yo it's gorlock.
i'm too lazy to log out of zajac's account right now so i'm posting on here.

dude, definitely use acid pro. whatever version... i don't care. the chopper is unmatched. you are able to make infinite different mashups from a single sample without a problem. it's extremely accurate because you set all the chop points and you can zoom into the waveform so you can tell exactly whether the sound you are chopping is a hi-hat, snare, kick, etc. the entire software is really intuitive too. definitely check it out. concerning drums: i wouldn't recommend recycling loops and mashing all the time. you need to definitely work on sequencing your own drums. just listen to the artists you like and mimic what they make. that's the best way to learn. once you have developed the talent you can start to stray from mimicking. that is how i learned. i've been producing dnb for 2 years now.
at draigun:
dude that is the most simplistic way of looking at drum'n bass production. i can't believe you actually said that. i hope you don't consider yourself a dnb enthusiast.
at kamunt:
dude definitely broaden your horizons man. i liked what you had to say on production for the most part. but check out some other artists. a huge part of understanding a music is listening to it and knowing exactly what you like. Hive is awesome, but definitely check out some other artists. if you like his stuff you might check out Dom & Roland, Black Sun Empire, Concord Dawn, or even some of the earlier dnb stuff like Ed Rush, Optical, and so on. drum'n bass is a huge world. don't limit yourself too much.
at spook:
dude... spinning pirated music (any time, any place) FOR THE LOSE. that is all i have to say.
that's it from me.
of course i agree with all my man zajac had to say.
take this advice, opinions how you please. it's just free info.
take it easy mates.

sup gor?
This is something I need to try more. Not just in d'n'b, either, but in other genres like house, especially, I need to listen to more and find out where my niches are. The other stuff I left in is stuff I agree on muchly.at e6tence:

:3 Heehee, I don't try to limit myself...but, iTunes is as far as I can go for most indie musique, especially since I don't have a (scratch-worthy) turntable to spin vinyls on. I mean, I have a turntable, but it's my parents' old thang. Black Sun Empire, yeah, I've heard great stuff about him/them. Concord Dawn, as well. Also, I don't have a reliable source of income, and I always have to pony up to papi eventually regarding my iTunes purchases...at kamunt:

Re: Drum'n'Bass discussion/How do I make it?
...We make our beats from scratch...
We stopped using other people's loops after 2 weeks of playing around in FLS back in the day... We now sequence and layer all of our drums purely from scratch all in Acid Pro 6 and all the mastering and EQ and limiting and compression is all done from scratch...
And the beatmapper, if you should have to use it for any reason... Like getting vocals on beat with your track, or remixing, or such, can easily be done by bringing in a sample that is longer than 30seconds I believe (Depends on what your settings are in preferences) and the beatmapper will pop-up, and you can go from there... Or bring in the sample and when it's on the left side, right click it and choose preferences and instead of one-shot or loops, or whathaveyou, sleect beatmap, and again that will bring it up... I'm sure there are more ways, but if Gorlock and I need to use it, we do it those two ways...Originally posted by Spec & ApersonWe Rate You: Cool Motherfucer. 9/10Comment
