tom waits - heartattack and vine
man, does this guy have an awesome voice. this is rock'n'roll and, to a lesser extent, blues at it's finest. there's a bit too much crooning on the album as a whole for my tastes, but the songs "heartattack and vine" and "til the money comes out" are definitely rockin'-as-hell. 7.5/10

piana - ephemeral
really wonderful and dreamy synth-pop, and the airy, high-pitched approach with the vocals works really well. I'd like to venture more into this style of synth-pop, because the only other artist I can think of off the top of my head who does this kinda stuff is Grimes, and listening to Ephemeral, I can totally understand where Grimes' gets her influence from. 8/10

between the buried and me - the parallax 2: future sequence
progressive metal that's not dream theater, this is refreshing and awesome. loved the whole album, not really much else to say about it atm. 8.5/10
