Seamus O’Toole… I’m Ready To Get Drunk!
And why is that, you might ask? Well, for one thing, it’s ST PATRICK’S DAY! For another, any holiday is an excellent excuse to release a simfile. So without further ado, I bring you Pretty Green Onions by DJ Sharpnel (and as always, Sharpnel’s site is NSFW). The file is pretty difficult and quite long. 1608 steps in 3:28 at 193bpm makes this file a Very Challenging (10/12 on the scale). You can find it in the upper left corner of Misc Page 1 for the time being, with it later being moved to its proper spot within Misc.
Little bit of a story behind this file. It all started by pokelda informing me that he was stepping PGO with all 64th arrows (64th arrows are green, for those unaware) as a tribute for St. Pat’s. I thought this had potential, but I needed to see the finished project still. Unfortunately, when Shash and I got down to playing it, it was very very difficult to read. So we were heartbroken, but had to turn down the file. BUT… it turns out that another one of our up-and-coming stepfile authors, Cyanite, had a similar idea, sans the green arrows. So we took his file, which was only finished 2 weeks ago, and threw it to the head of the queue, just in time for today.
So with all of that, ENJOY Pretty Green Onions. And if you’re of legal age to drink, have a beer with me on this most joyous of holidays.

Special Song release! Brightone by onoken
In case some of you haven’t noticed, a special file was released yesterday in honor of my birthday. YAY!
The song is Brightone, by Japanese artist onoken, and the steps are by me, hi19hi19. Brightone is a very upbeat and unique song, and the steps reflect that. I sometimes find it hard to resist getting up and dancing to this song when I play it.
The file can be found in the top left corner of Dance2. Its rating is 4/6 (Very Difficult), so many people will be able to enjoy a challenge while still having fun.
If you wish to discuss the song and file, post in this thread. You can also post your scores in this thread.
Have a good time!

Some of you may have noticed that the FFR Challenges that were pending for you (and consequently were holding credits) has been updated. We now expire challenges that are 7 days old.
Additionally, we are doing some profile updates and tweaks to the profile chat in the coming hours.
Expect another news story, and if I am dumb enough, even another token tonight.
More shortly.

Hear FFR Artists Live!
Hey guys, here’s a heads up:
1) If you’re in the Ohio area on March 24, 2007, you should attend the Autobahn Electronic Pop Festival. FFR artists Joy Electric and Freezepop are going to be there – with any luck, we might be hearing some familiar music.
It would be really nice to see a whole crew of people there in amazingly good-looking FFR shirts. This will also allow these artists know how much we appreciate their hard work. As an added bonus, the shirt will have the girls (or guys) jumping on you like cling wrap.
2) If you’re not going to be in the Ohio area on March 24, buy a plane ticket there, or drive. If you don’t have a car, remember, hitchhiking is legal in 46 states.
Cheers,
Chardish & Spontaneous Road Trips
Official FFR Tournament Round 3
Another quick note (these are all going to be quick, until the tourney ends): Round 3 of the tournament started this past Monday, so you have until next Tuesday (February 27th) at 11 PM EST to submit. Less than a quarter of the players who signed up are still in…and another half or so will be eliminated this week as well.
You can find this round’s songs and matchups, in this thread in Brag Board.
Happy tournamenting,

4x the fun on Tass’s day of birth
So, in honor of my birthday, I have added 4 new files for everyone. Why 4? Because 2007 marks the 4th time that I have shared my birthday with all of the fine folks on FFR. 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007. My 20th, 21st, 22nd, and 23rd birthdays. No link for 20th, as I really wasn’t posting on the forums then. And please do not bump the old topics… but feel free to read and enjoy them.
Onto the SONGS!
That is Fair is our first addition from Vospi, although expect a few more in the near future. It is of Very Difficult difficulty, having some 16th streams with 32nds mixed into it for fun. Great song all around and excellent steps by mass stepfile producer hi19hi19. It is located on page 1 of Dance2.
Aztec Templing is a remix by our very favorite DM Ashura. The original is by Hi-G. Quite unique in sound, and Very Challenging in difficulty, mostly because of the 205bpm 8th jumps that cause the jack bug to take effect. Oh well. This can also be found in Dance2, page 3. Stepfile by our other mass producer of awesomely quality files… Rebirth0.
Troglodytic Epica is our first song DJ Sane, who goes by Sane here at FFR. The song is Epic Trance, and has a larger than life sound that will keep you playing for all 4 minutes and 31 seconds. As with most of the files by dore, this one is not overly challenging, but the length alone makes it difficult. There is also one small jump-burst section that could prove a bit tricky. We rate it Difficult and you can find it on the last page of Dance.
Finally, we have {Blaze}, by highly popular cornandbeans. Stepped by Kit-, this file is a fun fix of jumps and stream. Fairly challenging, we rated it a high 4.5/6, or Challenging. If you enjoy the song {Rose}, you’ll love {Blaze}.
Thanks again to everyone here on this site. Without all of you guys, I wouldn’t be so motivated to do all the things that I do around here.
-Tass… little bit older, still working on getting wise.

2nd Official FFR Tournament: Round 1
Okay, so after a week of looking through an unimaginably large number of levelrank lists, I finally finished placing everyone…which means it’s time to begin the tournament!
If you’re one of the over a thousand players who signed up for this tournament, check this thread to see which division you’re in and which song you’ll be playing. Send a screenshot of the best score you can get on your division’s main song (you can submit as many screenshots as you want, only the last one counts) to [email protected]. You can also use FFR’s Private Message system to send me screenshots of your scores. Only scores achieved after the start of the round are valid. Remember, there are prizes for the top 8 spots in each division, and the top 3 of each division get cash prizes.
More information and rules for the tournament can be found here.
The first round ends on Wednesday, February 7th at 11:00 PM EST. Don’t forget to submit a score before then if you’re in the tournament!
Happy FFR’ing,
