FFR Artist Wishlist – Take 2
A few months ago I asked everyone which artists they would like to see on FFR. The Response was overwhelming and we had all kinds of suggestions. We have since then accomplished working with some of those requested artist. No artist was toooo large or small and I think was able to surprise quite a few of you with who we came up with.
Now I am renewing my request. I just want all of you to respond with every artist you would still like to see on FFR. You can request 1 artist or 50 of them. I want to hear about them all and I want to hear your thoughts about them. Tell me why you would like to see them on FFR or why their music would make an interesting match to promote.

Agent 51 is a 90′s punk rock band, would be neat if we were able to attempt to even contact them concerning their hiatus from the music world for all these years…
Chiodos, recently went to their concert 2 nights ago, they are incredible screamo/emo/metal band whatever.
Emery has some GREAT dancing songs which is what they call it, very upbeat rock like party songs that would work well.
Justice insane..might or might not know of these 2 guys who make up Justice but there’s a Telus commercial which plays their song called Phantom Pt.II

Breathe Carolina – not to be confused with breath electric but they are pretty sweet too. seriously
you should deff consider the two breathe bands they all are on myspace if you want to hear them.

The Mars Volta makes amazing music and cuts of their songs would make great stepfiles. Somehow I doubt they would give permission because they’re ‘artists’ but feh, you gotta try.
Brad Mehldau is an amazing pianist and his trio makes amazing music and FFR needs jazz.
Saul Williams is a poet that also makes music which is amazing (his music is, not the fact that he makes music)
Against Me! is awesome, don’t need to say more.
AMS makes awesome music and there’s none like it on FFR.
Basement Jaxx is my favorite techno and would make great steps.

DJ Irene is an awesome techno artist. She has a good base sound (not bass, base as in distinct) and many of her songs are short enough for a stepchart to actually be plausible. Most of her stuff doesn’t include vulgar langauge and she is a well known artist. She also makes sounds where both beginner songs as well as master songs can be stepped from.

Hit the Lights, I guess.
They’re awesome, and it’s not like everyday you see an awesome rock band out there.
And there’s also bands like Madina Lake, 30STM, etc. etc.
I would pick them because we need some kind of varity; not just easy rock or all the epic trance and everything.
All as a FFR community we have to stretch out arms out to all types of music.

cascada any one of her sogns. because it would make a really go beat song and you could make any of the heavy or light… easy to for gurus only. 2. i wi;; agree with ebgames dragon force will make a godly song for ffr. 3 akon… he makes amazing beats that alot of people enjoy… 4. not very much people i know like soilwork.. i suiggested themm because it would be fun to see some harder songs out in rock.. don’t get me wrong a couple are pretty hard. 5 crazy frog… not very many people like that spotted frog… he just makes some good tunes. 6 weird al. god… he would make anything funny. you get him to make a song on ffr… he prolly be saying ffr, one great site for all the ppr… i dunno… that just came off the top of my head. 7 linkin park an mike shinoda good bands and make amazing beats… iu said that alot.. linkin park is a well know band and as you know they came out with a new cd called “minutes To Midnight”. it has some amazing songs and much much more.8 ill nino… would just make some good stepfiles. 9 white zombie… i dunno why… just one song from the convent soundtrack… more human that human remix… man its to die for. and finally number 10 ankla you ha them on the widget and alot of people played them… so you know their songs will become a hit on flashflashrevoluion. well thats all… for now muhahhahaa:P joke

We need more of hardcore rock for the FMO songs. Not just legendary or progressive and emo. the cosest id say we have is that one song in rock…an epidemic of unexpected relapses. i actually like playing the song. more of this type would be a great addition to ffr, all but not limited to:
-avenged sevenfold(sounding the seventh trumpet and waking the fallen, none of that new whiney bs)
-poison the well
-the red chord
-glass casket
and also some really tight songs (eg adult’s sketchbook) which include all but not limited to:
-imogenus heap

GREEN DAY – We need that style of music IMO.
DRAGON FORCE – It would be good if someone could step FMO and Very Difficult to challenging difficulties for players who aren’t as adept as others.
Gotta have some SOAD! God damn I love their style of music. It would be a nice change in pace for the rock genre of FFR.
Maybe some NOFX, I used to love them.
It would be wack if we could get some AC/DC or fucking Metallica man that woud fucking rock.

