I rather enjoyed the battle animation. It was a pleasant change from still figures in every background frame or two repeated frames for those not in focus. They actually chose to animate everybody individually. That's AWESOME.

Great episode. I knew they'd have to have a lead-in to what will happen next. Seems like another interesting event.

Yea I thought the battle animation was awesome. You could sorta see some loops in there but it really doesnt spoil anything.

Uh, Melancholy of Haruhi Suzimaya is not based on an hgame. It is based on a series of novels that make use of anime style illustrations.

But yes, Utawarerumono is based on an hgame, as are a lot of good series out there. Hgames in Japan often have awesome plots and/or characters, and make ideal anime source material. If you want me to go into this more, then look through the F/SN thread, where I think I have a post about it.

k, I am caught up with the subs now.

This show needs 597% more Eruruu. Her character he displayed a great range of emotion and depth in the somewhat minor screentime she has had, and I really want to see her do more than just sit in the background while Hakuoro and friends go off and kill things.

Speaking of which, the battles are nicely done, but they are getting kind of repetitive. Hopefully the plot will be moving away from these, so that there can be more focus on the generally far more entertaining individual fights. Hell, hopefully the plot will do something interesting period, as it hasn't exactly been riveting so far >_>

Next episode looks like harem bathtime fun, so I'm looking forward to it :3

Eruruu has had loads of screentime though. Shes a good character but im more interested in the leads past. If she had more screentime it would get boring. I think theve given people enough screentime to make you ask questions and want to keep watching. If Eruruu has 597% more screen time we'd probaly find everything we need to know about her in 2 episodes. She is awesome, But not the only good character in this show.

I just finished episode 4.

Show is pretty cool. Needs more Eruruu/Aruruu. What the **** is the weapon Hakuoro is using. Eruruu is damn hot. Oboro or whatever is a pretty extreme hardass.

Its called a War Fan or Dansen uchiwa. High ranking Officers used them to fight, deflect arrows and signal there troops. Oh, and to keep cool...

And an RPG boss appears! Man, I can't wait until we see the final boss, which I am sure will have bones and organs on the outside of its body in typcial crazy jRPG final boss fashion.

Anyway, this entire episode Eruruu was thinking "dammit, I am so in the wrong show. Why can't I just be the lead harem girl for a high school comedy/drama? I'd work out much better there =/"

ps something compelling, interesting, and plowise needs to happen. It is fun to watch, but the plot is practically nonexistent.

Yeah, Kefit, agreed on your last sentence. While the whole "omg conquer countries" combined with the interesting military aspects will be enough to keep me watching, I hope something deeper happens. If they ever dive into Hakuoros past then I'm sure some stuff will go down, but I hope it's interesting.

The characters will be enough to keep me watching regardless though, since I <3 most of them heartily.

That was awesome. I really likeed the animation and the fire effects and everything. I thought it was really well done. Plus on the "next time on...." it shows the chick thats fighting on the opening for every episode and she looks like she's bringing a whole keg of woop-ass. I cant wait. Oh and YAY because i got to see more of the archer twins. They are so cool.
