See, Jimi Hendrix is heavily over-rated, but you have to agree that without him we wouldn't have half the sounds we do today. He's the most influential guitarist of all time, but that doesn't make him the best. BUT, to say that EVH or Herman Li, or Malmsteen are half as good is rediculous. Herman Li and Malmsteen are arrogant ****y little pricks with absolutely no feeling in their music. It's all technical bull****. EVH is good, and I think he's one of the best of all time, but to say he's above Hendrix is just horrid

Agree'd. Herman Li is a ****ty guitarist. Malmsteen Is really good though! And EVH?!?!

Buckethead is the best though, hands down!

i personally would throw something like this together:

lead guitar: Slash from G n' R/Velvet Revolver
bass: Flea from Red Hot Chili Peppers
drums: Alex Van Halen from Van Halen
vocals: Tyler Connolly from Theory Of A Deadman
backup guitar: Dave Mustaine of Metallica

I think these guys would be awesome together!

The only people that should ever be used for the "Ultimate Band Ever" are either dead or retired. No 20th or 21st century artist should even be considered.

Don't even try to be a smartass. There is BARELY a handfull of musicians that are worthy of even being considered into an "Ultimate band". This death metal **** today and psychotic **** like GWAR and whatever is garbage.

Actually, there is one AMAZING new drummer today. His name is Dave, and he plays for The Berzerker, he is an extremely fast drummer, check him out sometime.

Synyster Gates of Avenged Sevenfold is an amazing guitarist who writes some brilliant music. Or Alexi Laiho of Children of Bodom. Just because the vocals are sometimes heavy gutterals doesn't make the band bad. Yea,there's a looooot of ****ty screamo/death metal bands that just play power chords and scream like they're hardcore, and there are some bands who play well and growl/scream as their own personal form of expression. The lead singer of AFI screams from time to time, but he also sings beautifully too. It all depends on the emotion he wants to portray and how. There are a lot of good musicians now-a-days, they're just not as recognized yet.
