I dont get why pretty much every kid in the US knows what Nick is. NOT THAT GREAT!

Because it appeals to the younger crowd, which you obviously aren't a part of. I must admit, it hasn't been all that good these past few years, but as long as it's getting millions of views, they'll stay on the air.
You might want to start calling it "Nickelodeon," by the way, because it almost confused me for a moment.

Or it could be that you've out grown it?
When I was a kid, Nickelodeon was the only true kids network, so I used to watch it a lot. When I was 13, our cable company picked up Cartoon Network and that soon became my favorite network...but I out grew that too. Now I watch Adult Swim. I don't think that it's so much a matter of Nickelodeon being any worse that it was, the network just has to cater to a new audience.
MTV on the other hand has become a f*cked to death smoldering pile of sh*t.Comment

This is true, there are many shows that we may grow out of. I may be one of the very few that liked the many shows that got cancelled, specifically Hey Arnold!, but after its cancellation, it turned me off. Sure, the series couldn't really host new episodes after the movie, but that didn't stop it from being a good show.
If I manage to find my away around Dish Network, I'll see if I can find some classic channel or something.
edit: I have to agree with you on MTV. I hear that they've screwed up G4 as well.

No...its not...
They cut out the good shows. Catdog, Hey Arnold, Rugrats, Invader Zim, Rocko's Modern Life, Ren and Stimpy. All of those shows had that double inuendo that you sorta laughed at.
Cartoon Network also went downhill when they got rid of Dexters Lab, it just sucked.
