Tier Points
New list is done! Exactly 200 songs from difficulties 50 to 99 appear on this list, with a total of 1500 points up for grabs. We also have some pretty sleek badges ready for you guys for gaining entry to each new tier level. The tier levels are as follows:
Tier 6: 1450 points
Tier 5: 1250 points
Tier 4: 1000 points
Tier 3: 750 points
Tier 2: 500 points
Tier 1: 200 points
Tier 0: Earn your first tier point!
Tier badges can be found where your profile badges are located.
Huge thanks to Silvuh for the fantastic badges, Velocity and Zageron for sifting through and creating a ton of code to make this fully functional, and PrawnSkunk for helping with the implementation of a dynamic AAA tier bonus that adjusts the AAA requirements automatically as new songs are added. The first bonus point is awarded at 50% of total songs (including tokens) in FFR AAA’d, with another point awarded for every additional percentage gained. 51% of AAAs will award a player with 2 points, all the way up to 50 points for 99% of songs AAA’d.
As a general divisional rule of thumb (meaning there are indeed exceptions), having 4 points on any one song places you at least as D3. Having at least 5 points on anything, minimum D4. 6 points, D5. 7 points, approaching D6 or low D6. 8 points, mid D6. 9 points, approaching D7 or low D7. 10 points, mid D7. 11 points, high D7. And 12+ points on either of the 14 point songs, wtf-tier (which at the moment is solely held by none other than you know who). Happy tier hunting!
Annual Forum Awards
Deadline’s coming up in just a few short days. If you plan on submitting votes for the 2014 Annual Forum Awards or TWG Awards, get them in while you still can! Votes will be accepted up to 11:59 PM server time on February 1st.
Also fully expecting feminist backlashes in the comment section for the salutation.

Wow back in my day even getting your first tier point meant something. Now they hand them just for passing song? Rofl. AND they have songs under lv 60 now?! wow. You don’t even have to FC the songs anymore either since it’s based off raw score. I guess this means all the people with their panties in a knot over how much they hate combo scoring will be happy. Also really nice job with the look and usability of the new tier list, but it doesn’t fit into the 90s theme of the rest of the site.
As for the songs this week I like them, DANK KNIGHT is pretty fun; Firstaids is a bit too hard for me but the file seems good; when did we get Justin Timberlake permissions?
DON’T WORRY owa girls can be cowboys too. /random thoughts

Will there be the ability to in the future, view other people’s tier point stats?
Posted at 10:53am on January 29th, 2015
does this mean I’m D5 now?
Posted at 11:53am on January 29th, 2015
I have 1/6 on club as (passed). Do the unrecorded manual scores affect this? I’m sure my score on club at least gets more than a pass, No?

About damn time we got raw scoring for tier points.
Posted at 11:57am on January 29th, 2015

Alright, from 3 to 128 tier points. Raw Scoring ftw!

There’s no way to derive raw score from total score, so you might be screwederino on Club, SK8R

Tier points rework looks interesting, now I just need to get good enough to actually get some
Posted at 6:29pm on January 29th, 2015
OMG, the Tier Point system is SO COOL! Now you can actually show a reward for getting points, and not just a number!! Those badges are sick man!! Keep up the innovation, because this site just keeps getting better, and better!!

badman7772: Yeah, that’s how the system was, and that’s how I had designed the badges at first. Like, the tier 0 badge was the triangle, because it was the top of the pyramid. For the other badges, the number of pieces is the number of the tier. One’s skill is cut into fewer pieces as one progresses. The colors are based on judgment accuracy, and the old order had balance: good/cool color for a simple/boring shape (teal triangle) and a “bad” color (red = miss) for a more interesting shape (red star).
But other people thought that the more complex badges should go to the higher tiers, so the triangle should be the bottom, because it was the most simple shape. I couldn’t convince them otherwise, though. I switched around the colors on the badges, because it wouldn’t make sense for the Perfect color to be next to the bottom. But now, the triangle is white, so it’s a boring shape with a boring color, and the tier 6 badge looks too busy, because it’s a complex shape with a loud color.
So, yeah, the numbering changed because of these badges. Wouldn’t make sense for the tier 2 badge to be cut into four pieces and vice versa.

Justin Timberlake in FFR? That’s quite a thing o.o

@Silvuh, I’m still upset the tier ‘pyramid’ idea where a player would accumulate pieces as they progress through the levels didn’t take off…I was a big fan of that but it seemed others wanted a badge replacement system, and with something like that it didn’t make much sense to have the highest tier be just the triangle :/

who are these others huh that sounds like a great idea and i really want that forget those guys

This is a really neat update!

Do I need to improve my total score in order to make the rew score record? I just improved my MANIERA raw score enough to give me 2 points but it didn’t do anything.

Sorry duppelpost, but this raw score tier point system doesn’t work at all
. You can even go backwards in points if you whore a low PA full combo.
Posted at 8:20am on February 2nd, 2015
Your tier points have always been determined by your best attained score on songs which determine tier points. Having it update because you failed out on purpose or did worse for any reason would be silly.

andy, we are not talking about the old system. The new system is based on raw score. What’s the point of having a raw score system if it still follows the total score system? Couldn’t it just work like the tourney system
