either make it clear that this is not allowed, or if it is, put me back up as like #6 like I used to be =P

I request a huge overhaul of FFR Resonance/Simfile DB. More moderation is needed (far too many official and stolen stepfiles) and we need more features, like editing our simfile information WITHOUT deleting and reuploading. Perhaps a system similar to bemanistyle’s simfile DB.
The comment deletion thingy is nice, though.

Toggle the Ready! at the start of songs because sometimes it gets in the way when the song starts faster then it says Ready! also some songs such as Domani have colorful or animated (even worse)backgrounds which make it difficult to play so that should be toggled also to just make it plain black background like most songs, ty.

Can you move the combo counter BEHIND the arrows? It was okay before the speed mods, but now that i can see the whole play field, it gets annoying. It’s fine when it’s only three digits, but when the combo reaches over the thousands, it begins to bother me.

Lots of new tokens, both forum and skill (I would be glad to help make new tokens), hard tokens are fun, some new Guru-Only/FMO songs, avmiss fix of course, self-arrows-only in MP (to reduce lag, MP always gives me lagspikes), make it so the Settings menu doesn’t disappear when you enter a genre, maybe add some kind of in-game indicator to let you know your current breakdown like it does in MP (ie. number of Perfects/Goods/etc, this would have been hugely useful for the Zephon token), more to come

Oh yea, I said it before and I’ll say it again. Portable FFR device that will have the ability to update itself via USB or memory stick etc with the latest songs and most important of all so you could hook up with players who also have one and play it out in the streets! Be able to hide the other persons mp arrows. Those always distract me so I play way worse in mp cause of that. Or be able to make it so you can choose which side your arrows are on, I prefer the right side, and play better with them there. It’s weird.

I’ve always wanted to have an option for a never ending, progressively harder song. Like, you click the song, and you play until you fail out. As you keep playing, the steps get harder and harder. Also I’d like a better way to look at all the songs in the genres. I know it might sound nitpicky since it only takes like 3 seconds to view all the pages but its still a hassle when you have to click through 4 pages of songs to get to the one you want to play. So maybe instead of pages of icons, just have like a drop down list or something.

oh god… PLEASE work on resonance, its an excellent idea but come on guys! beef it up a bit! make it more like stepmania allowing stops and bpm changes and that would be an awesome new feature in R1 it would add a whole new challenge level to the game. along with beefing resonance, i’d like to see some multilayer too and with those other non selectable features in there. what happened to those?

1. What would be AWESOME would be if I could upload simfiles from SM into FFR just for personal use. If subscribers could do that I would subscribe in a hurry. If the public could do so that might be cool too but it should probably be left as a subscriber feature until 3rd style to increase incentive. This would also make testing your simfile out a lot easier in determining whether it’s fun in FFR or not.
2. I would really like to have some visual feedback as to how well I’m doing in FFR. Maybe there should be a setting to increase/decrease flash in the arrows in whatever color you like or something. That and/or you could specify where and how large the perfect display should be.
3. Please come up with a better and more sophisticated version of profile votes, the way it is now might be ok for those who haven’t figured it out but profile votes pretty much just indicates how recognized someone is and not how good their profile is.
4. Get rid of avmisses, or at least increase the framerate to 60 fps (preferably 100, 100 runs a lot smoother in stepmania than 60 does). While the jack system is a challenge it would be a lot more fun being able to do faster songs and use jacks here and there without the song being rejected.
5. Tweak the credit system a little. IMO, it’s biased too much towards gameplay and should be more biased towards skill. It might be best to leave it as is but maybe playing harder songs should award more credits per point total than playing easy songs should. The credit limit should be disabled, it’s not fair to play past the point of getting 40 credits and not get credits you should’ve clearly earned.
6. Do something about the forums, it doesn’t help that most newbs disregard most of the stickies. They see the way forum regulars post and leave because they think we’re rude, which isn’t true for most of us, whereas if they all read the stickies then they very wel might think otherwise.
7. Add some SM like features, such as ONI courses, nonstop courses, endless courses, etc…. I realize that this might be a part of 3rd style, but still, this could really enhance the game if the right courses are added. Courses might could even be customizable. Custom music rates from 0.1x to like 10.0x or 20.0x or whatever will work would be pretty sweet too.
8. It would be pretty cool if, after tokens were unlocked, they went to dance or dance2 or wherever they should belong, that way I know I’d play those songs more. It’s just awkward going to token to play a song I could be playing in dance2.
9. If you guys made screencutting to where the arrows beneath the cut weren’t actually there in game that could really reduce lag I’m sure. The more you screencut, the less the arrows show.
10. Make credits worth more than just secret or purchased songs. If one could use credits to buy a subscription or buy stuff from the ffr shop or whatever.
11. When 3rd style comes out or whenever you get rid of the avmiss glitch or increase the frame rate you should consider adding marvelous, ridiculous, insaneous timing (made that up), etc that you could turn on or off…. Also there should be a judge setting (going from what it is now to justice or harder), that’d be pretty awesome.
12. FFR Resonance needs change, it’s not really getting much popularity from what I can tell. If bpm changes became playable I’m sure that alone would cause a popularity boost. Speed mods and other custom mods should also be made accessible on the main page so I don’t have to change the url and use math to use my favorite cmod for every song. The animation of the note splashing in the stationary arrows should be slowed down to resemble stepmania more and make timing easier.
13. Spinitup needs huge updates that I’m sure you’re already aware of, like high scores, etc…. When you line up one edge of the paddle, the other edge isn’t aligned, making timing in SIU unnecessarily hard. There should also be more directions than just 4, harder difficulties might could have 8, 12, even 24 directions….
That’s all I can think of for right now, if I have any more ideas I’ll try to post them later. Call me crazy for being so wordy but I’m bored and wanted to help FFR however I could. Please consider all of my ideas, I think if all of them could be implemented this site would be truly amazing.

