20 Year FFR Stepchart Celebration: Day 1
Hello!
Some of you may have already seen the thread from October 23rd, which was the 20 year anniversary of FFR’s first ingame chart (Terror From Beyond). As part of the celebration of this milestone, there will be a 20 day release event from October 24th-November 12th which will replace Songs of the Week.
There is planned to be a daily release, with at least one chart per day at 10 PM Server Time.
Without further ado, the first song we have to start is Bloodlust!

Songs of the Week and Weekly Update 10/1/2022
Welcome to the first Songs of the Week Release for October! We have an interesting release when it comes to these songs, as the length and note counts get lower but the difficulty increases.
Note this is being released one day early to account for some site changes coming on Saturday.
A lot of excitement to start out this week! Today is the first day of Season 5, which marks a full year of seasons. There’s been an average of just under 400 players ranked per season so far, and we hope to see that number grow as we look to expand features and rewards! For those that ranked in Season 4, you’ll see Fall participation badges coming soon.
There’s an important change taking place with our batch system that starts today. Instead of two-month batches we will be having three-month batches to match our seasonal schedule. The submission cap will remain the same so this new schedule will allow for the judges to catch up on judging previous files. On top of this change, we are opening up applications for those looking to help us judge potential FFR content! Applications will be open until October 15th, and prospective judges will ultimately be asked to provide feedback on a few files as a part of the process.
To apply for the FFR Simfile Judge position, please fill out the application form found at this link! Good luck to those that apply!
As with previous seasonal changes, a large chunk of songs have had their difficulties adjusted. You can find the complete list of changes on our spreadsheet.

Songs of the Week and Weekly Update 9/3/2022
Welcome to the first Songs of the Week Release in September, after the end of the 15th Official Tournament! Songs of the Week will resume with three songs a week, with releases on Saturdays at 12 AM Server Time as of now.
Before getting to our song releases, there are a couple long term-events to talk about:
First, we have the FFR Pattern Labeling Project. This event was put in place to better define FFR files by the hardest patterns within them. You can earn 100 credits per song you help with, and there’s still plenty of songs to add pattern labels for. Check out the thread for details and consider helping out if you have the time!
The second ongoing event is The Official New Musician Reward System. This event awards our stepartists that step a song for FFR with a new musician. You can earn 10,000 credits per accepted file, and up to three event tokens a year depending on how many files you get accepted. If you’ve ever considered stepping songs from some unused permissions for FFR before, now is a great chance to do so!
As always with any event we host, please carefully read the rules within the event’s respective thread before participating.
Oh, and a quick reminder that there’s roughly a month left before the Aug/Sept 2022 batch closes.
You’ve all been playing difficult files during the tournament, so let’s have a calmer release this time around. For those that live in the U.S., this is also Labor Day Weekend!
It should also be noted that this release marks 3000 files in public levelranks. Before today’s release, we were at exactly 2999 files in public levelranks. As part of this milestone, all three files this release will be made available immediately to all players. Additionally with this week’s releases we have three new musicians to talk about!
