iPhones tend to sound cleaner than most Android devices straight out of the box but the difference is negligible.
Invest in a good IEM/Headphone and an external DAC/amp and you can get great sound with either phone.
As an aside, you may need an amp to drive the headphones properly even if they are rated at a low impedance (e.g. AKG K701) or to eliminate ground noise (e.g. custom IEMs)