i was also thinking our profile’s tell how long we have been members, why not add a thing onto the song description that says how long its been in the game.
possibly an in game way to hot key buttons rather than have the program.
improve the frame rate, 4 framers are annoying, and somehow fix jacks, these i don’t see ever happening though =/
fix the glitch where when people leave, sometimes you wind up losing EXP because it says you played against yourself, or when you join a room when someone’s in the middle of a game, and you lose EXP as if you played against them.
last but not least, some way to fix the stupid lag with windows vista =(

To add to wargod50′s idea, the keyboard would have a superior feel to most keyboard’s on the market. It’d probably feel like a really nice dell keyboard or maybe IBM keyboard as IBM keyboards have superior springs. You could have different versions of the keyboard: The cheapo one which looks just like a regular keyboard but has ffr logo, the normal one which is blue and has more snazzy stuff, and the expensive one, with special hot keys, lots of light and more snazzy features.

I didn’t go over all the comments but I bet someone brought this up but I say FFR R1 needs a total make over. Revamped and “pimped out” haha, Make a movie of the remake of R1 and call it “Pimp My FFR”. But yeah, you guys have thought of a lot of changes and I am quite content with how things look and run, I don’t have much to ask except that R1 gets revamped and made to look cooler with (and I can’t stress this enough) an easier song selection process. Flipping the pages of songs becomes a very tedious process sometimes, especially if the songs on the last page of the genre. You should add a page selection set as the first veiw after you click a genre. With each page button it shows the step difficulty of the songs within that page, that way we can just jump to the page with the songs we want rather than have to flip through all the pages to get there. That’s about all.

I don’t really have a problem with having to flip pages to get to the song, but not being able to just immediately click to get to the next page is a bit of an annoyance. The little novelty of having all the song names flip down row by row is cute but it slows down the process, and will even more so as the number of pages increases in the future.

How bout a way to cancel the loading of a song in MP…sometimes I play and click the wrong one and it loads then I cant cancel it…or the other player clicked the song and I clicked the wrong one and could cancel…then we would both have to leave to reset..and then sometimes people were playing in that room…its not a major problem but would be nice

I would love to see more break beats and stepfiles by kit-. There should now be a dance 3 area because of the massive amount of songs. In multiplayer, there should be an option to load a different song if u accidently double clicked the wrong song. And i think everyone should be able to see the amount of credits u have and the ability to see everyones level rank page. Other than that make me a member for free and keep doing what ur doing.

please, dear god, fix the lil glitches and bugs in multiplayer, like when you get your name in both slots and other lil things like that that i cant think of right now.
re-add the ability to click out of a song youre loading if you accidently clicked the wrong song or changed ur mind.
ALSO, i dont think anyone else has mentioned this, so if no one else has, i claim credit for the idea.
Add a practice mode to ffr like the one in guitar hero, slowing down the entire song so you can read the notes easier and read them. It would be helpful in practicing things that are hard to read or having a hard time hitting.

1. OMG ANOTHER ADDITION OF THE TOP 1000 SHIRT WOULD BE AWESOME! They were such a success, and I’m only 700 rankings away from being able to show off one of them (if there ever reissued) and be proud in what i have not done with my life.
2. Also, a skill 2 and a d2 genre would be great. It would be also really cool if u had some really well known artists songs on here, (e.g. green day, guns and roses, the beatles), though I’m not sure if there is a conflict of copyright interest there (if so I dunno how you guys got things like the power rangers song).
3. Make it so it tells you your rank after an mp game like it would in a singles game, and add that to ur level rank scores, cause its annoying when I do well in MP and it doesn’t count.
4. This might be weird but you should have an amateur genre. Like where if an undiscovered band, or even just freelance guitar player can submit some crazy solo with a stepfile attatched.
5. New hip-hop songs are a neccesity, when’s the last time we got one of those.
6. New arcade songs, neccesity.
7. All the games we played should be combined into the biggest stepfile FFR has ever seen (it would be quite a feat to AAA it).
9. Why wasn’t there an 8, fix my ability to chronologically order numbers.
10. If all of your stats are deleted for no reason in one fell swoop, and there’s no way to fix it, such as what happened to me, you should be reimbursed with 10,000 creds, cause that was a major b****.

