I'm sure there are Army Bases in and around NYC. I was merely questioning how you could not hear the Army until the camera turned around and it showed the men running and shooting with guns. Also, since there were tanks and stuff, I'd imagine you could hear them rolling along in the streets. I don't wonder if and how the army could get in NYC, just the fact that the main characters will be walking along, then the Army is seemingly steps behind them and they unleash all they got.

It's just that since there seemed to be a large medical operation going on, seeing all the beds filled with people and all, that someone there would have noticed her condition. Sure the Army is fighting the monster, but there's plenty of staff right there tending to the wounded. I just figured one of the medics would have noticed her bite. MalReynolds mentioned that she had a sweater completely covering it, so that might be the reason why they didn't react to her until they did. I can't remember if she did or didn't have it covered up like this, so his response might be the answer to that question.

          But a flop and a movie you don't like - 2 different things =D

          EDIT:

And I saw the movie 3 times. Her wound is covered by the sweater - that bugged me, that she would put the sweater back on, because that would chafe. She also had it bandaged pretty well.

I JUST saw it, I got a ton more then I expected, and enjoyed it from start to finish.
I wish it were longer, I didn't want it to end really.
I saw it alone, which meant no distractions, and felt like I was there.

Man, what a rush, felt like a ride at a theme park. I would DEFINITELY see it again, and probably will.

Saw it a second time last night with about 10 of my friends who all enjoyed it.

              One thing:

When they just ran off of the bridge and before they go into the electronics store, there is a bank or some building with the name of Sephora. I'm not sure if it was just put there or if it has some special meaning because a chunk of the camera was on it and it seems as if it has some significance.

ALSO, the monster's size changes dramatically over the course of the movie. At the beginning a single whip of its tail brings down the bridge, then later on it covers basically a city block. When it eats Hud, it's barely 30 feet high.
                Two things.

                Hud was probably zooming in

Did anyone get nauseous during the movie? Personally, I felt fine, but there were so many reviews and even a few friends mentioning throwing up. "Make sure you get some dramamine," etc.

Sephora is a chain of beauty product stores founded in France in 1969 and acquired by Paris-based LVMH in 1997.

I just saw it earlier today, and I was wandering as to how anyone could get sick, I mean sure it was shaky in some parts, but do you get sick when you shake your head? If not, I really don't see how you could get sick during the movie.

Just saw it tonight. Was funnier than it was scary.

I didn't get sick at all, felt fine the entire time.

It was a good movie, and I don't mind the lack of explanation (since it was supposed to be an amateur video anyway), but some things were just plain stupid. I mean, when the head of the Statue of Liberty comes crashing down at me, the first thing I'm going to do is drop my camera and run away.

Also, the scene where they climb through the leaning building didn't feel real at all. I know it was supposed to be Hud compensating for the angle of the building, but maybe he did it a bit too well, because everything seemed upright and the characters' balance compensations seemed out of place.

Overall, it's a pretty good movie. Definitely worth it to go see it, and probably to buy it. But I wouldn't go to the movies to see it twice.