I’d like to see some Linkin Park or some Breaking Benjamin. Linkin Park has a very unique style that would would a sweet experience on FFR and Breaking Benjamin has a lot of songs that have bridges that have a nice contrast between the rest of the song.

I think Daft Punk or Justice would be great additions to FFR’s collection of artists. They are the two bands that have raised the bar in house and electronic music.

Green Day, Incubus, Linkin Park are three awesome rock groups. We could finally have a Rock song that doesn’t suck if we got them to jump on FFR. They’re really mainstream though, especially Linkin Park and Green Day, so good luck.
Dragonforce, because they’re awesome.
Video game composers Nobuo Uematsu and Yasunori Mitsuda would be ideal for the Arcade section. Nobuo is famous for the Final Fantasy series, and Yasunori is most famous for the Chrono series, but both have done other, *simply amazing* works of music. Square Enix, however, will probably also have to give permission for the video game music they’ve done. Also, Project Majestic Mix (a large amount of composers that compile albums of video game remixes) have some great songs, especially on their SquareSoft tribute album, which would also be a great addition to Arcade.
As for Classical, I’m not a huge fan, and most works I like and know are over half an hour long. (Please, for the love of God, no half hour stepfiles.) The piece “Carmina Burana” by Carl Orff would be really cool as a stepfile, but we’d have to cut out individual movements. Carmina’s on a lot of commercials and movies as background music. It’s some good stuff.
Hip-Hop is all utter crap, not a single good song on it except for maybe a few laughs on Learn 2 Play. Sign up REAL artists with actual talent. Rap is just talking in rhythm, not actual music. Get artists who incorporate singing with their rap, like Usher or Chris Brown. They’re good. I don’t typically listen to Hip-Hop because the lyrics go like “We get laid with the fizzle and smoke drugs, shoot some policeman and then *insert swearing here*” but we do need some more, good stepfiles in that category.
And, I doubt it’s going to happen, but I’d wet my pants if we could get Weird Al’s permission.
Cascada’s pretty good also, same with They Might Be Giants and Jack Johnson. Some older bands, Tower of Power, Earth Wind & Fire, Stevie Wonder… I don’t know. Definitely EW&F, I can envision having fun tapping arrows to their songs.

Sum 41′s older stuff is better, in my oppinion, than their newer stuff and that would be a nice addition to see on FFR. Also, if FFR’s file system can hold the length of songs and amount of arrows, some Dragonforce. Those are what I would like to see come onto FFR.

Right, I think these shouldn´t be a problem to get permission for:
“Cool&Jazzy”, a Russian a cappella group who sing a variety of songs, ranging from Russian folk and pop to jazz and classical. Great arrangements, nice sound. A bit liek the Swingle Singers which I would like to see on ffr as well, although I guess they’re harder to get.
In general, jazz and classical need to be expanded. I’m a lover of violin jazz myself, so Regina Carter would be worth a shot. Maybe out of reach, but the Rosenberg Trio would be nice too. Other than that, well, the oldies liek Brubeck, Monk etc hehe. Classical: not just Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Brahms, but also more modern classical music like Poulenc, Ravel, Shostakovich or even Schoenberg and Bartok (Bartok would be great to step, challenging rythmical patterns).

I would love to see Amon Amarth.
They’re a viking metal band from Sweden, and all of their songs are about Viking mythology and battles with the Germans and Irish.
Just take a listen to one of their songs of their last album, With Oden On Our Side, and you’ll be blown away by the melody, rhythm, complexity and strangely understandable throaty lyrics.
Stepping them wouldn’t be hard either because they pump out sick melodies that would go with a stepfile like nothing.

Coheed and Cambria. The rifts and chord progressions in some of their songs is nearly orgasmic. Like the beginning to “Welcome Home” (a song of theirs, obviously). The tabs on the guitar are mind blowing. Drums aren’t half bad either.
I’d also like to see some Say Anything perhaps. Any of their songs would be nice.
Hmm… System of a Down would be awesome. So would Bloodhound Gang.

Their songs are monstrously long, yes, but they’re very complex, with a lot of different patterns and melodies that could easily be played with. Also, we need more death metal, dammit.