All I ask for, is a fix to the jack syndrome (urgent need to fix this somehow…seriously) and probably updating some off sync songs (specifically newer ones which are slightly off sync enough to get you a few too many goods, not just the older ones). If you need an idea (this was probably already suggested) make a “history” genre, as I realize you keep those old, cruddy songs as part of history, and put all those old files in there. Create new v2′s of all of them and add them to the appropriate genres. Also, all songs in the “history” genre shouldn’t count for average rank. This would make average rank actually symbolize some skill…And no, quite frankly I don’t care about the freaks that AAA some of that crap. AAAing those shows a different kind of skill, different from AAAing an perfectly synced song.
Also, I think tokens and skill tokens should count for your total AAA’s…Not necessarily count towards average rank but still, they should be a part of the total AAA’s.
A cool update would maybe be to allow simfiles to display speed changes as well
A lot of things should be fixed, not added to, in my opinion. Adding only produces more potential problems. Fixing and then adding after things have been perfected will improve quality. Perfecting those things that have been added is also something that should be done before adding further, and this can be done in “chunks” of updates. For example, fixing a ton of stuff, perfecting it all, and then adding 1 – 3 new features to the site, and over the course of a month perfecting those features, getting rid of bugs and such.
I don’t propose a lot of new ideas, necessarily, but my information is pretty useful, nonetheless

1.) some more, when in MP, when your in a room by yourself, its missing some text at the end, it says “waiting for player 2, press [cancel] to leave the”
it doesn’t finish, and there is 2 cancel buttons for no reason.
2.) and when your banned it says “you have been banned for much longer than 30 minutes!, next offense results in”
once again, it doesn’t finish what it’s saying, and on this one, there is 2 “ok” buttons
3.) Extend the credit count area, If you have enough credits, such as myself, you cant see every digit, it cuts off.
4.) more characters would be nice, but not needed
5.) in the MP chat, in the far right of where we type, there is a invisible send button we can click to send our entered text, there is no label on it.

7.) on our level rank’s page, we have *’s next to our scores that were FC’s, but no where on the page it says what the * means, some beginners have no clue what it means.
8.) Delete account that have been inactive for i guess about half a year to a year, most the account will never be used again, and are most likely just accounts made to submit profile votes, or people that dont plan on coming back, or a old account, but the person still plays on a newer account.

I can’t believe I haven’t really seen this mentioned. MORE CONVENTIONS!! You should do a tour of conventions everywhere, and charge like 10 dollars to get into each one. Then use that money for more advertisements on major websites (myspace, zango, facebook, youtube, etc.) Also, you should make the subscriber fee 1.00 more for a total of 4 dollars per month. All this extra money would lead to a lot more website hits, hence more members, hence more advertisers intrested in your site, hence even more money, hence more awesome expensive nerd devices to make ffr awesome.

It would be a cool feature to link videos from not only Youtube but Google Video also (perhaps some other sites that you can upload videos too?). I know majority can upload their videos to Youtube, but what about the minority that can’t? I belong in that minority and I would like to submit videos to the Video DB. I don’t know, but from what I know about websites and URLs, I believe that it would’nt take too much coding since Youtube URLs and Google Video URLs are pretty much the same.

I’m not sure if this is under your control Synth, but I personally would like to see some classic rock tunes under Rock section. For example some of The Who, Led Zeppelin, The Eagles, etc. etc.
Also I think it would be helpful if there was a way to get the max combo ticker thing to go off/on, because there are times when the number gets in the way of the arrows, and I think that it would make for better gameplay.
And lastly Synth could we have some more Difficult-Very Challenging Skill Tokens? I find myself getting bored with the current tokens, whether they’re out of my skill’s reach or not =/.

Make any Resonance file embeddable. That way we can makea file and show it off to everyone on our myspace or something like that.
A once-and-for-all tournament to decide who’s best right now. (Though I know I’m nowhere near that title).
Adding a feature to the profile that tells what kind of player they are (3-finger, indexer, four-finger spread, one-hander, ect.)

Having check boxes for what comments you’d like to delete on your profile, instead of having to go through all of them one at a time.
Not having the generic “First person to post on your wall” comment, by Synthlight. Or at least being able to delete that.
Having an ignore function in the profile/mp chats, as to avoid people that are rp’ing and/or just spamming the chat area and giving everyone a hard time.
Having a jukebox type function that comes up in a new window and allows you to listen to songs downloaded to ffr, all in one place. The Progress Report feature can also provide suggestions for songs to full-combo or AAA as well. It would make things easier for users to keep track of which songs they need to full-combo or AAA, instead of going through an extraordinarily long list.

