FFRMas Day 10: Four More Songs
Sorry for delay, but I have just received word that the files for Day 10 of the 12 Days of FFRMas are now live, making four more Flash Flash Revolution songs available in the hip-hop genre – scroll down three pages and you’ll see them listed as the last songs:
First up, providing a mellow 2 difficulty, Nina Goddess of Dance brings more Euro house to FFR with the addition of Don’t You Want Me, a stepfile by MixMasterLar that flows with the airy vocals and bassline. Bumping up the difficulty, Progression by Draigun enters in with a difficulty level 9 stepfile by Silvuh that continually flows with triplets and is accented with tricky parts all through the song. The next two additions turn the difficulty dial up to 10 – Neonatrias provides a quickfire stepfile with the intense Ascii Art Core by Yamajet that will have you seeing plenty of yellow. Shanghai Girl of Meiji 17 by dBu is a little more laid back with a file by behanjc, which follows the song’s orchestral feel, but unlike the fast-paced 1:24 runtime of Ascii Art Core, this level 10 file runs just short of four minutes.
Of course, being that it is now day 11 in the event, you should expect to see another update later today with even more FFR song additions.
Day 8 + 9 = Day 17? More FFR Songs!
While most of us are currently enjoying the laurels of the holiday, I’m stepping in real quick for the mighty Tasselfoot to fill you in on the details of the 12 Days of FFRMas additions for days 8 and 9. Honestly, it’s been a good spell since I’ve tackled the beast that is Flash Flash Revolution, so without further ado, enough of my blabber and on with the tunes, which are all located at the bottom pages of the hip-hop genre:
Day 8 (Friday, Dec. 21)
First up is Shin Trigger by ZeRo_BaSs, a fast-paced song with a difficulty 7 stepfile by SulferDragon, featuring a number of yellow note patterns that follow the melodies. Same Dream by DJ Sharpnel is a melodic song full of 1/8th streams, resulting in a fitting difficulty 4 stepfile by ElectricWerewolf. Next, in a level featuring a good amount of streaming arrows, Hadazumi Rittou by Schizophrenic Raccoon might appear easier than labeled until you hit the burst toward the end in this difficulty 7 stepfile by Silvuh. To finish out yesterday’s additions, the Kyle Ward-produced tune Clockwork Genesis by Inspector K uses a good amount of air steps and yellow notes to serve up a difficulty 8 stepfile by eastsideman09.
Day 9 (Saturday, Dec. 22)
In today’s first addition, Midnight of the North comes at you courtesy of Sanxion7 with a difficulty 7 stepfile by blahblahblahblahblahblah that features a good amount of yellow note triplets and strings. In today’s first difficulty 9 stepfile, Megane De Ne! by MOSAIC.WAV features peppy vocals and melodies along with a challenging guitar solo in this file by jimerax. Finally, players will get to taste the rainbow of different note colors in Sunny Side Up by Stargroup100 with a suitable difficulty 9 stepfile produced by the song’s own author, Stargroup100.
As you might expect, day 10 will be coming at you very soon as we count down the final days of this now annual event. We hope you are enjoying the additions as we wrap up yet another great year here at Flash Flash Revolution.
Day 8 – No Time For News!
I have to run off to the airport in an hour, and have to pack and stuff still… so, no time to write up a full news story on today’s songs. But, there are 4 of them. They are really fun. And they are in Hip-Hop. That is really all you need to know. I’ll give a full write up on them + tomorrow’s songs tomorrow.
Nestle’s quick reference of added song titles until Tass updates:
Shin Trigger, Same Dream, Hadazumi Rittou, Clockwork Genesis
And in case you missed the skill token announcement among the T-Shirt design entry: FC RainDrops with 463+ Perfects to unlock RainDrops v2.

FFR T-Shirt Design Contest!!! Plus New Skill Token!
I’ve mentioned it a few times over the past few months, and it’s finally a reality. We’re holding a contest to design the next FFR T-shirt! The winner will have their design used for our next shirt AND will receive the first shirt, hot off the press, for free.
Things to know or keep in mind:
-Needs to be done in 300dpi or higher OR in vector (think illustrator)
-The more colors in the design, the more the shirt will cost (so try to limit it to 2 colors)
-Shirts with front and back designs (vs just front) will cost more as well
-The design shouldn’t be bigger than 12″ wide by 14″ tall
-We’ll be choosing finalists based on design as well as cost to produce
Designs can be PMed to Tasselfoot. From there, the admin team will convene in our secret lair and decide on a few designs as finalists. Then everyone will get to vote on their favorite from the finalists. The design with the highest vote total will win. The rest of the finalists will receive subscription prizes!
Artists have until January 7th, 2008 to get their submissions sent in. Discussions/Designs can be posted in the official thread. Official Logo image can be downloaded from: FFR Official Logo

