A post jogged my memory about this show on Adult Swim. I thought it was fairly good and it has gotten some pretty good ratings but why did AS discontinue to show it? I realize that it's probably be savegly butchered by American hands but I still thought it had a compelling plot to it. I wiki'd it though and it seems like they DBZ'd the series to the max. It's at 400 some episodes and it continues to go.

But anyways to the point of the thread, your thoughts? I found it to be really compelling and it would draw me to the edge of my seat with each episode. I think I'll take the time to go through a hundred or so episodes to see if it keeps that spark.

The only episode I watched was one that scared the living daylights out of me.

I couldn't sleep for DAYS.

I never returned to the series.

I loved this show despite its obvious horrendous edit job.

Seriously, this is the one instance where Funimation didn't completely kill a show with ****ty dubbing... if they had done direct translation, it probably wouldn't have made a whole lot of sense.

i loved that show. i always tried to figure out how did it before conan... most of the time i was right but sometimes i was wrong. great show

Case Closed is what used to get me up and awake in the morning. I'd get up at 5:30, watch it, then get ready for school. Then they got rid of it and I was all

I believe that the last episode that they aired was the one where you met his rival Harley or something and then the chinese liquor reverts him back to Jimmy for a time being. Then they just kinda stopped showing it for reasons unknown to me.

Maybe it's because they didn't make enough episodes for it to go on? Or a more popular Anime replaced it. But Futurama never makes new episodes anymore so idk why it's still on the air. I like to watch it, though. lol.

They probably stopped airing it for the same reasons they stop airing any anime.

The ratings of it can't compare to the big dogs like Inuyasha or Fullmetal Alchemst.

Ex: Anyone remember Witch Hunter Robin? How about Trigun? Big O? Lupin the Third?

OH! I completely forgot about Lupin the 3rd. I loved watchin that show, wished they'd show more of shows like that than 2 episodes of Futurama each day.

Trigun is on, but really rarely. There is only so much you can do with 26 episodes (I think there were 26). Case Closed is on sometimes, but barely ever. It makes it even better because it is so rare an Adult Swim.

Ratings? More like fanbase.

FMA is good, but if you had to go by ratings (FRR general consensus lol), Inuyasha would nearly be off the air (along with other pieces of **** like 12oz. Mouse, Squidbillies, and Tom Goes To the Mayor).

Okay, yeah, Inuyasha gets good reviews, but anyone who's anyone knows it's severely overrated.

-Witch Hunter Robin isn't too bad, only saw a few episodes though.
-Trigun I never really liked.
-Big O: YES.
-Kill me for this but I don't like Lupin the Third.