Ok, didn’t wanna read all of these, but in the skill guide email I’d like to see maybe five songs that I have not played in a long time. But the songs should be ones I can improve on, aka not songs that I have AAAed.

THE GAME:
Umm… for some reason I can never send challenges (they don’t go through to the other person), and the extra message at the end never seems to work…
Make me really want to play ffr. Make rewards for improving. And stop adding so many new tokens and songs at one time! It’s a bit overwhelming, It’s actually the reason why I stopped playing it frequently.
Oh! What would be really really cool: have a little preview of the song when you highlight it, like on the DDR machines. That would be cool, then I don’t have to wait for it to load to hear what the song sounds like.
A faster loading time would be nice, but my computer kinda sucks anyway so that might be my fault.
And the arrows don’t work on the FFR shop.
THE PROFILES:
An answer to this question: why are there profile votes? it doesnt take much for someone to slap together a proflie using random color combos and still get thumbs-up votes. Profile votes doesn’t really seem to carry much weight.

i want a easy to get skill token….but make the song a harder song….its hard for me to get exactly 20 goods and 200 perfects…and 3 averages in one song….but when i get the easy skill tokens…im stuck with a hard song…so please…make a easy to get skill token but make the song that we get hard

add the token songs so that it shows that you’ve AAA’d one of those songs on the new stats bar and add token song stats to the level stats

Um, it would be nicer if the song select in the game is fixed. I think the text is too small, and that it is hard to locate songs I am specifically looking for. Not that there’s anything wrong with the genre organization, its just the song select. Perhaps instead of squares, maybe more like rectangles, so song titles don’t spill over to the next line?

Oh, and another big thing. Fix the old songs, and some new even, where the notes are off beat. Like some of those supposed easy songs that have those really quick notes in quick succesion of the same note. Because their differently spaced makes them hard, so being hard kinda defeats the purpose of them being an easy song.

Hello, here are some suggestions from, in my opinion, most important to least important.
1. Fix the average-miss-boo “framers”.
2. Add an instant-replay feature that allows you to save a replay of how you played during the song and have the ability to show someone else your replay.
3. Maybe have a small counter in the corner to tell you how many perfects, goods, averages, misses, and boos you have while you play?
4. Anything else that you might think of! Thanks!

completely remake multiplayer so it will be so Awesome you would actually want to play it
room based on song difficulty and random songs come up from that difficulty option to turn on/off the other guys window while playing different scoring for single player and multi player multi based on PA will not have to be worried about a single miss from a glitch in multi that makes you lose and gets you pissed
on/off option on many new features like draggable combo display that you can chose where to put it and what size arrow counter in game to know your perfect goods and so.. and more features that let the user to deicide what will his display of the game will look like
transform the game to a software like stepmania that uses your GPU but keep the online connectivity?

There are two things I would like to see…
A way to review the last 10 or 20 seconds of a song if you failed it.
And skill tokens for the moderate difficulty users. Regular skill tokens are too hard and “New User Skill Tokens” are to easy.

Update FFR R2. I have only been here a few months and have seen many changes to R1, but nothing no updates/changes to R2.
Add freeze arrows to R1. I love freeze arrows.
Oh and I would love for you guys to get Within Temptation songs on here. I don’t know if the band would be interested, but you could check them out on myspace and see if they might be a possibility.

also sometimes i start loading a song on single player and forget to set my speed, or other times just double click the wrong song.
Many times on multiplayer when someone chooses a song like… “The games we played part 5″ i accidentally choose “The games we played part 2″ then we’re stuck. gotta reload the webpage, kind of a pain
And how about have it save the last speed you used? you have no idea how many times i come on ffr and play a song and realize im not set on 1.25x speed! It saves your directional settings (Idk what to call it really..) And well any other setting that gets lost when you leave.. i hate resetting stuff
The skill tokens page could say what genre the objective song (The song you have to play to unlock the skill token) is in to save people from going to look for it
A way to see your highscore on a song without loading the song
Secret songs are unlocked by having a lot of credits(right?) Would it be possible to say how many more credits are needed for the next secret song?

After you finish a song and you select to play another song have the little ring that rotates genre stay on the last genre you played instead of having to rotate back around to it.

Favourites playlist on FFR. Like a different genre but you choose what goes in there. Then the favourites get highlighted where they actually belong in the genres, so things are easy to find.

you know in DDR, that thing called a groove meter or something?? that shows the stream, voltage, air, freeze, and chaos? i was thinking for those to be in FFR!…it would be even cooler if it showed our stats in it! i dont know how that would work. and like i said before, Corny! just a thought.

