Maya 6 and 7

Does anyone have Maya six or Maya 7. I have Maya 6. I would get maya 7 but it is too damn expensive. This was the progam they used to create the Yoda in Star Wars 1 through 3. Please post what you think about it. I like to use it to make islands and a ball that bonces and blows up.
