Yeah, the angle is weird, but the way her hair is flowing makes it seem more awkward than it really is.

In addition to what's already been said...what's not been mentioned is her boobs. They're awkward and unnatural. Kinda missing gravity with them, too. The right boob looks strange (from the character's right). Even if it is your own style, anatomy really IS important. But you've got it down fairly well. ;o There's also supposed a slight curve in facial features to the characters right..the line you used for the face is pretty much completely straight. It's nothing big, though, that's probably just your style. For the character's left, the hair looks kinda strange, slightly blocky, but it seems you've already mentioned about the hair.

I like the background. You did very well with keeping it simple and nice-looking and not drawing more attention to it than the character. =]

And I've never heard of that series, either. Gonna go check it out now.

Edit: More creases in the clothes where her back is bent a little would look better. But that's going by my own style, I tend to add creases a lot. Also, where the shirt goes over her shoulders...it's a little...I dunno what. Oh well.

Haha I was gonna actually disect your drawin like that but I stopped.

Kitsune: Ya your right. Usually you can follow your own style, you just distort the dimensions of regular anatomy a bit... thats all.

And yeah, I know her stance is unnatural, but you probably skipped my post, but basically, when I draw the next character, Rika, you'll understand why she's bending that way. She's supposed to be like "frozen in time".

A good thing to do to improve the look of your drawings is to vary the line weight. Making lineart with the same thick-ish line can make it look amateur. To fix this, either draw it all with a thinner line (can be a pain to get to look right >.< ) or work on making the lines "weighted", with it getting thicker at certain parts to show shadow, and tapering off at lighter areas, etc.

If you can get what I mean. =_=

Yeah, mouse drawings...psht, I couldn't even begin to do that myself - it'd be some demented stick figure or something. That's really good for a mouse drawing, it's not 'noobish.'

Two months on anatomy, was it in your art class? Lmao, personally, I was working over anatomy in separate parts, two-three weeks on a single thing. (Hands, eyes, upper arms, lower arms...etc.) My art class didn't go into any of that and good thing it didn't, I think doing it my way helped me a bit more than that would've, but I dunno. =\

Nyokou, I'd like to see you draw something with a tablet when you get one. You have a definite base for becoming an artist, and especially considering since you're 15. (I meant no offense there at all, don't take it as it.) <3

Thanks, yeah. My old tablet broke like 3 years ago or something, and I lost interest in drawing oekaki until just very recently.. I've wanted to start on it again.

But uh, yeah.. my class is different I guess since I was a freshman, not a lot of art classes here with mostly freshman get to do the things we did, cause well, I'm in this program called Center for the Arts. >___>

No, it did not cost money, rofl, I just had to "audition" for it, as in.. I brought in my portfolio and answered questions about why I wanted to be in the center and I got in. ^___^ apparently though, the first year and last year are the hardest, so.. phew. I'm glad that's over. =D I almost got kicked out too. .__. but, oh well, I made it. :P

Anyway.. o__O I just finished the second part. xD

                        Took me I think 5-7 hours. Especially the darn background. o_o;

EDIT: Oh, and in case you're wondering why Rika is smaller than Shion.. it's because she's younger than her. Shion is like 17-18 and Rika is about 7-9. Yeah, that's all. ^___^ just to clear things up. :3

Hands are the most difficult. If you can draw hands realistically, you can draw just about anything. That's why Disney used to require any potential animators to submit a notebook of nothing but drawings of different sized hands.

Ah, mouse, that's a pain. >.< Trust me though, a tablet's no walk in the park either - at least not at first. It took me a good while to get used to that thing. It feels really awkward at first and you really don't have the same control as you would with a pencil. I have used tablet for years now, but I still feel much more comfortable with a paper and pencil than I do with it. :/

Sorry if I implied that your drawings were "noobish"; I didn't really mean it that way. I just thought I'd give you a nice tip since I notice many people ignoring line weight, and it is a relatively simple way to improve the look of your lineart by quite a bit. I think it's good that you're working on improving. At your age, my drawings were pretty crappy.