The main problem being that if 2 people picked a song and they both loaded or yours loads and someone leaves then your pretty much screwed and have to refresh. Also it could do with a graphic update looks so plain now =D and maybe a magic little square that can tell you your opponents mp level? oo oo and seperate mp rooms! like begginers and novices n stuff! and you could have a widgit that tells you what room you should be in based on yuor stats! =D maybe if you set the mp to let people pick songs in turn and once someone picked then both load at the same time? and also maybe a go button? =D the amount of times ive waited for it to load, forgot about it and then watched all the arrows fly by is insain! ooo the possibilities

a dlable version. Thats something I wanted last week when I had no internet. SM has issues with spacing of the arrows and general speed sometimes too. Anyways Make it so you can update it and get the songs you’ve unlocked but this way it would be easier to add fore mentioned practice mode.
1) Favorites genre. Songs that we play often and score well on.
2)Redo MP, it has so many glitches its not even funny. I haven’t been there in a long time because its near unplayable unless you follow a specific order.
3)More merc
4)screw updating profiles… this isn’t myspace, this isn’t facebook. Its FFR people come on.
5)make the combo thing smaller and in a corner rather than the size of 2 1/16th note arrow rows.
6)Practice area. IDC what it takes we need one lol. Like where you can pick sections of a song to practice. I know things like that would pick up a lot of people because when I show this game they pick it up pretty quick but hit multiple doubles (or for some the 1/8th note roll) and the fudge up and don’t want to spend a min to be able to try that section again. This is my biggest please do
7)Something else we can do with credits, or more songs for purchase. Cause so far its just, horde a ridiculous amount to unlock a song. (I like the last 20 sec idea as well
9) Something needs to be done about the streaming info. The site has been hiccuping recently, just slight hiccups that no one really would notice unless of course they are working there ass off to get a AAA (don’t laugh at me… not like I spent over an hour trying to AAA spontaneous hydroxide… and still haven’t)

I think it would be nice to have the ability to mute the music on the menu screen in game, because its nice to be able to listen to your own music without having to close FFR or wait for the loop count to reach 0

I would love it if you guys made the background on a lot of, in not all the songs capable of being switched on and off. It’s extremely distracting, esp. if the arrows are the same color as the background. It makes them harder to see and sometimes I miss them and get really pissed. That would be lovely. =)

Every once in a while, when I play an ffr song, the stats for the rank u had and what rank u got in the song being played doesn’t show. I’d stay for a good minute waiting for it and it either stays @ zero or doesn’t show anything for both stats. umm…can u fix that?

*It’d be nifty if, where it showed your overall rank and score in game, above and below it had the names/ranks/grandtotals of the 2 players above and below you.
*Fullscreen would be nifty.
*Combo behind the arrows is almost a must.
*The suggestion of no opponents arrows in MP is a pretty nice one, but an option to turn it back on would be cool, as some people don’t have a problem with it.
*When it sends the score for a song, if it doesn’t record, have it resend the score until it does, even if the player has left the score screen. (If this is possible of course.)
*Automatically ban anyone who posts what post they are if they have nothing else to say, and it doesn’t contribute to the subject. (No, really..)
*A guide to tell user’s what speedmod is equal to what CMod, and how much they have to screencut to fine tune it? If you release the screen cutting into FFR, you can have a user enter a CMOD and it can select the closest speedmod and screen cut for them.

In MP give us the option of not being able to see the other persons arrows so it can help prevent lag.
In R1 let us be able to have a favorite song folder that we can place songs in for quick playing.

Maybe there should be FFR minigames, which involve both finger-tapping and clicking skills. They’d be more basic than spinitup maybe but more like what you find on addictinggames.com or ugoplayer.com. They’d just have more of an ffr theme to them. They might involve speed and precision in clicking skils found in some target shooting games (Rapid Fire 2, which can be found here:
http://www.2dplay.com/rapid-fire-2/rapid-fire-2-play.htm , is my favorite) but only you have to follow and click the different sized arrows or something. At the same time you have to tap to the rhythm. Something like that, just a thought. Incorporating FFR minigames would really appeal to those who like sites like addictinggames I think.

Ok the ability to use speed mods in Multiplayer, no idea how it could be done as watching my arrows and someone elses at different speeds would be damned confusing. but hey. maybe i watch both in my speed selection and they watch both in their speed selection. since the public release of speed mods i have become attuned to 1.50 and can no longer do some of the more simpler songs in normal speed, which has ruined my ability to play multiplayer…

1) Make the Combo Display toggle-able or flash BEHIND the arrows or move it to the side.
2) More difficulty 1 and 2 songs so I can have more than 1 AAA.
3) Put Skill Tokens on the display for regular AAA and FC.
4) Put back in the bug that let me score the following scores just by smacking the **** out of all 4 of my arrow keys at the same time:

665 11 Silence 1,628,445
5) Do not take away my high scores for previously listed games as I wore out 2 keyboards at work earning them. I then switched out broken keyboards with other users at work who I didn’t like. Compaq makes some really cheap @$$ keyboards.
6) Make IJKM map to the arrow keys so I can break more keyboards at work. WASZ would also work for me.
7) Finally, someone explain to me how the heck you get past that stupid Yoshi Bonus Round!!??
9) Make people quit laughing at me when I tell them I didn’t know what AAA or FC was until last month.

