One Point Five MILLION!!!!!!!

Posted in FFR News on May 17th, 2008

I wanted to have some Synthlight-esque post for you guys for us hitting 1.5 million members, but clearly I wouldn’t be able to do it properly.  Instead, lets reflect back on some past milestones and look forward to 1.5 million more members as we continue to plow ahead with around 1000-1500 new users each and every day.

Feb 10th, 2005: 500,000 Members (And one amazingly awesome plaque!)
Oct 10th, 2006: 1,000,000 Members

And now, on May 17th, 2008, we want to congratulate xxcheerxbabyxx as our 1.5 millionth member.  I want to personally thank each and every one of you guys and gals for making the past 5 years the best years of my life, and I can’t wait to keep making new stories like this one down the road.

Oh yea…   I’ll come up with some kind of contest to run for later this evening.  So stay tuned.  OMFG CONTEST.

  19. woooohoooooo. omg 1.5 mil XD

  20. Shouldn’t it be 1.5 millionS? XD

  21. =O

    Look at my subby thread.

I mentioned about this 1.5mil thing.

  22. Whoa.. People are downvoting each other. Awesome!

  23. LOL I just noticed that.
    Downvotes GALOREE.

  24. 1.5 million users on my birthday!!!
    how amazing <3

  25. kool :D

  26. She’s probably saying who the F*** are all these people? And happy B day Adamaja.

  27. We should have a list to see who down voted who.

  28. WOO

  29. Wow, I remember back when this site had barely over a million members.

  30. is there a real user number? can i see mine?
    who is 1 mil

  31. Wheeee I remember how momentous the millionth was.
Also ): WoohooO forum upgrades! Synth

  32. Two years ago Synthlight was all THIRD STYLE THIS! THIRD STYLE THAT! I CAN’T WAIT TO RELEASE IT! And now he’s pretty quiet, what’s he got brewing? :P

  33. I remember back in “my day” when there were barely over 100,000 users on the site, 15x more users later and here we are. Still the same old wonderful FFR. Minus polls and downloadables.

  34. Yay.

  35. nice

  36. We need some kind of way to stop people from mass downvoting the comments, It’s getting annoying.

  37. agreed

  38. Chunky: well you can thank malDON for coming up with the lame idea of voting in the first place. It’s stupid and unnecessary.

How about we take voting away? That’d solve the problem entirely. There are many alternative solutions other than voting.

  39. good idea irishknight

  40. I agree with Irish. Tyvm, Maldon. >:[

  41. What an incredibly large community!

  42. Has anyone ever given the thought that a lot of these new users could be people making new accounts? Many, many… MANY accounts?

Multiple people making Multiple accounts everyday? I feel it is that way, because, to me, the FFR community only gets about 2-16 new people everyday that appear in FFR Profile chat (that are actually there). Like, some of those new people I see in the most recent users, I never see them anywhere.

Like, where do they go?? Nowhere?

  43. I meant every week, not everyday***

  44. You can only vote once on any given comment. If 6+ people down vote you then 6+ people don’t like you. Maybe try writing something more creative.

  45. yay! contest!!

  46. Maldon, I don’t like you :D

  47. Lol is there some raid going on?

  48. What will Synth do when we get 2mil? We can only wait and see.

  49. Grats on 1.5M FFR!!

    FFRFTWOMG

  50. NINE-THOUSAAAAAND!!11

  51. Lol wrong post. :S

  52. I guess 10

  53. Yeah, but malDON there are 1.5 million users. I’m sure a few of them will just go through and downvote every comment. Just like on YouTube.

  54. Without even reading the post, that is.

  55. 1025

  56. that doesnt matter at all! ther are more than 500,000 ppl who dont even use this site anymore… and you just keep them for the member growth!

  57. 1500000

  58. Guys, mass comment voting happens on all sites with any form of voting. It’s mob mentality. Human Nature.

  59. 500

  60. 63,562

  61. 1337

  62. 43,987

  63. yay!
1.5 million!!!!! i’m happy nao! we nao have 1.5 million nerds!
that means that (on average) out of every 1 out of ever 200 ppl in america is on FFR!!!!! that’s good!

  64. Dang, I was at the movies while this was happening
I may have won it lol.
I Watched Narnia Prince Castian… its new :o

  65. 34,926

  66. 746

  67. 77,293

  68. lol woops wrong news post

  69. I bet half of the members are alt accounts…mostly of gurus who think it’s funny to screw up ranks for less gifted arrow-lovers. Anyway, even taking that into account, the ffr community seems to grow steadily. Nice!

  70. lol, have you seen my post, Callipygian?

  71. I still don’t see why comment voting is necessary.

Seriously if the problem is: “1st” or simply “lol” or “cool”, then there should obviously be a character minimum and maximum.

I could care less about quality, malDON, and I’m sure everyone else agrees too. This form of communication is meant to be informal, imo.

  72. I suggested that last month.
It’d be a lot more helpful.

  73. notice how all the comments have really bad ratings?

  74. I like the site for the game. Downvote away if you must! Going to play now! (That’s why I’m here.) Peace.

  75. I am guessing 77,618

  76. How many of these users have 1000+ games?

  77. hmmm I’m guessing 13,021