PS – New ST… FC RainDrops with 463+ Perfects to unlock RainDrops v2. Enjoy. Stepfile by Vote4Nixon, a 7.
Day 7 – Tass Accidentially Deletes His Spreadsheet
Unbelievably annoying, but true. So for the final half of this event, I’ll be trying to re-create what I had originally laid out. I’ve got a pretty good memory, but it won’t be 100% the same as it otherwise would have been. Feel free to mock me, I deserve it. My apologies.
In better news, there are 4 songs in today’s release! Comptine D’un Autre Ete Techno Mix is, clearly, a remix of a French song. I don’t really know much more about it. It’s fun to play though! And it’s our first song by BreeD, who goes by TK_Breed on our site. Stepfile is by Kotarouchan, her 2nd. I give it an 8 in difficulty for it’s long 16th stream and jump triplets.
Hero’s Theme (w.i.p.) is yet another cornandbeans song without braces. Amazing. This song is pretty epic… similar to DarkeSword stuff, only better IMO. Stepfile is by brothaice and is fairly unique. It has a long 8th jump section with 16th thrown in that I find extremely hard to PA, along with a 12th stream section with 8ths in it and a 16th staircase section with 32nds thrown in. Check it out for yourselves… I find it to be a 10 in difficulty because of the hardness to PA the unusual patterns.
Finally, our first song by rock group Machinae Supremacy, Koala in the Spider’s Web. It’s a pretty downtempo song, and a bit repetitive, but still very chill to listen to. Stepfile is by first-timer three17s. Initially I thought it was a 4, but then there were some 8th chains so I thought it was a 5, but at the end there were 2 small 16th staircases that made it a 6. Enjoy.
Oh, wait… I said 4, right? Well… the fourth isn’t out yet. Won’t be out til the evening. And you’ll have to have some SKILL to get it. Hint Hint.
These 3 are in Hip-Hop, 4th will be somewhere else… will put another blurb up when that goes live.

Day 6 – Legendary Lunar Saturation Etude
For those who enjoyed Pupil of Frenzy yesterday, we’ve got a back-to-back touhou sighting with today’s release of Lunar Saturation, and SUN3 arrangement of the song by ZUN. Stepfile is by Rebirth0, so you know it’s good. 24 4-framers fill this 185bpm file, with most coming in an intense ending. Definitely a 10.
Legendary Etude is our first song by AEROJET since last year’s FFRmas event, when we released Kick It. Stepfile is by hi19hi19 and is a pitch-relevant classical remix type song. Not too bad, 150bpm streamy song with lots of trills and runningmen. But watch out for the ending! 9 on the difficulty scale.
Songs in Hip-Hop… and I’m hungry.

Day 5 – I can’t come up with a catchy title for today’s songs. :’(
So, I’ll just get right into the nitty-gritty. Pupil of Frenzy is a killer progressive rock and touhou remix song by dBu. If you like Synaxis Symphony, The Brain of the Moon, or anything else similar… you’ll love this song. Even if you don’t… you’ll love this song. It’s long too, so there is a lot to love. Just a hair under 4 minutes. File is full of long 16th bursts, 8th chain sections, and even has a nice white-note gallop section. Comes it at a 9 in difficulty, stepped courtesy of Neonatrias.
There was a thread going around talking about the lack of in-house artists being featured in FFR recently. As always, just a coincidence… but we’ve got 2 featured in today’s songs. Air Breeze is a techno song by Wickedawesomeful and stepped by FFR’s 2nd most underappreciated stepfiler (next to Stargroup100), Vote4Nixon. If you need practice on short rolls, this is the song for you. It’s pretty much full of 3 note long rolls in succession. Comes in at an 8 on the Tass-O-Hard meter. Secondly, Dragons Bane is a wicked sweet (I’m not from Boston, I swear!) tune from DJSBX under alias D-Latch. Stepped by the master of the 12th note, hi19hi19, this song will have you playing it repeatedly, just to listen to it again and again. It’s also a bit tricky, with some 24th rolls at the beginning and end. Definitely a 9.
Finally, (yes… you get four songs… again. I think I broke random.org with all the 4s I rolled) our first song by ASK since Sympathizer way back in June. Life Light is a up-tempo (190bpm) song that’ll make you want to run and lift weights (at the same time!). Stepfile is by Cyanite, and it has 28 4-framers in it, most in the last 35 seconds.
Songs are in Hip-Hop… and darn am I tired. Night y’all.

Angels & Airwaves Winners to be Announced
We just received word that will be announcing the winners for the recent Angels & Airwaves contest on Weds Dec 12th. The band will be available that week and we will be shipping out the signed merchandise that same Friday.
Thanks to everyone who participated in this crazy contest. You helped in many ways to make the Angels & Airwaves launch a success and did FFR proud by supporting an artist that believes in what we are doing.
Any suggestions for another contest with an FFR / Widget artist?
Cheers,
Synthlight
FFR Artist Wishlist – Take 2
A few months ago I asked everyone which artists they would like to see on FFR. The Response was overwhelming and we had all kinds of suggestions. We have since then accomplished working with some of those requested artist. No artist was toooo large or small and I think was able to surprise quite a few of you with who we came up with.
Now I am renewing my request. I just want all of you to respond with every artist you would still like to see on FFR. You can request 1 artist or 50 of them. I want to hear about them all and I want to hear your thoughts about them. Tell me why you would like to see them on FFR or why their music would make an interesting match to promote.
Lay’em on me!
Cheers,
Synthlight