How about a toggling background? The pictures can be distracting sometimes.
The ability to slow down songs. It will allow people to practice on a song and slowly work their way up to full speed. Obviously, it would make steps easier to AAA, so official scoring should be disabled when you slow it down.

the new skill tokens are nice, they really are! BUT since eien makyu, they have not been SKILL tokens. Now, im glad i can get every one of them. but theyre TOO easy. at least make it something that wont be automatically doable first try. the last 2 skill tokens out i just remembered the songs i had to play, full combod em and there were my new “skill” tokens. time to step up the difficulty… just a tad.

Okay, heres one:
When you are finished playing a song, and the results page is up, instead of just having a button for retrying, and returning to the main page, also have a button that takes you back to the genre of songs you were just in.
That way, if you are want to play several similar songs, you dont have to go out to the main dance page, and then find your category again.

Is it possible to have the genres in a simple list? Basically, instead of having to flip through each one to get to the one you want, just click it from a list?
I know it’s simple, but it’s logical.

if possible put our highest rank you know we have our regular ranks: 2000 out of 1000000 players on ffr but i was thinkin you can put our highest rank so we we can beat our personal best since sometimes we can not play for months, which makes our ranks go down

i think the genres should be changed to the difficulty levels…ex:for beginners only,easiest, etc.
and also make some more GOOD for gurus and masters only songs…im sick of the ultra easy songs that keep coming out

I hope this comment is taken very seriously…….
I hope FFR is never an SM clone or too close to being one that people just play SM instead. Yes, it should have a lot of SM features but I want it to always have it’s own unique feel to it that keeps me going here as much or more than SM. Stepmania is a very fun game and FFR is pretty fun too and adding some certain SM features will greatly improve the game I’m sure but it should have it’s own unique feel to it too. What I’m thinking should happen in keeping the FFR feel is making the fps of 3rd style plateau at 60 fps and still only having FFR simfiles being allowed for mp and high scores. 100 fps and sm files for personal use to subscribers only could be used for personal use maybe. Just a thought.

Make more people like ffr, and less people think its a geeks game…. Cause I am likely the best in my school (ffr and ddr). At semester exams, final exams, and after concerts, in orchestra class we get to have a free day(s). If people bring, there is some ddr on set up. I mean it is fun to show off but, as you all must have experienced it is also a little “different” to some people. With ffr though, I would be the best (I have never showed though). Ffr/ddr just is not the most “normal” thing kids/teens/adults play. But if it was more recongnised like Metalica or Greenday (I h8 both lol) it would be soo much cooler. Even my parents think I’m “different”. Lol.
To sum it up, make ffr known to all (somehow??)!

More skill tokens but at a standard level to get them, not hard songs.
Able to make songs on our profile auto play.
get songs for a certain amount of profile votes
make some tokens easier to find then others(meaning add more tokens)
make it so your profile chat room can have its own background
make it so your profile can have a pic as its background (like in xanga or myspace)
make it so we can submit some songs from now, add our own arrows to them, and then share them with friends
be original and try your best

Make it so in multi-player, you only see your screen, and not you and your opponent’s at the same time. I find that that’s what causes a lot of laggg and it’d be helpful to get rid of that. X3

This drives me crazy:
I really wish there was a way to make searching through play lists on FFR similar to StepMania. Meaning, instead of the default (once you choose “new song” it takes you back to the Dance menu item), make it so you stay right at the genre you just played. I often find myself wanting to go through an entire genre to boost scores and get SO tired of having to flip through all of the lists multiple times.
Along the same lines, if you could do it for just the genres, could you do it for the pages too? For instance, if I’m on the bazillionth page of Dance2 when I want to start a new song could there be an option to stay on the bazillionth page of Dance2?
It’s just something I thought would be handy seeing as the play lists just continue to evolve to enormous lengths.

You guys should make the max amount of credits earned on a song exceed 40. I do BB Evolution and don’t even get close to fc’ing the song and still get 40 credits…. i think the most amount of credits you should be able to get should be around 50 or so…

I would like a more efficient interface. Perhaps all the genres can be listed on the side, all acessable as soon as you load the site/click “play another song”