I’ve been waiting for another wishlist, lol.
65daysofstatic would be PHENOMINAL, and I bet you could probably get permission from them fairly easily. Nothing better than a post-rock/breakcore fusion made by guys who genuinely like pop music. It’s like a Mogwai that you can dance to.
The only possible stumbling block would be the length of some of their songs/song titles. Check out The Major Cities of the World Are Being Destroyed One By One By the Monsters, if at all possible. One of my favorites of theirs, and you can never go wrong with Godzilla references.
Some more The Flashbulb would be nice too, I suppose, though I’d prefer something sort of different from either of the Flashbulb songs already in FFR. I always liked Lawn Wake IX more than IV anyway, and Do Not Sex To This is a fairly mediocre song.
Solar would make for an excellent FGO song, and Mellann would be a great choice too. (Both are around two and a bit minutes long.)
Other bands that would be excellent: Department of Eagles, Mahavishnu Orchestra (I Wonder or Vital Transformation), The Octopus Project (The Adjustor and Music Is Happiness are both good options.), Porcupine Tree (Signify would be GREAT.), and I’ll also second ‘Anything off the Anticon label’.
And last, but CERTAINLY not least, I’d love to see more stuff from our friends over at OCRemix.

Daft Punk would be phenominal but hard to get. They are loved all around the world.
Against Me! Is a great band. Very political and melodic. They play good rock. I’m so sick of all the metal and screamy songs WAHHHHHH.
Also the Bravery has some great techno-y/rock-y stuff. Fun for everyone with good steps.

There are four bands that would make a great addition and I even decided on the songs too.
Kamelot-The Black Halo. This would be a great difficult song with fast guitar streams, and would fit well in either rock or Misc (because its more metal)
DevilDriver Ripped Apart, you can download my file on ddrplace.com My username is Challenge there.
Kreator-One Evil Comes. This song has a guitar riff that fits great with a gallop and it’s shooting drums in the chorus would go great with hard fast short streams. I also made a file for this song.

no really though, Aquabats are a mad good band. i suppose you could consider them nerd-core rock although the sound of each song varies slightly (something for everyone). the usually have a noticable beat with awesome bass and giutar riffs, great for jumps and jump-streams. I love how this has turned into “List your favorite bands” regardless of whether or not they would be good on FFR. I can tell you right now that Dimmu Borgir is not FFR material, that doesn’t say anything about how good they are, I’m just saying they might not be what FFR needs. Not all metal is steppable.
And shut up about The Academy Is…, The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Paramore, etc. Just because you like them doesn’t mean that they would be interesting songs to step. I would hate to be the sorry chap who has to step a Paramore song. That’d be boring as hell.

I noticed a lot of the requests are based off of favorite rock/metal bands. I personally think those songs don’t fit well in games like FFR, they’re more suited for Guitar Hero.
I’m recommending bands from the genre of Aggrotech, which there’s a lack of on FFR
Vicious Alliance, Panzer Division, FGFC820, The Strand, Die Sektor, Destroid, Psyclon Nine, Grendel, and The Gothsicles
I definitely recommend Panzer Division, his songs are rather simple but extremely catchy.

I like having the addtion of Japanese artists would be nice. Not just saying the ones that have songs on anime, although those are the ones who would probablly draw in more crowds. Also, check out Polysics.
Also, I think Paul van Dyk is a great choice too. His music has been around for a while and still seems to be popular in the US. A good example would be Faster Kill Pussycat, where Brittnay Murphy sings in the song.
Justice is a band I just recently got into. They sound similar to Daft Punk, so I think fans of Daft Punk would like Justice.

None, since they’re all going to go to widgets anyways. More songs for FFR V1′s hip hop category and classical would be nice to see. We seem to have large rock, dance(2) and misc sections after all. No specific artists to reccomend, just didn’t want all of these great bands to go to widgets. They were meant to bring people into FFR, so why take all of our members’ advice via bands, and direct it away from them? Doesn’t make sense to me.

Dunno if you guys are still taking suggestions, and I’ve made quite a few already, but after played Guitar Hero 3, I realized we definatly need some Dragonforce. THey would easily volunteer for it if they knew about this, and their songs have amazing rythm, lyrics, and KICK ASS SOLOS.
Another band I’d like to request isn’t very well-known, but if they were, they could easily be the new Iron Maiden. They are Lips Of Venom and have that old school metal style, but are brand-spanking new. All they need is some promotion.
