I haven't read the book and since it seems that this is the only movie that doesn't correlate with the book evenly, this is a good thing for me.

I enjoyed the movie just like the others. Can't wait for the next two movies.

Actually the Order of the Phoenix could do that as well. When they were in the archway room dueling, there were streaks of black mist flying around, but with steaks of white mist chasing them.

Also, I don't see what's wrong with Tonks being attractive, I know if I could change my appearance at will I'd look pretty damn good.

Pretty much I liked everything at Hogwarts.... other stuff... not so much. I hate the way Sirius is all kind and understanding, in the book he seemed to be much more, for lack of a better term, savage. The time leading up to Christmas was about the only time he was kind and nice to everyone, afterward he was very gruff.

Overall, the movie was enjoyable, no doubt about that, but definitely had pieces that could have been translated better. The differences were noticeable, but not in a way that ruined the movie.

WTF, that doesn't count for ****. All because someone didn't read the book that inspired some movie doesn't mean they can't speak.

I didn't read any of the books, but I watched all five movies. Personally, I thought it was good, not the best, but pretty darn enjoyable. I know most people didn't care for it, but I liked how it looked like Umbridge was really uptight. Like Shash said, 116 decrees is rofl. So is that really crazy scene with Ron's twins. And how they made Cho the rat was a smart way to explain why Harry fell out of love with her. Very good move.

Different from the other four, but this is the third-best Potter movie (behind Azkaban and Goblet, of course).

7.5/10 (ALMOST four stars/five stars, or about B-)

Was book 5 the one with the Centaur taking over trelawney's position? It would've been cool to see that.

A little more grawp wouldn't have hurt in my opinion.

Also, wtf is with the lack of dobby? They put another house elf in this movie, so how hard would it have been to recycle dobby into a few scenes and get the voice actor back for like 20 lines? Honestly... they **** the bed in two movies with dobby now.

Other than that, I think the movie was pretty well done. Book 5, being my favourite, DID have a lot of stuff that would've just been dumb as part of a movie, so I think they did well with what was cut and what was changed.

It would've been cool to see that quidditch brawl though.

                Re: Harry Potter 5

I'm planning on seeing the movie sometime between now and the 21st. I've had the seventh book on pre-order from Amazon forever, so I'll be getting it soon after release. The movie will be a nice way to reacquaint myself with the world of Harry Potter after not having read a book or seen a movie in forever. It would be nice if it was the sixth movie coming out, but I more or less remember the important points of it anyway.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to seeing this. For me, the movies have been more or less a synopsis of the book so that it's easier for me to remember what's happened when I read the sequel or the book after it. And it appears I'll be able to marvel at the special effects, at least.

Doesn't seem like there's much else I can say until I actually go see the film, so I'll come back with a review when I finally get around to seeing it.

I saw this movie yesterday, and i can honestly say that i didn't like it very much. IMO it was my least favorite harry potter movie out of the 5 made so far, it just felt like the plot was slow through the entire movie. I have not read the 5th book so i cannot compare the book and the movie, but i still thought the movie was crap.

                    Re: Harry Potter 5

The movie is based off of a book on a fifth grade reading level. Your expectations can only be so high. I never understood anyone over 12 getting into the Harry Potter series. It is a little kids book... really. Start indulging in some literature that might actually stretch your mind a little rather than popcorn reads that do nothing to increase intelligence or ability. Movies are the same way to. While a bunch of friends of mine went out to watch Harry Potter, I stayed home and watched One Flew Over Cuckoo's Nest. One is a mundane piece of fantasy garbage, the other one is a masterfully written plotline that gives deep insight into human psychology while still presenting a more witty and entertaining plot than the former. Harry Potter is the fast food of the media world....

                    Hermoine is damn hot though.

Obviously you have never read the book (at least not the ones past the 3rd).

PS I also remembered the other thing I didn't like, CAREER ADVICE. There wasn't any. I wanted to see the epic argument between Umbridge and McGonagall. The only argument they really had was less than epic.

Just came back from the movie theater and I was very disappointed. But hey, it was better then Eragon miright? I'm a tough critic honesty, I just thought waaay too much stuff was left out. I mean, it was the longest book yet the shortest movie. The thing that bothered me the most is how Harry and Cho's relationship was like "Cry-MissCedricDiggory-Sorry-Mistletoe-Kiss-

I much prefer sci fi, but good sci fi movies are basically impossible to find.

And yes, it was better than eragon.