Ummm…Sort of like an FFR Store, where we can buy stuff to customize our profiles with our credits…
I see that a lot of people want to have like music or better skins on their profiles…Don’t just give it to them, make them work for it…
Oo, and also make like this little number on any corner of the screen, while you’re playing a song, that shows how many other people are playing that song at the same time…
Make the widgets completely customizable, like let us pick the backround, have settings for the songs, show the difficulty, and make it to where we can pick the songs we want on the widget, this would be a good way to make that possible, after having played on a song on FFR, have like this little bar where we can copy the code for that song and be able to paste it somewhere in the widget, click eneter and voila! You can now play that song on your widget…Or whatever works…
Make every single thing you see while playing a song off/on able…
ex, combo, prfcts/gds/avrgs/misses/boo, your score, that little bar at the top that shows how close you are to failing the song…
Give everyone a title, depending on their rank, ex. Rookie, Noob, Pro, etc.
Customizable characters…
Make FFR look more high-techish…
Make every single thing in FFR customizable and off/on able…
Have the option to delete your profile for losers that no longer want to play FFR…
Make a widget for your FFR profile, so you can play and be on the public chat at the same time…
Bring back the profile pets, but this time make them better, more customizable, and make them not lagg your page…
A profile search, where you can search for people through their first/last names, or their location…
Make MP for like 3,4, or 5 people ect.
An announcer that says, “You’ve hit a combo of 100″, “You have hot a combo of 200″, etc.
No limit to the credits you can get on a song…
Full screen option…
A timer saying how long you’ve playing a song and how much time is left in that song…
Make it to where you only see your arrows in MP
Feature where you can compare yourself to ther…
And last but not least…Not banning me for writing so many things down…

Let’s see what I don’t like around here…
1. Get rid of all tokens/skill tokens. Not likely to happen, but I’d still like it.
2. Get rid of the gbin. Probably the same deal here.
3. Fix jack syndrome.
4. Add tons and tons of insanely hard songs that are available to everyone.
5. Increase the frames per second, and then add more speed mods.
6. Make it so backgrounds can be turned off.
7. In-game key mapping.
8. Once enough songs are added, add a second wheel for difficulty, so it’d be much easier to find what you wanted, rather than having to go to the 8th page or so.
9. Add something else to do with credits, such as buying stuff to dress up in-game characters, or for profile pets, or maybe even for stuff from the FFR store. (but some way of making sure they’re legit credits)
10. Make it so you don’t see the other person’s arrows in MP. They’re really your arrows anyway, plus someone tried to say I was cheating since he claimed to see me miss a note and I kept my combo, plus they lag the game.
11. Some way of reducing lag in MP. Something along the lines of more MP mods, ability to kick people from your room, disabled chat while you’re actually playing, or something along those lines.
12. A way of changing your song in MP to whatever the other person selected, like maybe just by clicking on where it says the name of the song they have selected. Would need some message for if you try to click a secret song they have that you don’t, which should show up to both players, so they’d both know you didn’t have it.
13. Making it so you can see the full name of a song someone has selected in MP, since you currently can’t tell certain songs apart, like EHHS and its v2. Maybe make it so its name can go onto a second line.
I think that’s about it. Actually I might start playing again if enough of these things happen.

um…. from what i’ve seen, arrow skins would be sweet, better well-known songs (i’m slightly getting bored playing the same songs in rock every single day xD, um. what else… a bird for my cat pancake would be sweet, because she keeps waking me up wanting a birdy to play with.. jkjk, fix MP up heavily, and um… that seems about it. i play FFR about 2-3 hours a day, and richard wants moar from his experience. ‘sides, i’ve got a 500 buck bet that says i can’t hit rank 1 by the end of the year. >.

Different genres could be different regions of the game with their own maps. So when you reached a point where your skill isn’t enough on lets say dance, you could move over to quests in the arcade region.

Here’s a thought I had earlier…
Score recording options. Like… you could set it so where scores wouldn’t record for “practice mode” or something like that… Or you could set it to where it only records passing scores…. You could use that when you use auto-fail… so if you’re trying to AAA or FC something, if you auto-fail out, your small score won’t be recorded, and you can just click to play the song again…
I thought of that when I was trying to make my rank on Nova Pulser better… haha… I didn’t like having to refresh the page and go back to play the song again after getting a miss…
Hahah… And I didn’t want to use Auto-fail ’cause I didn’t want a lot of tiny scores…

in arcade, it is a far too simple arrangement of songs. you have only songs from maybe a couple dozen games. bring in more songs, there are thousands of games out there yet, you only have 22 arcade songs. 2 final fantasy, 2 sonic, and more. i see nothing from pokemon. can we have a little more variety?

I want FFR to have an easier and quicker user interface. Like, when I finish a song, I don’t want it to go back to the Dance category, I want it to go back to the category of my last played song. I’d also like to see many of the quirks and bugs fixed that the client has.

Have friend requests so people can’t just randomly add you to buddies, you actually know who is adding you this way. Plus you can refuse if you wish.

Ugh for all of you sayin make FFR more like Myspace, please stop it, FFR is unique, just go to Myspace.
And Synth, my idea is about the “All Game Statistics” link on the left side. You should make it so that it is liek it is now, where you click it and go to another page, but also add on that when you move your mouse over the link, a drop down menu appears wth all the statistics links. Like, Top 1000, Level Ranks, Tier Points, etc.. so people can get to the stats they want to look at without having to go to another page first, just to make it more convienent.

