Much better than the teaser made it look at first. And Beast looks to be so fantastic, that Kelsey Grammer just might be able to make up for the lack of Gambit-ness so far.

I'm still a bit irked over the Juggernaut issue too, but that's something I'm willing to overlook.

That looks great though. I'd love for Gambit to be in it. And honestly, Beast doesn't look too great to me. Kelsey Grammer does fit well, I think, but it just doesn't look right.

Also: official title of "Last Stand"? That's kinda weak. It makes it sound like there definitely won't be any more.

I'd think that would be the only way to end the line of movies.

Either way, I'd like to see more just for the eye candy of it. Even if the plot is subpar, just seeing new live action Xmen action would be good.

X-Men was meant to be a triliogy from the start.

I think even the comics that tell this similar tale of Jean Gray into Phoenix into Dark Phoenix were in trilogies, but don't quote me on that...

I know the X-Men cartoons on Saturday morning that portrayed this similar tale were 4-5 parts each. I loved that cartoon.

But, yea. The trilogy is basically... 1) back story. 2) creation of phoenix. 3) phoenix into dark phoenix and her destruction. Anything more would be an outside plot of X-Men characters having nothing to do with the Jean Gray saga.

And, yes.... the lack of Gambit is worthy of many an e-tear.

I know this is a bump, but it's better than making a new thread.

Just saw X-Men and man was it great. I mean, I'm no movie critic. I like a lot of movies that a lot of people hate just because of the ending or it doesn't follow the comics or cartoons or whatever, but still.

WARNING: PROBABLY BETTER IF YOU DON'T READ THIS POST IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN THE MOVIE. I WILL DO MY BEST TO AVOID DIRECT SPOILERS, BUT I CAN'T PROMISE ANYTHING.

Those of you who are curious, would do well to just see the movie. I do recommend it.

Also, I think I'll be blocking it out using white color. Highlight it to read it.

Anyway, this movie was good. Things I didn't really like:

A lot of the deaths were very sad (not only emotionally, but also in the "wtf you can't kill them" sense).

Juggernaut was easily defeated, and while I did laugh at the "I'm the Juggernaut, bitch" comment, most people wouldn't.

Rogue seemed secondary and out of place. The ending with her was especially maddening.

The "let's leave it open for a sequal LOL" thing. Terrible. If there is a sequal, it'll be terrible simply because of all the key players killed in this movie.

I was hoping for Apocolypse for a final movie. Also, ending the franchise before showing REAL sentinels was disappointing.

The handling of Phoenix could have been a lot better (ie make it the KEY plot of the movie, and not have her kill a bunch of people).

Gambit. Honestly, what the **** were the movie guys thinking not having him in it? They EASILY could have had him be one of the random brotherhood memebers, and yet they DIDN'T HAVE HIM AT ALL. They really must not care about fans at all... They have Angel, but no Gambit.

Also, what the hell happened to Nightcrawler. I didn't even realize he was absent until I got home. I know he wasn't exactly a member of the Xmen in the last movie, but to exclude him entirely from the next movie was very dissappointing. Nightcrawler is badass.

That all said, I still loved the movie. I'm not sure what it was, but I just liked it, despite all the things I didn't like. My opinion is probably too biased though... I'd have liked it no matter what.
