Fireside Radio Chat TONIGHT! 8pm EST
OK Guys… so tonight, JasonKey and I will be on the radio answering questions concerning the future of FFR. Your questions can be about ANYTHING… but if it is something pertaining to you specifically, we likely won’t answer it. We want to try and hit on questions that will help everyone.
I’ll be making another post later tonight before the show with final details on things… like what channel we’ll be on, how to connect, and whatnot.
BUT… the important thing… HOW TO SUBMIT QUESTIONS! All questions can be submitted via PM to me, Tasselfoot, via the forums. This is the link to send a PM. Make sure to put “Fireside Chat Question” as the topic of the PM so that I know that is what your PM is about.
Thanks guys! Make sure to tune in, I’m sure there will be plenty of awesome questions answered tonight. You won’t want to miss it!

Cool Upcoming Stuff – Fireside Chat & Subscriber Week!
This Thursday night at 8pm EST will be the 1st (of hopefully many) Fireside Chat with the admins. JasonKey and I will be on the radio for at least 1 hour (likely 2+) doing nothing but answering questions and discussing the future of all aspects of the site. This is pretty much a first warning that it’s going to happen. We’ll post more details tomorrow and Thursday… such as how to submit questions to us and how to listen in.
Also, I’d like to announce my most recent idea on how to clean out the queue. Next week (Mon-Sun), we’ll be releasing new subscriber songs every single day. But not just 1 new song every day, because that wouldn’t do very much to clear out the queue. No no no… We’ll be releasing TEN new songs every single day for the entire week. Each and every song will be subscriber only for 4 full weeks before being made public. So 70 new subscriber songs next week… an event to remember.

Skill Token Maintenance Underway
After 16 straight hours of working on the token system yesterday, it seems actually going to bed was enough for a problem to rear its ugly head and throw a wrench into the mix.
Skill tokens are still able to be earned and are stored on personal profiles, but for some reason, earned skill tokens are not appearing in-game under the skill token genre. A lot of people have notified us of this inconvenience and please know that we are working on this issue and will have it ironed out as soon as we possibly can. Thank you to all who posted the error.
On a side note, I just started posting on the front page this week. Are you guys sick of hearing from me yet?
Two More Songs Publically Available
To start off your afternoon, two songs formerly available only to subscribers have now been made public for your keyboard smashing entertainment.
The first song file adds yet another Kyle Ward song to the mix with Take Me Back by KaW. Fans of In the Groove should recognize bits of the song as being implemented as menu music in the arcade game In the Groove 2. Take Me Back is rated 9 in difficulty (4.5/6 on the Chardish scale) and runs for 2:03 but most users shouldn’t find the file too difficult to clear. After a day of files with nothing but red and blue arrows, expert members will be glad to know they’ll be seeing yellows, purples and pinks in this file made for us by Brilliant. Air steps accent the thumping bass in featured in this song and a trill run toward the end will really test those looking for a AAA.
The second song is a new ASK addition to FFR, featuring a stepfile created for us by Cyanite. For those looking for more of a challenge than what yesterday’s files provided should flock to Sympathizer, ranking in at a 10 difficulty (5/6 on the Chardish scale). The song itself runs for 3:42 and is filled with air steps and trickier patterns to provide for a challenging step file.
Both of these songs can be found in the Dance 2 genre on page 5 toward the bottom of the list. Have fun and don’t forget new original material will be put online later today – don’t miss it!
Admincon 2 Bonus Song #1 – Killer Dance Floor
To kick off the first of the bonus songs to be launched into public this week, nestlekwik presents Killer Dance Floor by Dj GULIT.
This is one of the songs, much like Bomb the Base, that has been on the backlog for years and is finally making its way into the game. Killer Dance Floor comes in as a difficulty of 5 (standard or 2.5/6 on the Chardish scale), making it just a tad harder than most of my stepfile creations. The song features massive amounts of streams, with plenty of air steps to punctuate the drum snares and standout vocals and synth. It shouldn’t be hard to pass or too hard to full combo, but with more than 500 steps in 1 minute 47 seconds, getting a AAA should be trickier than in most of my other step files.
**As of this time, we are aware of the issue on Killer Dance Floor that causes the game to give you an automatic game over if you select to replay the song at the results screen. Please be patient as we address this issue.**
Regardless, enjoy the song and look forward to more bonus content and events as Admincon 2 continues. While it hasn’t been immediately evident on the site, we have made a load of progress on new and existing features that should start popping up soon. In fact, we plan to add yet another bonus simfile onto FFR tonight, so keep checking back and bask in the glory that is the hard work of eight people with laptops sitting at a table in a house in Chicago. If time permits, we will also be holding a few events tonight, so stay tuned to get the details.

Song of the Week Players Matched Up
As many of you may know, the FFR players have been playing this week’s Song of the Week – 20031023 hard and heavy. As a result, many of the competitors are now tied for the top spot of high score. The current Top 10 for 20031023 tells the tale as it were:
1 – dAnceguy117 – 1734450
2 – Shashakiro – 1734450
3 – Bahamut-X – 1734450
4 – scottish – 1734450
5 – Dynam0 – 1734175
6 – Lokfable – 1733900
7 – Loyal2Death – 1733900
8 – Exag0n – 1733625
9 – argo15 – 1733625
10 – Breach – 1733625
Often times it may seem that we focus in on only a few of our top players. However, n3v3rl4nd pointed out that it would be a good idea if we make an effort to mention other top players at FFR and put their names up in lights.
We generally do our best to listen to your suggestions. Always feel free to comment and give us feedback. We will do our best to make sure that your ideas are taken into consideration for future enhancements.
As promised,
Jason Key and the Advil Junkies