I would like when you are done playing a game and click to choose another song, it put you back on the same page you came from instead of making you choose the genre, etc all over again. it’s super easy to back out of a genre but, takes more time to sort through pages to get back to songs of my difficulty.
After reading some of the others:
instant replay ability, favorite songs list for easy access, full screen, combo behind arrows, the ability to remove backgrounds, remember speed setting, progress back for song length

I bet that a lot of good suggestions have already been made. Off the top of my head, I’d like speed mods to be remembered, and I think that’s been mentioned before. The main thing that bugs me though is songs that seem to be stepped to the wrong beat or tempo. I swear there are songs with blue arrows on quarter notes and red arrows on eighth notes (wrong beat), songs where red arrows are on both quarter and eighth notes (too fast), and maybe songs where the red arrows only come on every other quarter note (too slow). And this isn’t just on old stuff; some newly added songs seem to have this problem. Granted no one’s perfect, but I’ve been playing music for nearly 30 years now, and I doubt I’m mistaken on this. These deviations from normal often cause some difficulty for me, so I’ve started making note of the songs that seem off to me when I play them. I think the step files with these problems should be fixed if possible, and future step files should be checked for proper beat and tempo synchronization so that the problems don’t continue to happen. (I can provide info on the songs I noted as off, but my list is far from a comprehensive check of all songs I can play, so I’m probably missing a bunch.)

FFR Vitamin water, meant specifically for strenthening the wrists and fingers lol, nah I’m kidding. Previous ideas I thought were very helpful is as follows:
- Able to watch other players on mp without playing the song yourself (watching just the scores go by is boring.)
- Background enable/disable
- Adventure mode (but try not to make tokens and such manditory by playing through certain parts of Adventure mode, because not everyone would prefer to play up to a certain part to unlock something)
- More MP mods on preferably during morning hours
- Hide opponent’s MP arrows, but keep their combo shown in the bottom right hand corner of the screen or something, since combo is everything in this game
- MP quick select (when an opponent picks a song, just click on it in their loading/score box to load it up yourself)
- Make the MP chatroom more like the profile chat, but not to the point of lagging any MP players
- Max score capping so hackers and other such cheaters cant take over a highscore list
- No song challenges on songs un-obtained by the player
Dunno which of those have or havent been said already, and I would also like a quicker scroll rate between the song selection screens since I hate clicking the down arrow, waiting a second for the songs to pop up, clicking down again, waiting again, clicking down again, etc.

A suggestion I have is, in multiplayer on FFR, at the end of the song make it clearer who is the winner and looser. Sometimes Scores go by too fast and can’t tell. Having a “Winner” and “Loosee” flash, would be good.

In the song dta pages show personal data on song (best highscore/rank, whether AAA’ed or fc’ed), including stats of highest score. Also display amount of people who have FC’ed a song.

Right, I tried to read it all, but got tired at about 10%, so sorry if I repeat things that are mentioned earlier. First of all, cheers to synthlight and the other FFR gurus for creating and maintaining this incredible game and community. Here are my suggestions for improving it:
1. Increase song diversity: update funk, get a jazz/blues section, a country section etc.
2.. Resync/restep off-sync or badly stepped files like many of the early dance songs or terribly off-sync songs like Rondo alla Turca v1. While doing that, change the uniformity of colour plz…all blue arrows makes me wanna kill myself ;P. Also, get those jumps and distances between arrows right in oldskool stepped songs.
3. Get more intermediate skill tokens: there must be something between FCing Dazzling Soul and completing some beginner song without missing half the arrows right? Noob skill tokens are for the few 60yo retarded people who wanna have tokens, not for regular noobs like me;P
4. Fix challenge bug where all challenges are submitted 31 Dec 1969 lol.
5. Integrate signature editing to profile…now I gotta go to forums==>CP panel=>edit sig to do so, would make more sense if it was on profile settings.
6. More options in signature editor, like number of FCs, average rank, tier points etc.
7. Do something about the facial expression of the characters. Now its based on credits, which makes no sense since even AAAd short songs mean a disgruntled char lol. Link the mood to % of high score or something.

Make more stats pages. Stats like;
-points per second in each song
-How many days since you’ve got a higher score on a song
-How many times you’ve played each song
-How many ranks you have fallen behind since playing the song last.

Turn Songs of the week into skill tokens of the week. Two tokens a week. It would work like this. One in the Easiest – Difficult and the other in Very Difficult+. As in the playing ability needed to unlock.

I want to be able to download the songs that I can play on FFR. There’s a lot of great music on here that I’d love to stick in my ears on the long bus ride home from school, or whatnot. :3
I know that somewhere on the site, you used to be able to get /some/ (as in, very few) of the songs, but that seems to have dissapeared.
