Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni

Awesome show, ****ed up beyond the scope of most anime I've seen, and it's only 1/3 the way through airing. No, Squeek, not ****ed up in the "OMG MINDTRIP LOL EUREKA 7 LOL MECHA" sense, just COMPLETLY ****ED THE **** UP.

The way the series is set up and laid out is one of the most intriguing things I've seen in awhile, and the semi-interesting characters make it even better.

The plot synopsis sounds pretty goofy, but don't even worry about that. Up to eight episodes have been subbed (get WinD subs, they're the only group subbing it steadily as far as I know.) I don't know what the **** else to say other than

Yes, I've heard of the way Kefit described it. Makes me not want to watch it, and he even recommended I not do so, so I probably won't.

It's kind of a "love it or hate it" deal, I think. If you feel so inclined, I would check out the first four episodes. If you don't like those, then don't worry about watching the rest.

Also, do take the time to watch the first four episodes. If you don't like it, then it isn't really for you. However, this show has more preferrence to me than Haruhi does. If it helps at all, my brother who rarely watches anime, let alone subtitled anime, said he'd watch one or two episodes after I told him about how I reacted to how 8 ended. One or two episodes turned into all 8 that were out, and this is now the first anime we're watching together.

This looks interesting enough, and all of you guys have been talking about it non-stop.

I'll look into it after the show ends, and if I can get a decent explanation as to what makes the show so ****ed up. Yes, that's right, I require spoilers before watching a series such as this. 8)

You can watch 1-4 as one block and 5-8 as another, since each time the story resets. 9 starts a new chapter that is supposed to go for 5 episodes.

Episode 5 is the most scary though. Y'know, when he's gonna eat that lunch she made or whatever it was cuz I don't remember

In most animes, the characters always overreact and exaggerate when they want to show that something is delicious, like in screaming about how good it is or starting to cry or something like that (Cooking Master Boy lol). Instead he just says "mmm, delicious" calmly.

Two most noteworthy moments for me

Arc 1: "Please" don't be late for school tomorrow. omg eyes are scary
Arc 2: NAILS O_O

I dunno, I wouldn't be so quick to judge that the photographer was in her trunk. ****, we can't even say it was an actual body (although I'm rather positive it is).

You raise a good question about the hole though, I never even thought about that.
