8 dollars? It was 3.50 for me.

You shouldn't talk down to people you don't know anything about, acting like you know more and then try to show them up in the forum. That's how you get absolutely no where.

Did you read the graphic novel first?
      The sex scenes were important.

I don't know what y'all are talking about. I loved it.

Acting could have been better on Laurie's part, and I questioned the music placement (Amanda liked it, though), but was that enough to be a significant detractor to the really good story that was going on? Absolutely not.

As for the sex scenes, well, y'all saw 300, right? Yeah.

I thought it a very good adaptation of the novel.

A mate lent me the novel but I never got around to reading it before seeing the movie so I was just open-minded. All in all I enjoyed it. It never really felt like it lasted two and a half hours.

I do however disagree with song choices. Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah" while they had sex was a very cringe-worthy moment and hilarious for all the wrong reasons. To be honest if they kept to the non-popular music then I think it would have been far more enjoyable, music wise.

Story wise I really enjoyed it, hell of a lot of intertwining story that I thought they held together well. Granted I've seen better movies but it wasn't a waste of time.

Now I'm reading the graphic novel to compare.

I honestly loved the movie as well. The group of friends I was with watching it was split.

Half my friends found it drawn out and boring. The other half absolutely loved it.

Seriously though guys, if you haven't already, get a hold of the graphic novel and take a gander. Imagine the task of taking that and turning it into a movie. They did a fantastic job.

Re: Post Your Reviews for "WATCHMEN"

I got back from seeing it about an hour ago. Forgive the crossposting if you've already read what I have to say.

I liked it. Didn't feel like a movie though... felt almost like a miniseries with really high production values. Almost disjointed. Not "disjointed", but something like it, something feeling almost separated about the way the story was told. Could this be perhaps because it was originally printed as normal issue comics? I don't know, not having read the comics myself yet.

And yes, after seeing it, I can completely understand the gripes with the music, however, my only real problem was with 99 Luftballoons and Hallelujah. For 99 Luftballoons, the song was just too hard, too agressive for the emotion of the scene. For Hallelujah, it was the lack of soul in the rendition; I know someone mentioned this before in another thread (perhaps this one?) and they were totally right. A different version of Hallelujah would have played marvelously in that scene.

Oh, and one more thing: the action sequences. Does Snyder have to do them in all of his films that way or what? I like the look of it personally, but after seeing the style used in 300 already, it felt unoriginal when it otherwise would have looked amazing here.
