I mean, beside the fact that the last hour of the movie was nothing but a non-stop fight.
How the hell is the nudity thing a complaint? Writhing naked chicks are not bad in my book.
Hell, nor is Leonidas' ass.

My friend has been talking to me about this movie for months. His father worked on some special effects. Well, that's the next movie i'm going to watch.
WTF.
It's a movie, ment to entertain.
Im pretty sure that the reason the movie was made was to entertain, not teach you about History.
So...wow. Those people are just dumb.
Back to the movie, I loved it.
I would give it 9/10.
The whole part of there being 15 foot tall chinese-bred monsters just, it was oddly thrown in. Made for a good fight, just oddly thrown in. The fighting? Dear God, some of the BEST I have ever seen. I spent 2 hours (on the way to play ITG2) explaining the film to my pal who didn't want to go see the movie.
Needless to say, He regretted not going to see it.

Quoted from Fallen's little petition thing:
"It is a proven scholarly fact that the Persian Empire in 480 B.C was the most magnificent and civilized empire. Established by the Cyrus the great, the writer of the first human right declaration, Persians ruled over significant portions of Greater Iran, the east modern Afghanistan and beyond into central Asia; in the north and west all of Asia Minor (modern Turkey), the upper Balkans peninsula (Thrace), and most of the Black Sea coastal regions; in the west and southwest the territories of modern Iraq, northern Saudi-Arabia, Jordan, Israel, Lebanon, Syria, all significant population centers of ancient Egypt and as far west as portions of Libya. Having twenty nations under control, encompassing approximately 7.5 million square kilometers, unquestionably the Achaemenid Empire was territorially the largest empire of classical antiquity.
Based on the Zoroastrian doctrine, it was the strong emphasis on honesty and integrity that gave the ancient Persians credibility to rule the world, even in the eyes of the people belonging to the conquered nations (Herodotus, mid 5th century B.C). Truth for the sake of truth, was the universal motto and the very core of the Persian culture that was followed not only by the great kings, but even the ordinary Persians made it a point to adhere to this code of conduct. "
This is stupid.
Xerxes: Extremely intolerant of all others beliefs and also the guy that destroyed the entire kingdom and great administrative regime AFTER Cyrus and Darius.
Whether or not Cyrus the Shepard was a great king is irrelevant, Xerxes, while in power, made a bad name for Persia.

You don't need nudity in a movie.
You're right, the female nudity had nothing to do with the manliness of Sparta itself. It was gratuitous and barely in the comic, but they put emphasis on it becuase they can't show 300 spartan penises on film like they did in the comic.
I know, I was disappointed too, but America just isn't ready for real manliness yet.
I saw it twice on opening day. They changed a few things from the comic that I felt they didn't need to change, which added a more severe tone (which I actually liked), but overall it was an amazing movie. The slowdown, speedup fight scenes were really well done.

They did that in a really cool way - they had three cameras set up within three inches or so of each other, one to film in long view, one that was zoomed, and one that was standard, and they could switch on the fly. Which is why durning the minute long scenes, there's all kinds of seamless zooming and flowing.

Yes, well, you also don't need violence or plot or pacing to make a movie. Just look at X3. These things are nice to have when pen is put to paper and light to celluloid.

I only want to see the movie after Guidos spoiler on page one. Yea I saw the gif but still, I need more. I love that kind of cheesy unintentional action humor. So I get the feeling this film will make me very happy.
